From the Cutting Room Floor (My "experiment") [1]

Ok, basically "From the Cutting Room Floor" will be a series of one-shot-like stories that don’t really fit in with the plot of my fics (in this case, Made For Each Other II). They either don’t make sense with the story, or they’re simply not necessary. But, I just can’t make myself cut them completely.
I have a few to post, but if this really isn't working out, I'll drop it and forget about them. haha.

~ 1 - Introducing Jakob Farro ~
(takes place in between chapters 5 and 6 of MFEO2. Chapter 6 will be posted... sometime soon. hah)

He woke up and looked around. A small smile crossed over his face, he’d had a good night’s sleep, the sun was shining, and there were birds flying overhead.
He rolled onto his side and frowned. Bars. Big white bars. They surrounded him on all sides. They were always surrounding him, hindering his escape.
Today, he’d had enough. Today, he was breaking free. He wouldn’t be trapped like this much longer. He was rebelling.
He rolled onto his knees and pulled himself up by grabbing hold of two of the wretched bars.  He placed his foot in between two of the bars and pushed up. BAM! He fell back down. He couldn’t get good footing on the smooth, slippery bars. At least the landing was soft…
Once more, he pulled himself up and tried his escape. Success! He was slowly making his way to the top of his cage. Almost there! He could see it now, freedom!

“Well, you’re going nowhere fast.” Josh smiled and scooped up his son, Jakob. Jake giggled in happiness and twisted in his father’s arms, trying to get at the little spinning mobile hanging over his crib.
“You like those birds don’t you?” Josh asked, earning another giggle from Jake.
“Phew! You’re stinky!” Josh wrinkled his nose and made his way to the changing table in the room. “Now I see why Mommy had me come wake you up.”

“Guess who was trying to escape?” Josh smiled as he walked into the kitchen. Hayley came over and kissed him quickly on the lips.
“Aw, little man!” Hayley cooed, taking Jake from her husband.
“I caught him climbing up the side of his crib.” Josh explained while he grabbed a box of cereal.
“Jakey, Is that crib cramping your style?” Hayley joked. He babbled back at her happily. Hayley placed him in his high chair and hurried to finish preparing his breakfast.
“Oh really?” Josh asked, leaning over Jake’s high chair as his son continued babbling on. “Tell me about it.” He continued. Jake grinned, laughed and kept on jabbering.
“Uh huh.” Josh nodded. “I see.”
“Are you telling stories?” Hayley grinned as she returned with infant oatmeal. Jake grinned and squirmed around happily, ready for breakfast. Hayley smiled, she and Josh were lucky, Jake was a good eater. There was no need to bribe him in to opening his mouth.

“Will you get the door?” Hayley asked as the bell went off a few minutes later.
“Done!” Josh called from the entryway. A few seconds later, Hayley heard voices fill the apartment.
"Guess who's here!" Hayley said to Jake, eyes wide in an attempt to get her son excited. Jake squealed and pounded his tiny fists on his high chair tray as he heard Taylor's booming voice. If Taylor was there, that could only mean one thing...
"Where's my Jakey?" An excited female voice called. Jake automatically raised his arms up and started whining, the universal 'pick me up' sign among infants and toddlers.
"Is auntie Laura here?" Hayley laughed, watching her son. Jake groaned in complaint when he was not lifted out of his high chair, as he wanted to be, and screamed in delight when Taylor’s wife, Laura, walked into the kitchen.
"Hey Jakey!" She grinned. "Can I pick him up, or is he still eating?" She asked Hayley.
"I don't think I could get him to eat now if I tried." Hayley laughed. Jake was bouncing up and down in his chair. He loved auntie Laura.
"My wife is being stolen away from me right under my nose by a younger man." Taylor sighed teasingly as he watched Laura cuddle with Jake.
“Oh shush!” Laura smiled as she combed back Jakes hair with her fingers. “He’s my Jakey.”

See, it’s not really necessary for the fic, but it’s still cute, and I couldn’t bring myself to ditch it. :)

Please let me know if you want more of these in between MFEO2 chapters or if you just want MFEO2!! Thanks! :D

Made For Each Other II (Chapter 5)

Ah crap. I just remembered that the full song title for Made For Each Other by Jack's Mannequin is "MFEO: Part 1 - Made For Each Other, Part 2 - You Can Breathe" Should have named MFEO2 "You Can Breathe" :/ It would even have fit in with the fic too. Oh well.
...That song has been stuck in my head ALL day. Just so you know. haha

This chapter is kinda long. I'm sure you won't mind though. haha

The rest of the tour flew by in a blur. Hayley rocked out at all their shows, though not quite as hard as she normally did, and would run to the bathroom before their encore to throw up. She constantly felt like crap, but it quickly became routine to her and, most of the time, she didn’t mind in the slightest.
Josh, and the rest of the band, had been constantly worried about her health and always made sure she was eating as healthily as she could on tour, getting enough sleep and, most of all, making sure she was comfortable and happy. She had her off days where she just yelled at everyone, but the guys understood and tried not to take it personally.

Now that they were home, Josh could breathe a little easier. He made sure Hayley had proper meals and he even had started reading some of the pregnancy and baby books his and Hayley’s mothers had bought for them.
Hayley was eager to baby proof the apartment and get started on the nursery in Zac’s old room, but Josh wouldn’t allow it. She was barely four months pregnant. If they started preparing too much and something awful happened, their preparations would just be a reminder of what could have been.

“Zac and Aud here!” Josh yelled as he opened the door to the apartment he and Hayley shared.
“Be right out!” Hayley called from the bedroom.
“Come on in.” Josh said, stepping aside to let Zac and Audra into the living room.
“Hey!” Audra grinned as Hayley appeared in the living room with wet hair from her shower. Hayley hugged Audra quickly and they began chatting away.
“Are you sure you’re pregnant?” Zac interrupted. “You still look like a stick.”
“I have a bump!” Hayley defended happily, pulling up her shirt to reveal a small, smooth bump in her stomach. “It’s getting bigger every day.”
“How did the appointment go?” Audra asked.
“Really well.” Hayley smiled. “More of an informational thing than anything else.” She added.
“Ah, and Josh was an ass.” She said, suddenly remembering what he had done.
“I was just asking!” Josh laughed. “I didn’t mean to embarrass you.”
“What did he do now?” Zac laughed.
“He asked if my pregnancy was ‘low risk’” Hayley said, rolling her eyes.
“So?” Zac said slowly.
“He then went on to explain why he wanted to know.” Hayley continued. “Apparently sex is safe if the pregnancy is low risk.” Audra and Zac burst out laughing and Josh bit back a smile, not wanting to make Hayley mad.
“I just wanted to know.” Josh said quietly. “I didn’t want to hurt it or anything.”
“Who says you’re getting that,” Hayley nodded downward, “anywhere near our baby?” she asked, raising an eyebrow. Josh blushed furiously and laughed.
“Ok, you’re the boss.” He said, raising his hands in the air.
“Thank you.” Hayley giggled.
“Awkward.” Zac sang teasingly.
“Is it low risk?” Audra asked curiously. Josh frowned.
“That’s for me to know and Josh to find out.” Hayley grinned.
“Aw, that means it is low risk.” Zac said. “If it wasn’t you’d have told him right away.” Josh grinned cockily as he realized Zac was right.
“You suck Zac.” Hayley sighed.
“And as far as you’re concerned,” she looked at Josh, “it’s a high risk pregnancy.”
“Dang.” Josh joked.

~*~

Two weeks later, Hayley looked at herself in a mirror and frowned. She didn’t look pregnant, she just looked fat. She scowled at her reflection and pulled on a t-shirt.
“You ready to go to lunch babe?” Josh asked, poking his head into the bathroom door.
“I’m fat.” Hayley wailed.
“You are not fat.” Josh smiled. “You’re pregnant, with our beautiful baby.”
“I’m fat.” She repeated, looking at her reflection once more and rubbing her stomach gently.
“You’re beautiful.” Josh assured.
“Stop lying to make me feel better.” Hayley sighed angrily. Josh frowned.
“I’m not.” He said. “I honestly think you look beautiful.”
“Whatever.” Hayley said before hurrying out of the room. Josh stood in the bathroom in slight shock but quickly followed her out to the car.

“I’ll be there in a minute. I have to pee. Again.” Hayley groaned as she and Josh walked into the restaurant.
“Alright.” Josh moved in to kiss her but his lips landed on her cheek as she hurried past him.
“Josh, over here honey.” His mother called. Josh smiled and made his way over to his and Hayley’s parents. They were having a very belated congratulatory lunch for Hayley, Josh and their unborn baby.
“Where is Hayley?” Her mom asked.
“Bathroom.” Josh smiled.
“How is she feeling?” His mother asked.
“Not so great today.” He said warningly.
“Oh, that’s too bad.” She frowned. “It’ll pass though.” She assured.
“Just try to stay pleasant to her, she wont really mean anything she may say.” His dad advised, earning a laugh from both Josh and Hayley’s mothers. Josh nodded and took his seat. He hopped up as he saw Hayley make her way over and pulled out a chair for her.
“I can get it.” She snapped.
“Alright.” Josh said, forcing a smile. Moody Hayley was no fun.

Hayley was quiet through most of the lunch, simply sitting in her seat. Josh looked over at her every few minutes to see if she was all right, but received a death glare from her every time he made eye contact with her.
He heard Hayley gasp quietly from beside him and he immediately dropped his forkful of food back onto the plate. As he turned to see if she was ok, she grabbed his hand and placed it over her stomach.
“Wha – oh my gosh!” He grinned.
“What?” Hayley’s mother asked, concerned.
“Either I’m having some bad gas, or the baby is kicking.” Hayley smiled, suddenly in a great mood. Josh kissed her gently, keeping his hand on her stomach.
“Hey! Don’t stop yet!” Josh said, pulling away from Hayley’s lips to talk to her stomach. “Keep kicking!” He ordered. Hayley laughed when the baby didn’t respond.
“Already not listening to his father.” Josh shook his head, tutting jokingly.
“Do you know the gender yet?” Josh’s father asked.
“Nope.” Josh replied. “The doctor says she’s pretty sure she knows, but she wont tell us for sure until the ultrasound next week. And we don’t even know if we want to know the gender.”
“Might just let it be a surprise.” Hayley smiled.

~*~

“Aw he looks like a little person now.” Josh smiled as he watched his and Hayley’s baby on a small screen.
“Or she.” Hayley corrected.
“Do you want to know the gender?” The ultrasound technician asked. Hayley looked at Josh and bit her lip.
“We aren’t sure yet.” Josh said.
“That’s fine.” The technician smiled. “I know it’s not my place, but for first time mommies and daddies it often helps to know the gender. So you can have a better idea of what to expect and prepare for.” Josh nodded and looked to Hayley. She was trying not to smile and he could see the curiosity in her eyes.
“Let’s find out.” He decided. Hayley grinned.
“You don’t mind?” She asked. Josh shrugged.
“The next one can be a surprise.” He smiled. Hayley laughed and shook her head.
“Lets get through this one first.” She said.
“You’re sure you want to know?” The technician asked.
“I think I already do.” Josh said, squinting at the screen. Hayley twisted a bit to get a better look.
“I think it’s a little dude.” He continued, pointing to the screen.
The technician smiled. “You’re absolutely right.” She said.
“A boy!” Hayley whispered. “We’re having a baby boy.” Josh grinned from ear to ear and kissed the side of her head lightly.

“We can name him Joshy Junior.” Hayley giggled as she and Josh walked into their apartment.
“Or not.” Josh laughed. “Is the laundry clean?” He asked, pointing to a laundry basket on the couch. Hayley nodded and Josh, without warning, removed his shirt.
Hayley’s eyes went wide and she bit her lip as her hormones attempted to take over all rational thought at the sight of her well-muscled husband.
“W-what are you doing?” Hayley asked shakily. Josh turned to face her, slightly confused.
“I spilled breakfast on myself, remember?” He said, pointing to a stain on the shirt he had just removed.
“Right.” She replied breathlessly. Josh smirked, realizing what was going on.
“I’ll just take this into the bedroom for you.” He said, lifting the laundry basket while subtly flexing his arm muscles.
Hayley bit her lip a bit harder, trying to focus on the pain, rather than the incredibly attractive man in front of her. Josh turned and walked to the bedroom, swaying his hips slightly in his tight jeans. She heard herself squeak quietly and she quickly turned away and pulled out her phone.

“Sarah!” Hayley wailed as Sarah answered her phone.
“What?” Sarah asked quickly.
“Help! I can’t do this!” Hayley said. “Josh is walking around shirtless.”
Sarah laughed. “Oh hun, that’s normal. One day you’ll want to rip the clothes off his body and have your way with him and the next day you will find him completely repulsive.”
“I can’t do it.” She said. “If he walks back out without a shirt on…” She didn’t finish her sentence.
“Why are you so worried about it? The doctors gave you the green light right?” Sarah asked.
“Well yeah, but it would be weird.” Hayley explained.
“It’s not. Trust me.” Sarah assured.
“You and Jerm… while you were pregnant?” Hayley asked in disbelief.
“Of course! I have the willpower of a horny sixteen year old boy when it comes to Jeremy.” Sarah replied.
Hayley laughed. “I don’t know. It still seems weird. I’ll just have to wait it out.”
“Do what you want.” Sarah said. “I have to go give Maddie her bottle, I’ll call you later.”
“If I don’t answer, it means I have the same amount of willpower as you.” Hayley sighed, making Sarah laugh. She hung up the phone and sat down on a barstool at the small island in the kitchen.

“Clothes are all put away.” Josh said proudly, reappearing from the bedroom. Hayley turned and smiled in relief. He was wearing a shirt again… a super sexy black shirt that clung tightly to his chest and arms, showing them off excellently… dang.
She shook her head, stood and walked over to him, kissing him passionately. Josh raised his eyebrows in surprise but kissed back. Hayley shoved him toward the bedroom roughly and pulled his shirt over his head.
She grinned at the feeling of his stomach muscles under her fingers and pulled him close so their hips met.
“Hayles, hold up.” Josh said breathlessly as she pulled her own shirt over her head.
“What?” Hayley asked.
“Do you really want to do this?” He asked. “Only three weeks ago you said this wasn’t gonna happen.”
“I can change my mind.” Hayley said, attacking his lips with hers.
“Wait two seconds will you?” Josh laughed, gently holding her back.
“Why?” She whined. “I’ve been going crazy for you all week, I’m giving in.” Josh smiled and blushed slightly.
“All week?” He asked. Hayley nodded. “I’ve been going crazy for you for… how long has it been since the last time? I’ve been going crazy for you since then.” Hayley laughed.
“I know.” She said. “Don’t think I don’t see the tent in the blankets in the morning.” Josh laughed.
“Come on.” She pulled him back to the bed. He bit his lip, unsure.
“What? What are you so hesitant for?” Hayley demanded angrily. “Am I repulsive or something?”
“No, no, not at all.” Josh assured. “That’s definitely not the problem. I just don’t want to hurt the baby.”
“You aren’t going to hurt the baby.” Hayley said confidently. “Maddie came out fine so there’s your proof.”
“Ah, I didn’t need to think about that!” Josh said, covering his eyes. “Not the best way to get me into bed Hayles.”
Hayley laughed and walked over to him, deciding to take a different approach. She needed this. They both did. She ran her fingers along his lower abdomen and hips slowly. His muscles contracted and he twitched slightly at the touch.
“Fine, you win.” He said quickly. “But if I hurt the baby, it’s all on you.” He added.

Haha, I had fun writing that Hayley/Sarah talk. xD

Ok, so I've got too many ideas for this fic, and really, not enough space/filler ideas for in between these bigger ideas. So, I've got a little... experiment? I'm going to try tomorrow. If it goes well, I'll keep doing it, if not, no big deal.  :)

OH! and, kinda irrelevant, but I got to see an ultrasound pic of my little "niece" (or "nephew" don't know which yet) a few hours ago! Awww! Made me smile... :D

Made For Each Other II (Chapter 4)

This is where things start to go downhill… haha (writing-wise)
Time to start picking up the pace. Sorry! It will slow down again in a few chapters. Hope the length of this one makes up for the lack of length on the last one. haha
One more ~twist. It’s a happy one though. lol

“It-it’s negative.” She said, shocked. Josh felt his heart sink.
“Shit.” He whispered.
“Come here.” He said, pulling Hayley into his arms as a tear rolled down her cheek.
“We just have to try again.” He whispered soothingly. Hayley nodded into his chest with a sniffle. She pulled away to find a tissue and blew her nose loudly.
“Let me see it.” Josh said, holding out his hand for the test. Hayley handed it over, still crying a bit.
Josh sighed as he looked at the spiteful little minus sign on the test. Deep down, he had been sure Hayley was right.
Hayley quickly began making her morning tea, determined not to let this little hiccup get to her. They would just keep trying, like Josh said. As she placed her tea bag into the hot water in her favorite mug, she turned to face Josh.
“What?” She asked as she saw a slow grin creep across his face. He still had the test in his hands and he was staring at it intently.
“Look.” He said, showing her the test. Hayley frowned and took it from him.
“Oh my gosh!” Hayley whispered, a tingling sensation ran through her body. There, in the readout of the test, was a plus symbol.
“We didn’t wait long enough!” Josh said happily. “You’re pregnant! We’re having a baby!” Once more, tears sprang to Hayley’s eyes. This time, they were tears of joy.
“We should do another one to be sure.” She said.
“No.” Josh smiled. “You were right.”
“We’re having a baby.” Hayley said in disbelief.
“We’re having a baby.” Josh confirmed with a smile.
“Oh my gosh!” She grinned. “I love you!”
“I love you too.” He laughed and pulled her into another hug. They heard someone stir in the bunk area and jumped apart.
“Should we say anything?” Josh asked.
“Not yet.” Hayley said. “I want to see a doctor first, make sure it’s a real possibility, you know?” Josh looked confused.
“If we say something to them and I end up miscarrying, I couldn’t bear it.” She whispered. Josh froze, he hadn’t even thought of the possibility of miscarriage.
“Uh, right. Yeah, ok.” He said, now worried. Hayley scooped up the test and box and hurried to hide them.

~*~

Hayley couldn’t get a doctors appointment for another week, but she had one planned for when the band reached Seattle. In theory, the plan was perfect. Hayley and Josh would go to their appointment, find out how the baby was and head back. Then, when they got back, everyone, including Jeremy, would be there so the two could finally share their good news. So long as the baby was healthy and happy, the plan would go off without a hitch.
Jeremy had found a way to get out for a few shows here and there without having baby withdrawals. His solution: bring Sarah and Madeline with him. They were going to stay the night in a hotel, but during the day, the three would be on the bus with everyone else.
Hayley smiled as she watched Josh babble to Maddie happily, he was going to make a great father.
“Dude, you and Hayley should get one, they’re fun.” Jeremy said as he too watched Josh and his daughter. He smiled tiredly and yawned. He looked beat.
“Oh really?” Josh said, raising an eyebrow. “Because you look like you’re having loads of fun.”
“They’re exhausting, but fun.” Jeremy smiled. “They’re also scary, but they’re so darn cute.” Josh shook his head with a crooked smile and nuzzled Maddie’s nose with his own, making her laugh.
“SARAH!” Jeremy yelled instantly, causing Josh’s eyes to go wide in fright, thinking he’d done something wrong. Sarah came running from the bunks where she had been sneaking in a rare nap.
“What!” She said frantically.
“She just laughed for the first time! Do it again Josh!” Jeremy said urgently. Josh sat, still frozen, in his seat.
“Uh, ok.” He said slowly. He lifted Maddie to his face and nuzzled her nose again.
“Oh my gosh!” Sarah grinned as sweet laughter filled the air.
“Jeremy!” Sarah turned to face him.
“I know!” Jeremy grinned.
“Hayley!” Sarah looked at the red head. “Did you hear? My baby laughed!” Hayley grinned and nodded.
“My baby!” Sarah rushed forward and took her from Josh.
“Maddie! You laughed!” Sarah cooed. Little Madeline smiled at her mother and blew a tiny spit bubble.
“I want one.” Hayley pouted.
“Good luck with that.” Zac said with a laugh. “I don’t think you can exactly steal Maddie without Sarah noticing.”
“I want one of my own.” Hayley corrected, rolling her eyes. Josh grinned knowingly and looked at the clock.
“Oh, Hayley, we’re gonna be late for… our date.” Josh said.
“Date?” Jeremy asked.
“Yeah, I made lunch reservations for us.” Josh lied. “Since we’ll be kinda busy with a show during dinner.” He stood and ushered Hayley to the front of the bus.
“See you later.” Zac called.
“Have fun.” Sarah smiled.
“But not too much fun.” Jeremy added. Josh shook his head and lead Hayley off the bus.

~*~

“Hello Mr. and Mrs. Farro.” A friendly looking doctor said as she walked in to the room.
“Hello.” Hayley smiled happily. She was sitting on an exam table in an oversized hospital dressing gown.
“So, you’re pregnant?” The doctor asked. Hayley nodded.
“This is my first time being to a doctor though.” Hayley snapped into businesswoman mode. “I’ve just started experiencing the frequent bathroom breaks, so from what I’ve read, I think I must be at least six or seven weeks along, if not more.” Josh frowned. Hayley knew an awful lot about this whole pregnancy thing… he didn’t know anything besides the fact that it was making his wife puke every night.
“Alright, lets take a look and see if everything is alright down there.” The doctor smiled kindly. Hayley put her legs into the stirrups attached to the exam table and Josh’s eyes went wide. Hayley rolled her eyes and laughed.
“Get up here.” She said, motioning for him to come to her side so he didn’t have a free show.
“Everything looks great.” The doctor said after a few moments. “You shouldn’t have any problems when you go into labor. I’d say you’re just about right about being six or so weeks along”
“Great.” Hayley smiled, taking her legs out of the stirrups. “Am I allowed to have an ultrasound yet? I’ve read loads of different opinions about how far along you have to be before you can have one done.”
“Normally I like to wait a few more weeks, there’s not much to see right now, but I think an internal ultrasound can be arranged.” The doctor smiled. She could tell Hayley was excited about the baby. She hurried out of the room quickly to get the necessary equipment for the ultrasound.

“I can’t do this.” Josh said suddenly. Hayley froze and went wide-eyed.
“What?” She asked, uncertainly.
“I-I can’t do this! I don’t know the first thing about pregnancy, let alone babies!” He said, pacing around the room. Hayley smiled a bit.
“Josh, you’re gonna be fine.” She assured. “I’ve been doing a ton of research because I’m excited and I’m the pregnant one. Guys tend not to do that type of thing.”
“I am completely baby retarded!” Josh said, panicking. “I’m a guitar player, not a Dad!”
“Josh, Jeremy is a great father.” Hayley said. Josh paused for a moment and nodded in agreement.
“If he can be a great dad, you can too.” She continued. “I can show you some of the stuff I’ve been researching so you know what’s going on.” She walked over to him and took his hands in hers.
“We can do this.” She whispered. “Together.” Josh relaxed a bit and allowed a smile to pass over his face. He kissed her gently and sighed.
“That didn’t help a whole lot.” He admitted. “I’m still nervous as hell. I don't know if I can do it.”
“I'm nervous too.” Hayley replied. "And you can do it. Or I'll kill you." She added with a laugh
“Knock, knock!” The doctor called from the other side of the door before pushing it open.
“Alright Hayley, if you could lay down on the exam table, we can get this going.” She smiled. Hayley turned toward the table and obeyed. The doctor quickly explained how an internal ultrasound worked while Hayley nodded along.
“Here we go then!” The doctor announced. Josh smiled and held Hayley’s hand comfortingly as the exam began.
A few moments later, the doctor pointed to a small screen. “There’s your baby.” She smiled.
“It’s a little blob.” Josh said, a smile instantly washing over him. It was real now, there was a little life he had helped create growing inside his wife.
“I don’t see anything.” Hayley said after a few minutes, eyes beginning to water.
“Right here.” Josh pointed to a little blob on the screen.
“T-that’s it?” She asked, smiling slightly.
“That’s it.” The doctor replied quietly. “And that’s the heart beating” She pointed to the screen.
“Heart?” Josh said in disbelief. Sure enough, part the 'blob' was pulsing, ever so slightly. Hayley squeezed his hand tightly, a tear of happiness running down her cheek.

~*~

“Hey, how was your date?” Zac asked as Josh and Hayley stepped onto the bus.
“The only one who had a date was the doctor.” Josh mumbled quietly, referring to the exam table and stirrups incident. “And she didn’t even take Hayley to dinner first.” Hayley giggled and shoved him playfully.
“Doctor?” Sarah asked. Hayley nodded and bit back a smile.
“I have some kind of abnormal growth.” She said.
“Are you alright?” Sarah said instantly, thinking the worst.
“Well, it’s eating all the food I swallow and making me throw up.” Hayley said casually. A small smile played at Sarah’s lips as she tried to figure out if she knew what Hayley was talking about.
“Get it removed then!” Zac said, completely oblivious to the subtle hints.
“It’ll come out eventually.” Josh shrugged. “Just have to wait it out.”
“I got the doctor to take a picture of it though.” Hayley said, pulling the ultrasound photo from her pocket.
“I knew it!” Sarah screamed, instantly recognizing what the photo was. She tackled Hayley in a hug.
“Sweet! You have an alien growing in you.” Taylor laughed, looking at the picture. “Wait…” He paused. “Oh dude!”
“Is that – am I gonna be an uncle?!” Zac cried in realization.
“You’re already an uncle.” Josh said, reminding Zac of their older brother, Nate’s, son.
“I’m gonna be an uncle to your kid though!” Zac said excitedly. He pulled Hayley into a tight hug.
“Ah careful!” Hayley laughed. “You’ll suffocate it.” She joked.
“Oh my gosh! Sorry!” Zac said, panicking. Hayley laughed.
“Kidding!” She said.
“How far along?” Sarah asked.
“Seven weeks.” Hayley smiled.
“We have to cancel the tour.” Zac said instantly. “It can’t be good for the baby.”
“I agree, but the doctor gave her the OK and there’s no changing her mind.” Josh sighed. Hayley nodded her head firmly.
“What in the good Lord’s name is going on out here?” Jeremy said sleepily.
“Hayley has an alien growing in her.” Taylor grinned. “See.” He held out the ultrasound photo. “It looks like an alien.”
Jeremy grinned. “Congratulations!” He said loudly, hugging Hayley and Josh tightly.
“You know Josh, when I said you and Hayley should get one.” Jeremy pointed to Maddie, who was sleeping in her portable crib. “I didn’t mean you had to get one today.” He joked.
Josh grinned. “I can’t wait to have one.” He smiled, leaning over to touch Maddie’s face lightly.
“Oh Hayley!” Sarah said as she watched a tear roll down Hayley’s cheek.
“Fucking hormones.” Hayley laughed as she watched her husband.
“What did I do?” Josh said instantly, hurrying over to comfort her.
“You were sweet with the baby.” Hayley said, wiping a tear from her eyes. Josh laughed and kissed her forehead while she nuzzled her face into his neck.
“Well, I’ll try not to be.” He joked.

:| I feel like I could have done better with this, but I guess it's not tooooooo horribly bad.
Still.... ehhhhhh. :/ Seems like a lot of it was unnecessary. lol
Ohhhh this fic is gonna suck in the beginning. It'll get better, I swear. I really shouldn't have started it this early on, should have started a few years after the epilogue if MFEO. *kicks herself in the head* oh well, this means there will be some cute parts that are fun to write. haha.
I'm gonna shut up now...

Made For Each Other II (Chapter 3)

This one is a little short. The next one will make up for it. I promise!
Enjoy!

“I think I’m pregnant!” Hayley said, unable to hide a grin.
“What? That was fast.” Josh said, thinking back to the night before.
“No, it must have been from a different time!” She whispered excitedly. “Morning sickness doesn’t happen until 2 weeks in at the absolute earliest. Most women don’t get it until 3 or 4 weeks in.”
“Hayles, that was far from morning sickness.” Josh pointed out. Hayley scowled.
“It doesn’t have to be in the morning.” She said, as if the fact was that obvious. “It can be different for everyone.”
“Hayles, as much as I’d love it if you were pregnant, I think your body is just reacting to being on tour.” Josh admitted. Hayley stopped walking.
“Josh, I am.” Hayley said stubbornly. “I know I am.” Josh bit his lip, unconvinced.
“Well, then we’ll buy some tests tomorrow.” He reasoned. “Have you even missed your period yet?”
“I was supposed to start today.” Hayley said quietly. Josh looked at her, but didn’t say anything; her period was infamous for being a few days late.
“Alright, you don’t think I’m pregnant. Fine.” Hayley said angrily. She turned on her heel and hurried for the bus.
“Hayley!” Josh called after her. “Wait, I’m not saying you aren’t! I just think we should get tests done!” She ignored him and hurried to her bunk.
The entire bus looked to Josh for an explanation as to why Hayley had flown past them in an angry blur, but Josh scowled at them and hurried to her bunk to fix things.
“Go away, I’m tired.” Hayley said from her bunk.
“Hayley…” Josh whispered.
“I said go away. We’ll talk tomorrow when I’m not so pissed off at you.” She spat back. Josh sighed and sat down in his bunk, running his fingers through his hair.

~*~

“Hayley.” Josh whispered. “Hayles, wake up.” He said quietly. She looked gorgeous in her sleep, he almost felt bad waking her up, but he needed to make peace before everyone else woke up.
“Josh.” She sighed in her sleep. “Mmm.” She grinned faintly. Josh chuckled to himself as she continued to sleep. A light bulb went off in his head and he gently leaned over to nip at her neck. She groaned happily in her sleep and tangled her fingers in his hair. Suddenly, her lips were on his in a happy kiss.
“I’m still mad at you.” She mumbled as she yawned. “But that wasn’t a horrible way to wake up.”
“I brought a peace offering.” He smiled, pulling a bouquet of flowers from behind his back. Hayley rolled her eyes.
“Read the card.” Josh urged. Hayley took the little card off its holder in the flowers and read.
“Sorry I’m an idiot, please don’t find someone else for the other half of the formula.” She read aloud. She laughed as she finished it and hit him playfully.
“I would never do that! You’re too cute, you would make beautiful babies.” She smiled sleepily. “Even if you are an idiot.” She added. Josh shook his head and smiled.
“I still say I’m pregnant.” She said. “I did some research and I’m definitely showing a few early signs.” Josh didn’t say anything, still unsure. Hayley rolled her eyes at him, knowing he didn’t believe her.
“Look.” He said quickly. “I just don’t want you to get your hopes up.” He continued.
“I know.” Hayley smiled. “But I am, I can tell.”
“Well, we can find out for sure.” Josh said, pulling out a box of pregnancy tests. Hayley grinned and hopped out of bed.
“Gimme one!” She said excitedly.
“Shh!” Josh warned. “Everyone’s still sleeping. I figured it was best to do this before they were awake.” Hayley ripped open the box, pulled out a test, and ran to the bathroom.

“How long ‘till it’s done cooking?” Josh asked. He was sitting in the front lounge, with Hayley on his lap, waiting.
“Two minutes.” Hayley smiled. She hopped up and down on his leg, anxious to see the results.
“What’s pregnant again?” He asked, pulling the box toward him.
“Plus means pregnant, minus means not.” She said hastily.
“Why don’t you start some tea?” Josh suggested. “By the time you get it going, the test will be ready.” Hayley shook her head, choosing instead to stare down the small stick that sat on the counter in front of her, preparing to tell the two their future.
“You know, if it’s negative, we just have to keep trying.” Josh said. He wanted to prepare her in case she was wrong. “No big deal, just more fun for me.” Hayley laughed and glanced at the clock.
“I give up!” She said. She reached for the test, but was stopped by Josh.
“Leave it.” He said warningly.
“It has to be done by now.” She complained, standing to pace around the bus.
“Thirty more seconds.” Josh said. Both counted down in their heads.
“Three, two, one!” They said aloud together. Hayley dashed forward and grabbed the test, smiling happily.
She stared at it, cocking her head to the side in confusion, and her face fell.
“It-it’s negative.” She said, shocked. Josh felt his heart sink.
“Shit.” He whispered.

Made For Each Other II (Chapter 2)

Well this didn't take long to update... lol.
I'm not so sure about this chapter, I feel like I could have done a better job with it but ehhh... oh well.
Enjoy!

“Jer, go! Seriously!” Sarah smiled as she watched her husband stare longingly at his guitar case. He shook his head roughly.
“No.” He said stubbornly. Paramore’s first show of the tour would be later that night, in Houston. Jeremy longed to be on tour with them, but his wife and newborn daughter trumped work. They always would in his mind.
“Why not? It’s just a few weeks. I’ll be fine on my own.” Sarah replied. “I promise.” She walked over and wrapped her arms around him from behind. He instantly relaxed into her and sighed.
“Besides, my mom would be more than happy to help out with Maddie while you’re gone.” Sarah added. Jeremy shook his head lightly. He didn’t want to risk missing anything Maddie did. He wanted to be there for every smile, every babble, and every dirty diaper.
“I love you.” Jeremy smiled, turning to face her.
“Love you too.” Sarah replied. He leaned in slowly and rubbed his nose against hers, making her laugh and shoo him away. He leaned back in and kissed her gently, wrapping his arms around her tiny waist in the process.
Soon, a heart-wrenching cry filled the room, effectively killing the moment.
“Nope! Not leaving!” Jeremy said, instantly jumping away from Sarah and running for Madeline’s crib.
“Maddie baby! What’s wrong?” Jeremy cooed as he picked up the infant. “Is it time for lunch?” Maddie instantly quieted down and grabbed hold of Jeremy’s finger with a smile.
“Aw!” Sarah smiled. “Come here sweetie.” She held out her arms for Maddie.

“I can’t wait for someone else to have a kid. I want someone Maddie can play with.” Jeremy laughed as he and Sarah settled on to the couch for a movie and mini date night while Maddie was sleeping.
“Me too.” Sarah agreed with a yawn. “Won’t be long now, with luck.”
“Yep.” Jeremy smiled. “Wait.” He frowned as he though about what she had said.
“What do you know?” He asked.
“I know a lot of things babe, you’re gonna have to be a bit more specific.” Sarah laughed.
“You said ‘won’t be long now.’ What do you know?” Jeremy repeated, a slow smile creeping over his face.
“I didn’t say that, I said hopefully it wouldn’t be long now.” She said.
“Sarahhhhh!” Jeremy pouted.
“That doesn’t work anymore, boy.” Sarah laughed. “I’ve learned not to cave at that face anymore.”
“Ha! There’s something to cave at! You DO know something!” Jeremy grinned.
“Just leave it Jeremy.” Sarah said angrily, realizing her mistake. “Let’s watch the movie.”
“Zac and Audra?” He asked. Sarah didn’t respond, choosing instead to stare at the television.
“Taylor and Laura?” He tried. Once more, she didn’t respond.
“Josh and Hayley?” He said. She raised her eyebrows as if to say ‘yeah right’ but didn’t reply.
“Josh and Hayley!” Jeremy grinned victoriously.
“Uh, no.” Sarah laughed.
“How long have they been trying?” Jeremy pressed.
“They haven’t!” Sarah argued.
“You know you made a vow to me saying you wouldn’t lie right?” Jeremy pointed out. Sarah frowned, she hated being called out on things like that.
“Three months or so.” She sighed. “But don’t tell Hayley you know, they aren’t telling anyone until Hayley’s pregnant. And Josh has no idea that I know.”
“Ok, ok!” Jeremy said, raising his arms in the air. “Ah! I knew it!” He grinned.
“Hayley is freaking out.” Sarah admitted. “She’s convinced that either she or Josh is infertile. She called me again today to talk about it and nearly broke down. She wants that baby so much…”
“But they’ve only been trying for three months.” Jeremy pointed out. “She shouldn’t be freaking out yet.”
“I know.” Sarah sighed.
“It took us –”
“At least a year, I know.” Sarah cut him off. “And if you remember correctly, I freaked out about the same thing when I didn’t get pregnant right away.” Jeremy nodded his head thoughtfully.
“They would make good parents.” He said finally.
Sarah smiled. “Yeah, they really would…” She snuggled closer to Jeremy and kissed him quickly.
“Can we watch the movie now?” She asked.
“You can try.” Jeremy laughed. “I’m probably gonna fall asleep myself.”
“No sleep. This is date night.” Sarah said with a yawn.
“Uh huh.” Jeremy smiled. He pulled her closer and let her rest her head on his shoulder. Within minutes, the exhausted new-parents were asleep.

-Meanwhile-
“Thank you Houston!” Hayley yelled into the microphone. “Hope you enjoyed the show! We’ll stop by again with Jerm someday soon!” She smiled. “But lets give it up for Riiiiiileyyyy!” The crowd roared.
“Thank you!” Hayley yelled once more. She grabbed hands with the boys and bowed. She cringed as she bowed, but kept a straight face. She had a massive headache and her back was killing her. Every time she head-banged or moved too quickly, her head and back screamed in pain.
She silently vowed to never share such a tiny bunk with Josh ever again. It was nice to be near him, but the next day consequences were far too painful.
“Ugh, we’ve been on tour one day and I’m already gaining weight.” Hayley complained as they got off stage. “My jeans are so tight, I can barely button them.”
“You’re as thin as you’ve always been.” Josh laughed. Hayley rolled her eyes.
“You alright?” Taylor asked as Hayley pressed her back against the nearest wall and let her head fall back.
“Fine.” She said. “Just a headache.” Taylor smiled sympathetically.
“Me too.” He said. “The first day on tour is always the worst.”
“Ah my arms!” Zac complained, rubbing his hands along his arms to relieve the pain a bit. He hadn’t played drums with so much intensity for an hour and a half straight, in a long time.
“Yeah, first day is definitely the worst.” Josh agreed.
“Gotta love it though!” Riley grinned. Everyone, except Hayley, nodded in agreement.
“Hayley?” Josh asked, concerned. She had suddenly gone very pale and she was sweating like mad.
“I think I’m gonna be sick.” She raised a hand to her mouth.
“Whoa!” Josh hurried over and placed an arm around her waist.
“Shit.” She whispered, fighting with her gag reflex. She shut her eyes tight, willing her body to calm down until her nausea passed. Josh gently guided her to the bathroom, just in case.
Without warning, Hayley ran to the toilet and fell to her knees. Josh cringed as he listened, he hated when people were ill, it always made him feel nauseous, but he forced himself to kneel beside her and hold her hair back.
“Sorry.” She whispered weakly as she flushed the toilet. “Guess my body isn’t ready to be on tour yet.”
“You alright?” Josh asked gently. Hayley nodded and forced a smile. “Tired though.” She said.
“Lets get you to bed then.” He smiled. He helped her stand up and let her rest her head on his shoulder as they walked out of the bathroom.
“You ok?” Zac asked, concerned for his sister-in-law. Hayley tried to reply, but she still felt too nauseous to really talk.
“She’ll be fine. Too much excitement for her body for one night.” Josh said, kissing her forehead gently. She smiled and nodded.
“And she didn’t exactly get a great nights sleep last night.” Josh added with a smirk. Hayley’s eyes widened and a big grin passed over her face.
“What?” Taylor asked when he saw her face.
“Uh, glad to be on tour.” Hayley said quickly. “Come on, let’s get to the bus, I’m exhausted.” Taylor didn’t look convinced but he didn’t press further.
“Josh!” Hayley whispered as the group made their way to the bus. Josh hung back a bit and looked at her curiously.
“I think I’m pregnant!” She said, unable to hide a grin.

:) I'll update again... sometime...
Just so you know, I think the beginning of this is gonna be pretty fast paced, I have to push through the years pretty quickly here in order to get it to match up nicely with the end. haha. Not even sure why I started it this early on anymore... Should have started when the kids were all older... oh well. Sorry!

And thanks to everyone who commented on the first chapter!! :)

Made For Each Other II (Chapter 1)

Here we go... O_O
Like I said in the last post, this chapter is pretty uneventful. Just kinda showing what has happened in the months between chapter 26 of MFEO and now.
I guess it isn't really necessary that you read Made For Each Other before this, but things will probably make a little more sense if you read MFEO first. First chapter of MFEO here.
Enjoy.... *eep!*

~Roughly 3 months after chapter 26 (Epilogue hasn’t happened yet!!)~

Recap (In case you forgot!):
Jeremy and Sarah just had little girl, Maddie. Zac and Audra got married a year and a half ago. Taylor and his wife (Laura) got married a few months ago. Hayley and Josh have decided to try for a baby.

~Chapter 1 (!) ~

“Yes! I missed this so much!” Zac yelled, running through the bus. Hayley laughed and rested her head on Josh’s shoulder.
“It’s not going to be the same without Jeremy.” She sighed.
“Yeah.” Taylor agreed. Jeremy was on daddy duty. Little Maddie was only eleven weeks old and there was no way he could join them on tour.
He promised he would fly out to do a few shows here and there, but no one believed him. They all knew Jeremy wouldn’t have the willpower to leave his new baby. And if he did manage to get out on tour, they knew he would have major baby withdrawals and be constantly worried about Sarah, causing his bass playing abilities to be questionable at best.
The fans understood though, of course they wanted Jeremy to be there for shows, but they understood that family came first. Riley Emminger, guitar tech for Paramore and bass player for the band Conditions, happily agreed to take Jeremy’s place on tour while the original bassist couldn’t be there.
“It will certainly be less smelly.” Josh noted about Jeremy’s absence.
“Not if I can help it.” Taylor and Zac, always young at heart, said together. Hayley groaned in disgust and wandered into the bunk area.
She had been feeling a little down lately, she and Josh had been trying for a baby for weeks now and it just wasn’t happening. She knew it took time, she had read that some couples had to try for months or even years before they got pregnant, but she wanted to be pregnant so badly.
“Hey, cheer up.” Josh said, knowing what she was thinking. “It’ll happen. You don’t want to be pregnant on tour anyway.”
“I guess your right.” She sighed. “That would suck.”
“Of course I’m right.” Josh smiled. “Come on, Will wants us to have a little band meeting.”
Hayley laughed. “I can’t believe Will is still with us after all these years.” She smiled.
“Got nothing better to do.” Will grunted, overhearing Hayley’s comment. “So I might as well be stuck with you guys for a little while longer.” He added.

“I miss you too babe.” Zac said into his phone. “Love you too. See you soon.” He hung up his phone and sighed. He missed Audra like crazy.
“Love you too.” Josh imitated his brother. “Oh Audra! I don’t know what to do with myself when you aren’t here!”
“Josh!” Hayley warned.
“Shut up dude.” Zac said, punching Josh lightly. “You don’t know what it’s like, at least your wife is here.” Josh shrugged.
“True.” He smiled at Hayley. Hayley raised an eyebrow and shook her head.
“Come on Hayles, aren’t you glad to be back on tour?” Taylor asked, elbowing her side lightly in an attempt to get her excited.
“Don’t do that!” She complained. “My boobs are sore.” Taylor went red as he realized his arm had accidentally hit her in the wrong spot. Hayley watched Zac’s face go just as red as Taylor’s.
“Oh come on, its not like your wives don’t have ‘em too.” She said, gesturing to her chest.
“Are you ok?” Josh asked, concerned about Hayley.
“Yeah, they get tender sometimes before that time of the month.” She sighed.
“Oh right.” Josh said quietly.
“Who wants to do… anything else?” Zac said loudly. Hayley rolled her eyes.
“I have an iChat date with Laura in…” Taylor paused to look at a clock, “five minutes.” He finished.
“I’m gonna get to bed.” Hayley said, standing up. It was after midnight and she was exhausted from packing at her apartment and unpacking on the bus.
“Me too.” Josh said with a yawn.
“Oh I see how it is.” Taylor said cheekily.
“Or not.” Hayley shot back.
“Aw.” Josh complained, head hung low. Hayley laughed and shoved him playfully.
“Boys.” She sighed.

Josh woke up as Hayley crawled on top of him and kissed him roughly.
“What time izzit?” He grumbled.
“Four in the morning.” Hayley whispered.
“What are you doing?” He asked sleepily.
“Getting my baby.” She said determinedly. “Unfortunately for me, Riley stays up until 3 AM and you have the other half of the formula so I need your help.” She giggled to herself.
“Not the best way to get the other half of the formula.” Josh yawned. Hayley laughed and kissed his neck. She planted small kisses along his bare chest and torso and wiggled down to leave a few messy kisses on his hips.
“That helps.” Josh said breathlessly, eyes fluttering shut. Hayley shifted back up the tiny bunk to lay next to him and kissed him lightly.
“I think I like this make-a-baby thing.” Josh smirked.

Anyway, posting it later tonight I think. I just wanted to warn everyone so you can get a refresher on what happened in the original fic if you want.

It starts after: Chapter 26 of the original fic (before the epilogue)

Haven't read "Made For Each Other" yet? Please do before you read the sequel!! First chapter here: This fic is why I started posting on buzznet :)

And for now, I will leave you with this:

Isn't it freaking AWESOME?!?! !!!!!!! Amanda (rememberthestars) made it for me :D It makes me all excited about MFEO II. hahaha. I loves it. :)

First chapter of MFEO II is gonna be fairly boring and uneventful, just so you all know. It's more of a "this is what has happened" type of chapter. lol

Memory (Epilogue)

This is still way shorter than I wanted it to be, but I’m completely out of ideas now.

Thank you to Amanda for helping me with an idea for this one. :D

(aw, I'm gonna miss this banner. I love it! haha)

-Hayley’s POV-

Three months later, Josh and I were picking out paint for a new apartment. It was time for change. I needed a change; it was a constant nagging for me. So, one day, Josh had suggested moving in together.
I think I surprised him when I agreed to the idea, but he quickly got over the shock and began apartment-hunting almost immediately. It didn’t take to long to find a place, but it was definitely a boring apartment, as far as the wall color went.

So far, the whole move was very exciting. I felt like I had when I was moving in with Leila and Haley. It was like moving in to a first apartment all over again, I had this feeling of freedom and an indescribable sense of ‘oh! This will be so much fun!’

I watched Josh scratch the back of his neck as he compared paint chips for ‘limeade’ and ‘electric green’, trying to see a difference in the shades. I smiled at his confusion and pulled out more paint samples.

It amazed me just how much people were willing to put aside, or forgive and forget about, in order to be with the one we loved. If I had been dating anyone else, and he had done what Josh had done all those months ago, I would have dumped him in a heartbeat and completely forgotten about him.
But it wasn’t anyone else, it was Josh, my Josh, the love of my life. So I heard him out, and although he was wrong, I was somehow willing to forgive him and work to save our relationship.

Looking back, I realized just how right Leila had been. Josh was not the only one at fault, I had been a complete bitch. It was a drunken mistake. And yes, it was wrong, but I may have overreacted about it… just a little

Josh and I weren’t quite back to where we had been before the whole Natasha-incident as far as our relationship went, but we were working on it. I was even letting him go down to the bar Friday night! Though, I secretly made Ajax and Jeremy promise they’d keep an eagle-eye watch on Josh and keep him away from anyone who looked even remotely feminine. It would take time for me to regain my full trust in Josh, but it was getting better. Things always get better.

Ah! Its over now! Combo of :D and :( haha.

Time to work on MFEO II. ….I really should think of a better name than MFEO II… Nah. I like MFEO II, that’s what I’ve been calling it for so long now, that anything else would sound weird. Plus, I have a kick-ass banner made  by Amanda for it :D

Thank you SO MUCH for the comments/buzzes and for just reading my stuff in general!
It makes me happy. haha.

And the rumor is...

CONFIRMED

"We've just received official word that Paramore will be joining No Doubt
for their 2009 Summer Tour, kicking off this May in outdoor amphitheaters
and arenas across the US and Canada. Tour dates and ticket information
will be announced soon.

"What a dream tour! We couldn't be more excited to kick off 2009 by
touring with a band like No Doubt." - Hayley

Keep checking paramorefanclub.com for more details on this upcoming tour!

Best regards,

The Official Paramore Fan Club"

My friend just forwarded this email to me... I like No Doubt, I like Paramore, not sure about them being together... But I'm sure it will end up being awesome. I hope ticket prices won't be insane... :/ I want to goooooooooo. I have yet to see Paramore perform live. Then again, I think I'd rather see them on their own, not with No Doubt. I might just wait for the 'next album' tour depending on ticket prices. haha

Memory (Chapter 19)

HUGE thank you to Katie (herewegoagain180) and Amanda (rememberthestars)! This chapter totally would have sucked if you two hadn’t helped me out! :D

I’m still not incredibly thrilled with this chapter, well, the beginning of it really, but meh. I hate the beginning of this, I couldn’t make my brain think of something better though… just so-z you all know. haha

-Josh’s POV-

I pulled out a bottle of left over sleeping pills a doctor had prescribed Zac a few months back and a bottle of anti-anxiety pills I had been prescribed for when we were on tour.
I nervously uncapped both bottles and shakily poured the pills into my hand. How many did it take to overdose? Could it even be done with these types of drugs?
I knew I was being stupid but I couldn’t seem to stop myself. I reasoned that it would be easier on everyone if I was gone, although that was probably not true.
As I raised my handful of pills to my mouth, I heard my phone ring. I grinned, thankful for an excuse to stall, and picked it up.
“Hello?” I said, not caring to check the caller ID. At this point, I was happy to talk with anyone.
“Hello?” I repeated as I heard no reply.
“Josh?” A small voice finally replied. My heart soared.
“Hayley.” I said quietly.
“C-can we talk?” She asked.
“Uh, yeah, yeah I’d like that.” I said quickly. I dropped the pills into the toilet and flushed it.
I heard a repressed giggle on the other line. “Did you just take a piss while you were talking to me?” She asked, unable to stifle the laugh now.
“Uh… yeah.” I lied, figuring it was better than admitting to what I had stupidly been about to do. I was already completely appalled at myself for even thinking of it.
“Sorry.” I added. She couldn’t seem to stop laughing. It was so good to hear her laugh. I felt a smile spread across my face and before long, I was laughing along with her.
“Come over.” She said between gasps for air. “We really need to figure this out.”
“Yeah, I’ll be there in 10.” I said quickly.

-Hayley’s POV-

I waited nervously for Josh to arrive. I had no idea what I was going to say. I didn’t even know why I had called him. I just had this strange feeling and I had to hear his voice.
All too quickly, there was a knock at my door. I bit my lip and debated pretending like I wasn’t there. I shook my head, angry with myself; of course he knew I was home.
I stood up and opened the door slowly.
“Hi.” Josh said quietly. I nodded back at him silently.
“Uh, can I come in?” He asked after a few uneasy moments of silence. I nodded once more and stepped aside to let him by.
We walked to the living room and settled onto opposite ends of the couch, sitting as far apart as we could.
“I’m sorry.” We said together. I bit back a smile and stared at the floor.
“Hayley, I’m so sorry, I was an idiot. I thought I was kissing you.” He said.
“You were practically having sex with her from what I hear.” I spat back, still hurt. I saw him wince out of the corner of my eye.
“Anyway…” He said. “I’m really sorry. I never meant to hurt you, honestly.”
I sighed, “I know.”
“Do you forgive me?” He asked. I bit my lip.
“I guess.” I said finally. It would take a long time for me to trust him again, but forgiving was a step in the right direction.
“Do you forgive me?” I asked, fearful of the answer.
“For what?” He asked.
“For being a bitch about it all.” I replied. Josh smiled and laughed softly to himself.
“Of course. You handled the whole situation much better than I would have.” He said, finally.
“Hayley…” He whispered. I looked up at him. “Please… please don’t quit the band. I don’t care if you don’t want to get back together, well, I do care, I do want to get back together, but I’d rather have you in the band. I know how much it means to you, you love music. If you can’t stand being around me, I’ll leave the band. But you can’t.”
I opened my mouth to speak, but closed it immediately and sighed. “Yeah, ok. I won’t leave.” A grin spread across his face. I forgot how much I loved his smile.
“Honestly, I don’t think I would have been able to stay away anyway.” I added quietly. "But, I make no promises as to how long I come back for." I warned. Josh nodded slowly.
After a few more moments of awkward silence, Josh spoke up again.
“What about us?” He asked.
“What about us?” I echoed.
“Hayley, I love you, I always will.” He said.
“I-I love you too.” I said quietly. “But I don’t know…” I turned to face him and saw his eyes light up.
“Hang on!” He grinned. He stood and hurried for the door, leaving me completely confused.

A half an hour later, he still hadn’t returned. I was beyond curious now. I wanted him here with me, even if I didn’t know where our relationship stood, if there was even one at all. Over the past month I had missed him like crazy.
I knew deep down I wanted to be with him again, but my brain kept overriding my heart with reasons why it would be a bad idea. It was obviously bad for the band, or would be if we got back together and broke up again, and I didn’t think I could handle another disappointment from him. But I loved him… and wasn’t love supposed to conquer all?
I sighed in frustration as a knock on the door pulled me away from my internal debate. I opened the door and bit my lip to keep from laughing as I looked at Josh. He had flowers sticking out of his coat, pants and other random places.
“I’m supposed to be a bouquet.” He explained quickly. “Last time I was a present, this time I’m flowers.”
“This time you’re an idiot.” I giggled and resisted the overwhelming urge to tackle him. His face went red and he pointed to a card taped to his chest.
“Read the card.” He said. I gently reached forward and pulled it off his coat.
“To Hayley, From Josh. I’m so sorry, I’m a dumbass. I love you.”
I grinned broadly and shook my head.
“I dunno.” I said teasingly. I had already made my decision. I was going to be selfish. It didn’t matter what it did to the band, being with Josh, generally, made me happy. That was more important to me right now than the band was.
Josh pouted and hung his head low. He pulled a rose out of the hood of his jacket and bent down on one knee.
“Hayley Williams, if I promise never to touch alcohol again, will you be my girlfriend?” He asked, dead serious face and all.
I was unable to keep a straight face, Josh always had more control than me with things like that. I laughed and nodded.
“Of course I will Edward Garden Hands.” I giggled. I couldn’t resist the tackle urge any more and I jumped on top of him. I smiled at the sweet sound of his laugher as he hugged me tightly.
“I’ve missed you so much.” He whispered as we hugged.
“I’ve missed you too.” I replied, a tear rolling down my cheek. He pulled back and carefully leaned in for a kiss. At the last second, I turned my head so he kissed my cheek.
“Fair enough.” He said with a weak smile.
“I don’t allow guys to kiss me before the first date.” I giggled. Josh grinned and wrapped his arms around me.
“Lets get on that date then!” He said. I laughed and pulled him into the apartment, closing the door behind him.
I pushed him against the hallway wall and slowly unzipped his jacket, pushing it off his shoulders. I let my fingers run along his arms and chest so they could get reacquainted with his addictingly gorgeous muscles.
“I think I like this ‘date’ thing.” Josh whispered, shivering as my fingers brushed over his chest. I stood on my toes and kissed his jaw, just under his ear.
“Oh!” He whispered. “What happened to the no kissing rule?” He asked.
“I never said I couldn’t kiss you.” I teased. “I just said guys couldn’t kiss me.” A lopsided grin passed over his face and he pulled me close, digging his hips into mine.
“No.” I groaned. “No fair.”
“No rules against it.” He smirked. “Too bad for you.” He dug his hips again.
“Except for the ‘you kissed another girl’ rule.” I replied with a smile. He immediately stopped, worry written over his face.
“I win.” I smiled, turning and walking to my bedroom. “You coming?” I asked over my shoulder. He didn’t need to be told twice, and within seconds, he was pushing me into the room, slamming the door behind us.

Leila banged on the wall as things began getting heavy between Josh and I. We were still fully clothed, and I planned to stay that way, but it was still an unwanted interruption.
“If T and I can’t do that, neither can you!” Leila called through the wall with a giggle.
“What makes you think I’m not by myself?” I called back. Josh nearly died at the thought.
“Pervert.” I whispered to him. He nodded his head in agreement, lust clouding his eyes.
“I know Josh is in there, his coat is on the kitchen floor along with loads of roses.” Leila hollered back.
“Go away!” I giggled, turning my attention back to Josh. “And you, be quiet.” I added, nipping at his neck.

-Jeremy’s POV-

“Hey, can we talk to Hayley?” I said as Haley opened the door to their apartment.
“Sure, I think she’s still sleeping though.” Hales replied.
“Nice!” Zac grinned and ran for the sink and grabbed a cup.
“Zac!” I said sternly. “Don’t do anything that might piss her off, we need her happy.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Zac hung his head low, he quickly dumped a cup full of water down the drain.
“What’s up?” Hales asked.
“We’re asking, well, begging, her to not leave the band.
Haley smiled knowingly, “she may just reconsider.” She raised an eyebrow and wandered off to her room obviously knowing something we didn’t.
“Alright guys, look cute.” Taylor said. “Pull out the puppy eyes if you have to.” He joked.
“Hold up! I’m gonna warm up this brownie from my mom. Bribe by chocolate baby!” Zac grinned, holding up a delicious looking brownie, wrapped in cellophane. I rolled my eyes and pushed Taylor toward Hayley’s bedroom door.
“Hayley!” I sang as we neared her door. “We need to talk.”
“Go-way.” Hayley mumbled sleepily. At least I think it was Hayley… she seemed to have kind of a manly voice…
Taylor pushed the door open and threw his arms in the air. “Morning glory!” He shouted. “Time to get up!” He hurried to the curtains and pulled them open.
“Taayyyyyy.” Hayley whined. “Tay!” She repeated in realization. “Oh my gosh! It’s not what it looks like!”
“Not what, what looks like?” I asked, peering over Taylor’s shoulder. I frowned as I spotted a head of short, messy brown hair in the bed next to her.
“Hayley.” I started in my best big brother tone of voice. The guy rolled over suddenly, rubbing his eyes with his fists.
“What’s going on Hayles?” He yawned. Taylor burst out laughing.
“What the – Josh?” I gasped.
“It’s SO not what it looks like!” Hayley cried, face red with embarrassment. I could tell she was wearing a shirt, but Josh wasn’t. Nothing too scandalous about it really.
“Well,” I smiled, “we were gonna ask you to come back to the band, but apparently Josh beat us to it.” Hayley laughed and nodded slowly. “Looks like he was more persuasive then we could have been anyway.” She blushed furiously and Josh simply shut his eyes and rolled back onto his side.
“We didn’t…. you know…” She said quietly.
“We know Hayley.” I laughed.
“Oh hey! Look! It’s Josh!” Zac grinned and pointed as he finally entered the room. “I take if you aren’t really leaving the band then.” He started picking away at the brownie eh was supposed to be bribing Hayley with. I raised my eyebrow at him.
“Oh, right. This is for you.” Zac said, handing over what was left of the dessert to Hayley.
“I’m good.” Hayley laughed.
“Mine by default.” Josh mumbled tiredly, holding his hand out.
“Ah, a Paramore reunion!” Taylor laughed as he looked around the room. We all rolled our eyes and watched Taylor jump on the bed.
“Good to have you back Hayley.” I smiled. I walked over to hug her and ended up pinned to the bed by Zac.
“Nice tackle!” Taylor laughed as Zac pulled himself off of me and hugged Hayley quickly.
“Yeah!” Zac roared, flexing his arms and high fiving Taylor. Wow, he was far too energetic for eleven in the morning.
“Well, we’ll be getting out of your way now.” I smirked. Josh rolled his eyes, he was being unusually silent about the whole situation. Probably too tired to wrap his mind around what the hell was going on, he definitely looked tired.
“See you kids later.” Taylor grinned.
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!” Zac cried as I shoved him out the door.
“Already did!” Josh called back. I laughed as I heard a smacking noise and a muffled ‘Ouch!’ Go Hayley!

Ehfigrwuejaksd I cringed so bad at the beginning of this chapter. hahaha.
The whole thing is just like “BLAH! Here it is!” I feel like it’s really rushed and not nearly as good as it was in the beginning of the story with the flashbacks and such. But oh well.
And, after getting some insight from Amanda, I decided I will be posting a short epilogue. :) Hopefully ....tomorrow? or Thursday? We'll see.

Memory (Chapter 18)

:/ It gets a little better next chapter! I SWEAR!

-Josh’s POV-

I took my time walking up the stairs. Hayley had called a band meeting and Zac, of course, had volunteered our house to meet. I was hoping that if I walked slowly enough, I would miss most of the meeting and I wouldn’t have to see Hayley for too long. I was beginning to resent her ever so slightly and I hated it.
As I got closer to Zac’s room, I began to hear what the muffled voices were saying.
“Come on, Josh can sing, Taylor can take over some of the lead stuff, it’ll be fine!” Hayley said.
“I can’t picture Josh singing something like Misery Business Hayles.” Jeremy pointed out.
“Well, there’s a new record coming out, Josh can write his own lyrics. You’ll be fine.” Hayley said quietly. “You guys don’t need me anymore.” I froze and my heart sunk. Hayley was leaving the band.
“What?” I said hoarsely, stepping through the doorway. “Hayley…”
“I have to go.” She said quickly. “Have fun. Don’t forget about me when you go on tour.” No one said anything as she left. I turned slowly to face the group and was met with three sets of angry eyes.
“No.” I said, shaking my head. Anger surged through my veins. “No! Don’t you dare blame this on me!” I yelled.
“You two!” I said, pointing to Zac and Jeremy. “If you two hadn’t fucked with us and made us get together this would never have happened.” I spat furiously. Zac looked at the ground sadly while Jeremy and Taylor looked like they were ready to beat me to a pulp.
“This is not our fault!” Jeremy roared. “You two were going to get together anyway. It was only a matter of time. You are the one who fucked it up Josh. It’s your fault she’s gone. This is ALL ON YOU.” My heart stopped.
“She– she’s gone.” I whispered. “She’s really gone.” I sat down in disbelief.
“What have I done?” I said quietly. “She’s gone!” I finally collapsed. I crumpled to the floor and sobbed like a baby. No one moved forward to comfort me, and I didn’t blame them. I wouldn’t want to get near me after the nasty things I had said to my friends.
I don’t know how long it was, but I heard a sigh and finally felt a strong hand on my shoulder.
“It’ll be ok Josh.” Zac said. Seconds later, Jeremy and Taylor moved closer too.
“We’ll figure something out.” Jeremy said quietly.
I didn’t believe him. Not for a second. How could things possibly get better? I had driven away the love of my life and she wasn’t coming back. Hayley was stubborn as hell, I knew I’d lost her for good.
Horrible thoughts began crossing my mind. Thoughts on how I could end my pain once and for all. I knew they were bad, that there was another way out, but really, what was the point of living? The only things that were really important to me, besides family and friends, were music and Hayley. Now those were both gone. Paramore could not exist without Hayley. I couldn’t even write anything new anyway, not the way I was feeling now.

-Hayley’s POV-

I stopped dead halfway down the stairs when I heard Josh yell. I couldn’t believe him. How could he possibly blame this on someone else? I angrily turned back, planning to yell at him, but stopped once more at the door as I heard Jeremy do it for me.
I heard Josh whisper something and I poked my head around the doorframe carefully to see what was going on.
“What have I done?” He whispered.  “She’s gone!” Tears sprang to my eyes as I watched him crumple to the floor in a heap. I quickly backed out of the room and sunk against the wall in the hallway. I buried my head in my knees and cried.
I heard Jeremy whisper, "we'll figure something out," to Josh and I prayed he was right. I would give anything to go back and fix things so this never would have happened.

Ho-ly drama. :O I don’t know if I like all this. Haha. But it’s over now! (Or is it... :?) One more (happier!) chapter left! :) I'll try to post it soon.

Oh, and Guitar Hero USB microphone + GarageBand software + guitar = lots of fun! Thank you Laura, I never would have thought of trying the Guitar Hero mic for recording! haha

Memory (Chapter 17)

Almost over. 2 more chapters I think.
Enjoy.

-Josh’s POV-

“Josh, Taylor and I are ordering pizza. What do you want?” Zac asked, sticking his head in my door. I had holed myself up in my bedroom for two weeks straight now, leaving only for the bathroom and for food when it was absolutely necessary, and I didn’t plan on joining the real world anytime soon.
“Nothing.” I grumbled back. Hayley still wouldn’t return my calls or texts. I was completely miserable. I saw no point in pretending to enjoy myself for Zac’s sake. When he heard what had happened, he immediately apologized for our fight. I think he felt like he was the one who drove me to drink, which was technically true. But honestly, I probably would have had a few drinks anyway, and I could have stopped at any point. No, this was entirely my fault.
“Look Josh, I know your upset, but it’s been almost three weeks. You have to move on with life. Hayley will talk to you eventually.” Zac said nervously.
“I didn’t know!” I burst out. My sadness had quickly turned into anger. How was this supposed to get better if Hayley wouldn’t talk to me?
“This is ridiculous!” I continued. “She wont even let me explain.”
“Think about it from her point of view.” Zac said. “If you heard that Hayley had been making out with someone, even if she was completely wasted and didn’t know what she was doing, you’d freak and refuse to talk to her for like, a year. Just leave her alone for a bit, she’ll calm down eventually and you can try talking to her then.”
“I don’t know Zac. I think I fucked it up pretty good. God, what was I thinking?” I said angrily. I was so mad at myself, and at Hayley for not talking to me, and at Zac for being in my room. I needed to get out.
“Why don’t you go get some soda, by the time you get back the pizza will be here.” Zac suggested, as if he was reading my mind.
“No.” I said stubbornly. “I’m staying here.”

Twenty minutes later, I was walking through the grocery store trying to find the aisle with the chips and soda.
Why couldn’t I just forget about everything? I wished I could just go back in time and stop myself from being so stupid. It hurt so much, being ignored by my best friend. I just wanted it all to go away.
As I passed the aisles full of refrigerated goods I froze. I turned around quickly, maybe there was a way to forget everything…
I hurried down to the end of the aisle and stared at the large refrigerators full of beer and flavored drinks. Getting drunk would surely make me forget everything for at least a little while. Sure, it wasn’t a permanent fix, but it was an escape. It was just what I needed.

After a few moments, I sighed. I couldn’t do it. Alcohol was not the solution. In fact, it was obviously the problem. None if this would have happened if I had kept it to my usual one or two drinks. But no, I had to go get completely wasted. I had to let what Zac said get to me.
I let my head droop and I turned away from the refrigerators slowly, bumping in to another shopper in the process.
“Sorry.” I mumbled as the girl stumbled backward.
“Josh?” I heard a faint whisper. I looked up and grinned.
“Hayley!” I cried. She immediately turned and fled.
“Hayley! Wait!” I called after her, jogging to catch up.
“Leave me alone.” She replied. She headed for the exit, still paces ahead of me.
“Whoa! Whoa! What’s going on here?” An important looking worker stopped us. Hayley looked at her, tears streaming down her face.
“Is this man bothering you?” The woman asked. Hayley looked at me and her jaw jutted out, a sure sign she was trying not to cry.
“Please Hayles.” I begged. “Talk to me.” She tore her eyes away from me and looked back at the woman.
“Yes, he is bothering me.” She said quietly. “He’s scaring me, I don’t know who he is.” She continued.
“W-what? Hayley!” I said in disbelief. I felt like I had been punched in the stomach.
“Sir, I’m going to have to ask you to leave.” The woman said, looking to me.
“Sorry Josh.” Hayley whispered. She turned and hurried out of the store.
“Hayley!” I called after her.
“Sir!” The woman said sternly, reaching out to grab my arm.
“Let go of me!” I snapped. “She’s my girlfriend. I fucked up majorly and I need to fix it. I love her, I can’t let her go.” Tears now welled in my eyes.
“She said she didn’t know you.” The woman said.
“Oh come on, you heard her say my name.” I spat. “She’s known me since we were kids. Let go!” I yanked my arm. Damn this woman was strong.
She looked at me sympathetically. Normally I would feel like a complete retard, but right now I didn’t care, I had given up on caring what other people thought long ago. Hayley’s was the only opinion that counted these days.
“Alright, go.” The woman sighed, letting go of my arm. I didn’t move, I was shocked that she had actually let go of my arm.
“Go! Go get her!” She urged. I turned on my heel and ran out of the store, yelling a thank you over my shoulder.
I ran into the parking lot and looked around. Hayley was gone. I’d missed her. I pulled out my phone and dialed her number.
“Come on.” I muttered as I waited for the phone to connect.
“This number has been disconnected, please hang up and try again.” A pre-recorded voice said coolly.
“What?” I said, confused. I hung up and tried her number again.
“Shit.” I whispered as I got the same message. She’d changed her number. I’d lost her.

-Hayley’s POV-

“Hayley! What’s wrong?” Leila asked as I slammed our door shut, tears streaming down my face. I had no idea how I had driven home through the tears; my vision was completely blurred.
“I ran into Josh.” I said quietly.
“Oh Hayles.” Leila frowned, hugging me tightly. “You know, you’re gonna have to talk to him eventually…” She said slowly. I glared at her.
“You didn’t actually see Natasha. Did you?” Leila asked suddenly.
“What?” I asked, what did that have to do with anything. I' was sure if I had seen her, I’d have killed her anyway.
“She looks different Hayley.” Leila said. “She has shorter hair, she’s dyed it red. And she was wearing skinny jeans and a black hoody.” I scowled at my roommate, knowing where she was going.
“I think Josh was seriously thinking he was kissing you.”  She finished.
“Natasha is about ten feet taller than I am, thanks for playing.” I spat.
“He was drunk off his ass hun. Everything’s different when you’re drunk.” She said.
“Why the fuck are you defending him!” I snapped. “He hurt me Leila! You’re supposed to be my friend!”
“Yeah! I am supposed to be your friend!” Leila snapped back at me. “And as your friend, I’m telling you to stop feeling sorry for yourself! Suck it up and go talk to him. Stop being a whiny bitch about it. It was just a kiss, it didn’t mean anything.” I stood, completely shocked. I didn’t think I had ever heard Leila yell.
“I know it hurt and that it unbelievably wrong of him, but you’ve known him for… forever.” She continued, voice softening. “If anyone can get through something like this, it’s you two.”
I didn’t say anything. I knew she was right, but it certainly didn’t make me feel any better.
“Leave me alone.” I muttered, shoving past her on the way to my room.

Later that night, I laid in my bed, trying to figure things out. We had to get to the studio soon to record out fourth Paramore record and things needed to be fixed, or at least be better, before that time came.
I groaned as I heard muffled giggles come from Leila’s room. Apparently Taylor was over. And by the sound of it, they were having a bit of fun together.
When had I missed that? The last I knew, the two were at the ‘really shy around each other’ stage.  I had missed the part where they finally realized they liked each other and started dating.
I groaned and banged on the shared wall between my bedroom and Leila’s as I started hearing some not so pleasant (for me) noises. Normally, I would have ignored it and teased her endlessly the next day, but I was not in the mood tonight. A few moments later, I heard Leila’s door open and the two left the apartment, probably headed for his place. At least it gave me peace and quiet to think.
By the end of the night, I knew what I had to do.

Sorry for all the drama. One more drama chapter then the final chapter gets a little happier.

Memory (Chapter 16 part deux)

So, this is really short... I'm just gonna say it's chapter 16, part 2 because it still fits in with ch. 16 pretty well.
Enjoy

-Josh’s POV-

You know those headaches that hurt so much you feel nauseous? The ones that make your head pound so hard that you want to die? Yeah, I had one of those headaches. Topped off with an extra side of feeling crappy and a stiff neck.
I woke up on Hayley’s couch and winced as bright light invaded my eyes. I groaned and rolled over, falling off the couch I was laying on, and smacking my head against a waste bin that was resting on the floor.
“Fuck.” I groaned. So this was a hangover… it sucked. I stood up carefully and wandered over to the bathroom, holding my head in my hands painfully.
I leaned over the sink and took a few deep breaths as I felt my stomach churn. Once it had calmed a bit, I opened the medicine cabinet and pulled out a bottle of Advil. I popped three into my mouth and swallowed them dry.
As I closed the door to the medicine cabinet, I caught my reflection in the mirrored door and groaned. I looked like shit. I am never drinking again. Ever.
I turned on the tap to wash my face and the sound of the running water made me realize my throat was completely dry. I didn’t bother finding a cup, opting instead to simply stick my head in the sink and drink straight from the faucet. I had never felt so thirsty in my life.
Once I cleaned up a bit, I dragged myself back into the living room, searching for my shirt.
“Nasty.” I groaned in disgust as I picked it up and spotted a dried patch of sick on it. I headed for the trashcan and threw it in, I never liked that shirt anyway. I turned toward Hayley’s room and opened the door quietly. I carefully opened the drawer in her dresser she had set aside for some of my clothes, but they were gone.
I looked around, confused, before spotting my clothes in a heap next to her door. Frowning, I grabbed a shirt and pulled it over my head.
“Hayley.” I whispered, walking over to the bed. “Hayles, time to wake up.” I said as I climbed in. She grinned in her sleep but didn’t wake. I frowned once again as I caught a glimpse of her face. She looked like crap. Had she been that drunk too? I couldn’t remember.
I shrugged and kissed her forehead lightly.
“Hey.” I whispered as she opened her eyes. She looked at me for a few seconds before scrambling away.
“Whoa, what’s going on?” I asked. I saw pain in her eyes but I had no idea why she was hurting.
“Get out.” She spat.
“W-what?” I stuttered, completely taken aback.
“GET. OUT!” She roared. I winced as her shriek rang in my ears, no, hangovers were definitely no fun.
“I allowed you to stay here last night because Zac wouldn’t take you. Grab your things and leave me the hell alone.” She said, tears streaming down her face.
I stood in shock. “What the hell happened last night?” I asked. Hayley’s face twisted in anger.
“Fuck you.” She spat. “Like you don’t know.”
“I-I don’t, honestly Hayley.” I said, hoping she would explain. “Last thing I remember was downing a few shots with ‘Jax” Hayley skirted around me, staying as far away as she could, and began shoving my clothes into a trash bag.
“Take this and get out of my apartment.” She said calmly, shoving the bag into my arms.
“Hayley…” I said.
“Now!” She yelled.
“Tell me what I did?” I demanded. She slapped me hard across the face, tears falling from her eyes again.
“What the fuck was that for?” I yelped, grasping my face in pain.
“What’s going on in here-oh.” Haley said as she and Leila entered the room. She looked from me to Hayley, and back to me again.
“Get him out!” Hayley screamed, crying hysterically now.
“What did I do?” I yelled back. This was not helping the headache at all.
“Josh, I think it’s best you leave right now.” Leila said calmly. “Taylor spent the night and he’s about to leave, he can give you a ride.”
“Come on dude.” Taylor said, staring at the floor. He gently pulled me out of the apartment as Hayley collapsed into her roommates' arms.

“Damn it!” I groaned as we walked out into the sunlight, shielding my sensitive eyes from the sun.
“You really don’t remember last night?” Taylor asked in apparent disbelief.
“No! What the hell happened?” I asked, eager to find out what I’d done to hurt Hayley so badly.
“You made out with Natasha.” He said bluntly. I stopped dead.
“What?” I said, shocked. I felt my eyes go wide and a wave of nausea overcame me once more. Taylor just nodded sadly.
“Shit.” I whispered, suddenly bits and pieces of the previous night began to come back to me. “How do I fix it?”
Taylor shrugged. “You don’t.” He said. “At least not yet. Let her have some space for a bit.” He advised.

Aww. That sucks dude. haha. Poor Josh and Hayley...

...I'm so ready for this fic to be over and for MFEO II to begin!!! haha

Memory (Chapter 16)

Enter drama!
Very cliché… :/ but I can’t make my brain think of better ‘drama’ and I wanted to get this posted.

-Hayley’s POV-

I hadn’t heard from Josh all day. We were supposed to meet up before seeing a few friends for a night out but he hadn’t showed. I was beginning to think the worst as he didn’t answer his phone for the seventh time that night.
I bit my lip in worry and quickly dialed Zac’s number.
“Hey Zac.” I said as he answered. “Do you know where Josh is?”
He scoffed back at me. “Nope, don’t care either.” He replied. “He’s a bastard.”
I frowned, I don’t think I had ever heard either of the Farro’s say something nasty about each other. Sure, they teased each other all the time, but it was never like this.
“What climbed up your ass and died?” I asked.
“My idiot brother who wont stop trying to control my life.” Zac spat back at me.
“What did he do?” I asked. I had a pretty good guess, Josh was not at all fond of his brother’s latest crush and, knowing Josh, he had probably voiced his opinions, rather clearly, to Zac.
“He caught me with cigarettes, which I DIDN’T smoke, and I wasn't planning to, and he then accused me of smoking to impress Trisha.” Zac ranted, anger coming through in his voice.
I shut my eyes, of course Josh would do that.
“We got into a huge fight.” He added. “Then he... stormed out...” His voice trailed off, making me wonder what exactly had made Josh leave.
“I don’t know, he’s probably downtown by now.” Zac said. “And he can stay there, I don’t want to see his stupid face anytime soon.
I sighed and looked at the clock above my oven. “Alright, I’ll talk to you later Z.”
“Yeah whatever.” Zac replied.
“You guys are gonna make up right?” I asked, knowing that they were too close to stay mad forever.
Zac sighed. “I dunno Hayles.”
“Oh Zac come on, it’s just a girl.” I sighed.
“Uh, yeah…” He said slowly. “Ok, talk to you later.” He hung up quickly, before I could ask any more questions. Seconds later my phone buzzed with a new text.
‘Where are you? I see J-fizzle but I can’t find you. ~Hales
“Damn it Josh.” I said to myself. He really had forgotten me. Not exactly a great thing to do to your girlfriend, even if you are overly pissed at your brother. I grabbed my keys and hurried out the door to go find him and see what exactly had happened between he and Zac.

“Hayley!” Taylor called as I entered the bar everyone was supposed to meet at. He, Leila and Haley stepped in front of me, blocking me from getting too far in.
“We were just about to go outside.” Leila said with a smile. She had her fake smile on, setting off alarm bells in my head. I instantly knew something was wrong but she and Taylor escorted me out of the bar before I could attempt to figure out what it was.
“Talk.” I said as soon as the let go of me.
“Uh, ok. How are you?” Taylor asked. I rolled my eyes.
“You know what I mean.” I said. “Spit it out, what am I not supposed to be seeing?”
“Nothing.” Haley said quickly. “Why would you say that?”
“Alright, fine.” I said, raising my eyebrows. I darted past the trio quickly and hurried back to the bar.
“Hayley!” Leila called. I felt a strong hand grab my arm and yank me back.
“Ouch!” I yelped. “Taylor! That hurt!” I said angrily, rubbing my arm.
“Sorry.” He mumbled. Leila sighed, setting off the alarms in my head again. A Leila sigh was never a good sigh.
“Josh…” She started. “Uh, Hayley, he… he was kissing someone else.” My eyes went wide and I felt like the wind had been knocked out of me.
“K-kissed?” I asked breathlessly. “Or made-out?” Leila winced but didn’t reply.
“Who?” I asked. I still didn’t get a reply. “I need to know Leila.” I said dangerously.
“Natasha.” She said in a whisper. My heart stopped.
I felt surprisingly calm as I turned on my heel and headed back toward the bar.
“Hayley please!” Haley called after me.
“Hayley…” Taylor said, trying to stop me again. I shrugged his hand off my shoulder and continued walking up the stairs to the entryway. I was on a mission, no one was going to stop me.
As I entered the place, my eyes scanned the dank, smoky room for Josh. I spotted him standing by Ajax, who was yelling at Josh, face red with anger. I marched myself over to the two and tapped Josh on the shoulder.
He turned slowly and I watched a grin spread across his face as he saw me. I raised my hand into the air…
“Hayl- ah!”
The noise of the slap echoed through the room and several people turned to see what was going on. Josh rubbed the side of his face where the mark from my hand burned steadily red.  I turned around quickly and hurried out of the bar, anger flowing through my veins. How could he?

I was halfway down the street before Josh caught up to me.
“Hayley!” He gasped, out of breath from running.
“Don’t talk to me.” I spat.
“What happened?” He asked. “What did I do?”
“What did you do?!” I yelped in astonishment, spinning around to look at him. He wobbled unsteadily on his feet.
“A-are you drunk?” I asked, shocked. Josh did not drink. Every once and a while, he would have a beer with his dad or with Ajax and Jeremy, but he never had more than a few. And he definitely never got full-on drunk.
“Hayley, ” he said, nodding is head a bit and widening his eyes, “I’m older than twenty-one!” He giggled, holding out first, two fingers, and then one as he said the number.
“It’s ok for me to drink!” He added in a whisper.
“Why were you drinking?” I asked, momentarily forgetting that I was completely furious with him.
He twisted his face into an odd expression and shrugged, nearly falling over.
“Whoa!” He laughed, reaching out to me for support as he wobbled. He looked down at the ground, as if he was trying to tell it to stop moving about on him.
“Oh.” He said suddenly. He looked up at me, eyes glazed over with…tears?
“I remember now.” He said quietly. “Zac. He did it. He pissed me off so I…. ahaha pissed is a funny word.” He laughed, holding his stomach.
“What did Zac say?” I asked, annoyed. It was like trying to talk to a three-year-old.
“Umm…” He thought hard. “Oh! He said you don’t love me. That you never did. And that I didn’t deserve you.” I shut my eyes and sighed.
“You do love me, don’t you?” He asked, concerned. I opened my mouth to reply but quickly shut it again, finally remembering why I had stormed out of the bar in the first place.
“Uh oh.” Josh said. His face went pale and he began sweating a bit. I backed away quickly as he doubled over and puked next to a tree.
“Shit.” I mumbled as I saw a police car heading our way. I was sure vomiting on the side of the road was some sort of punishable offense and, as much as I would have liked Josh to get carted off to jail for the night, I couldn’t make myself leave him there. I grabbed his arm and dragged him across the sidewalk and into a nearby dog park. Josh groaned once more as I pulled him along.
“Trash can!” I said quickly, shoving him to the nearest bin as he began to be sick again.
“I don’t like this.” Josh whined. I rolled my eyes and nearly punched him square in the gut. He totally deserved this.
“Come on.” I sighed, pulling out my phone.
“Zac, Josh is drunk, I’m bringing him home.” I said as Zac answered.
“I don’t think that’s a great idea.” Zac said.
“Oh come on. He’s your brother.” I said.
“Yeah, but right now we’re probably gonna beat the shit out of each other.” He replied. “So I think it’s best if he stays with you until we both calm down a bit.”
“Zac please.” I begged. “I-I can’t.” Tears started flowing from my eyes. “I can’t do this. He can’t stay with me.”
“Whoa, Hayles what’s wrong?” He asked.
“Nothing.” I sighed. “I’ll figure something out. I’ll call you tomorrow.” I hung up quickly and wiped my eyes.
“Come on.” I yanked Josh’s arm.
“Ouch! You’re hurting me.” He complained.
“Good.” I spat, squeezing his arm a bit tighter.
“Ah! Seriously! That hurts.” He said.

Once we were at my place I turned on the light and looked at Josh.
“Gross.” I muttered. He had a bit of dried vomit running down his shirt. “Shirt off.” I said. Josh obeyed quietly, at least he was finally catching on to the fact that I was angry with him. I was completely furious with myself for giving in and letting Josh crash at my place, I couldn’t stand to look at him right now. Damn my conscience, I should have left him on the street, or at least handed him off for Ajax to deal with.
Josh dropped his shirt on the floor and looked around.
“Couch.” I ordered, pulling my leopard print pillows off the couch and throwing them into the kitchen. Josh nodded obediently and laid down on the couch.
“Can I have a pillow and blanket?” He asked.
“No.” I said shortly, dropping a waste bin on the floor next to him in case he felt the need to be sick again.
“If you throw up on my carpet or my couch you’re a dead man.” I said coldly.

I settled in to bed, forcing myself not to think about that evening’s events. Maybe it would all be a bad dream. Maybe Haley, Leila and Taylor had seen someone else kissing Natasha and thought it was Josh. I knew it was wishful thinking, but I hoped nonetheless. Haley knocked on my door a few times, but each time, I turned her away. I needed to be alone right now.
Every fifteen minutes or so, I heard Josh stumble by my bedroom to use the bathroom. I guess what everyone says about alcohol going right through your system was true. Every time he walked by and didn’t come in to my room, I got closer to tears. Each bathroom trip was a cruel reminder that he was not sleeping with me, that he had hurt me.
I finally broke down after his third or fourth bathroom trip, and sobbed into my pillow. Seconds later, Haley let herself in to my room and pulled me into a hug. She didn’t say anything, which I was grateful for, she just hugged me and let me cry.
I don’t know how long I cried for before I fell asleep, but it felt like hours.

Ehhh I’m mad at myself for going with the cliché ‘he-kissed-another-girl’ storyline, but whatever. Kinda mixed it up a bit with the drunken-ness?? Sorta…kinda… :/
oh well, writing drunk-Josh was kinda fun. hehe

Memory (Chapter 15)

Wow… this chapter totally kicked my ass. I’m still not incredibly happy with it… but it’s definitely better than what I had written before.

-Hayley’s POV-

I smiled as Josh placed his hand over mine. We were on a flight back from a speed-tour of Europe. It was our last tour before we got a much needed break and then, a few day’s after Jeremy’s birthday, we were off to the studio once more and a new album slated for late May or early June.
Things in Josh-and-Hayley-land were great. I’d never felt as loved as I did when I was around him. He always did little sweet things for me, like making sure there was a nice hot cup of tea ready for me when I woke up, or just playing his guitar.
I know playing the guitar doesn’t sound like much, but it always made me smile when he just fooled around with his guitar when we were together. It was incredible to see his writing process. Usually, he wrote on his own and brought stuff to me later. To see it as it happened made me feel like he truly trusted me and valued my opinion.
“Ah! You’re Hayley and Josh aren’t you!!” a girl grinned as she made her way to the bathroom. Josh’s hand shot away from mine as the girl stopped to look at us.
And there was his only flaw. Josh was terrified of PDA. It annoyed me to no end. It’s not like I want him to make out with me in public, but a little hand holding wouldn’t kill him. I sighed and turned back to the fan, plastering a fake smile on my face.
“Yeah! What’s your name?” I asked, feigning excitement.
“I’m Emily.” She grinned happily. “Ah! Is that Jeremy and Zac?!” Her eyes went wide as she spotted the guys behind us. “Where’s Taylor?”
“Uh, Hi.” Zac said quietly, taking his earbuds out of his ears.

Once Emily left, Josh turned to me and raised his eyebrows. “You ok?” He asked.
“Fine, why do you ask?” I replied.
“Well, you seemed a little pissed at me.” He said quietly. I blushed. He picked up on everything.
“Uh, no not pissed.” I replied, looking to the floor. I felt his fingers under my chin and he pulled my face up so I was looking at him.
“What?” He asked quietly. “What did I do? I want to know.” He smiled reassuringly. I melted as I looked into his eyes. I shook my head and laughed.
“It’s silly…” I said.
“Nope.” He replied, smiling. “Tell me.”
“Ugh, well, it’s just… would it kill you to hold my hand in every once and a while?” I asked. I felt a blush creep in high on my cheeks, I felt ridiculous.
“What do you mean?” He asked. “I do hold your hand.”
“I mean, in front of people.” I said quietly. He paused and nodded slowly.
“Well… I guess I’m just not sure if we were ready to tell fans, so I always pull away in public.” He said honestly.
“Oh.” I replied. I guess I could understand that, I still didn’t really like it though. Every time I saw other couples in public, I felt like I was missing out. I mean, I love Josh, and I’m happy to be with him, and that should be enough. But for some reason, it wasn’t. A selfish part of me wanted everyone to know he was mine.
“Hey, look, I’m sorry. I just want everyone to focus on the music, not us.” He said quietly.
“I guess you’re right. I never thought of it like that.” I replied. It was the sad truth, once our relationship was out in the open, most people would focus on Josh and I, rather than the band and the music.
“I love you.” He said, pouting. I laughed and ruffled his hair.
“It’s ok, I understand. Love you too.” I smiled.

-Zac’s POV-

I can’t believe Jeremy’s plan actually worked. I had made a few adjustments to his plan, but either way, it worked! Josh and Hayley were together. I smiled to myself and leaned back in the plane seat.
The plane started to bounce around a bit from turbulence and the ‘buckle up’ symbol lit up. I dug around for my seat belt and Jeremy nudged my side gently.
“Look!” He whispered, nodding over toward Hayley and Josh. Josh was looking around nervously and shifting closer to Hayley. Josh hated flying. Hayley too.
Josh put his arm around Hayley, looking slightly calmer, and she grinned and rested her head on his shoulder happily.
“We did good.” I said proudly. Jeremy rolled his eyes.
“I hate that we interfered.” He sighed.
“It was gonna happen eventually.” I frowned. Jeremy always did this. “We just sped up the process.” I added. Jeremy shrugged and nodded.
“Still…” He frowned. “I guess I just hate being matchmaker.”
“Uh huh.” I sighed. “Why can’t you just be happy?” I laughed.
“I am happy!” He replied. “They needed this, they’re great together. It’s great. I just feel weird about it.”
“Don’t.” I groaned. “Seriously, there is nothing wrong with what we did, they both know we did it. They’re happy, we’re happy, nothing wrong with that.”
“You’re right.” Jeremy sighed.

-Josh’s POV-

I leaned against Hayley’s door, resting my arm on the doorframe above my head, and knocked.
“Well hello there sexy.” Hayley grinned as she spotted me. I wrapped my arms around her waist, I loved the feeling of having her in my arms.
“We’re going out.” I whispered in her ear before kissing her jaw.
“Can’t we stay in?” She groaned. I laughed as I watched her eyes flutter shut. “You look so damn sexy.” She bit her lip as she looked me over.
“You too.” I smiled. “Come on though, I want to take you out to dinner.” I pulled back and dragged her to the door.
“Hold on.” She said. She grabbed a small purse and walked slowly up to me. She dragged her fingers along my waist.
“Let’s go.” She smiled, raising her eyebrows as I shuddered under her touch. Damn, I was too weak when it came to Hayley.
“Little minx.” I joked. She giggled and dragged me out the door.

“Is there anything else I can get for you?” The waitress asked for the fiftieth time.
“Once again, no.” I replied. “We’re leaving a big tip, so I don’t see what the big deal is if we stay a while.”
“It’s just that we’re closing sir.” The waitress replied quietly. “I’m sorry.”
“We’re on our way out.” Hayley replied before I had a chance to say anything. The waitress smiled and hurried away.
“Lets go, there are plenty of other places where we can talk.” Hayley said to me.
“Yeah, yeah.” I grumbled, filling out the tip section on the bill. “She totally doesn’t deserve this tip. Let’s go.” I stood up. I held out my hand for Hayley and helped her up.
“Where to?” I asked. Hayley turned and placed her hands on my waist.
“Wherever.” She replied, standing on her toes and kissing me slowly.
“Mmm.” I sighed. “How about your place?” I grinned.
“No.” Hayley laughed.
“Mine?” I asked. She shook her head again.
“Somewhere where you wont pounce on me.” She giggled. I laughed and led her to the car. I couldn’t help it, something about her made me lose control of myself.

-Hayley’s POV-

I had no idea what to do when it came time to go home. I knew Josh would want to come up to my place, and I wanted him to. But I didn’t really know how far things would go, or how far I wanted things to go.
All night, there had been… I don’t know… just this tension between us. Good tension, it was fun, exciting and scary all at once. I guess it was a little strange too. I mean, Josh had been my best friend for years now, just my friend.
Suddenly we were more than friends. It still felt a bit strange to be kissing my best friend, but it was definitely exciting, and I loved him so much. He made my knees weak, as stupid as that sounds. I don’t know how we hadn’t realized this before.
I looked up at Josh and smiled. The moonlight made his eyes glow and cast deep shadows over his face. He looked… irresistible.
“What?” He asked, a half smile crossing over his face.
“You look incredible.” I smiled, blushing slightly. He shifted closer to me on the small park bench we were sitting on.
“So do you.” He whispered. He ran his finger gently along my jaw line. I sighed and closed my eyes, enjoying the feeling.
“Gosh, you do crazy things to me boy!” I laughed.
“You do crazier things to me.” Josh smiled back. “I can’t even think straight when I’m around you.” He leaned closer and kissed me lightly.
“Hey! Move it along kids!” An angry voice called. Josh jumped back in shock. We looked over to see a policeman patrolling the park.
“Sorry sir.” Josh replied quietly. Luckily, he and I were hidden in the shadows of a nearby tree, so there was no chance for the man to possibly recognize us.
“Guess we should find somewhere else to go.” Josh sighed as the policeman walked away. “No one likes us tonight.”
I laughed and stood up. “Scary movie at my place? For old times sake?” I asked. “I promise no one will kick us out or yell at us.”
“Scary movies? Not even a question.” Josh laughed. “Let’s go.”
“Movies only.” I said sternly.
“We’ll see.” Josh replied with a sneaky grin. I smiled, secretly hoping that ‘we’ll see’ turned into ‘not a chance in hell that we’ll even get the movie into the DVD player.’

Kinda random and …ehh. But whatever. I’m still trying to figure a few things out about where I want this to go, but I will say, get ready for some drama. ;)
I think we’re nearing the end here… just so you know.

Memory (Chapter 14)

I gave up on editing this one… I’m too lazy and I’m talking to Laura on MSN so I keep getting distracted by her awesome-ness. XD
This will be the last ‘flashback’ chapter, it’s not as ‘realistic’ as the other flashback chapters have been. Haha. Decided to mix it up a bit. ;)

-Jeremy’s POV-

“I can’t believe you used to wear guy jeans.” Hayley laughed as she looked at my most recent purchase, a pair of tight black pants.
In a team effort, Zac, Hunter and Josh had managed to forcibly shove me in into some tight jeans one day, or ball busters as Hayley so nicely called them, and ever since that day, there was no going back. I always wore tight jeans now, no more guy jeans for Schzimmy.
We were on our first Warped Tour with an actual bus. It was so much nicer than a twelve-passenger van, but in some ways, it sucked. Whenever it rained, water seeped in through worn seams around the windows of the aging bus.
I wasn’t going to complain too much though. This was amazing. We were on the freaking w.a.r.p.e.d. t.o.u.r! Us! Five (mostly) teenagers from a relatively small city in Tennessee! It was amazing.
“Dude! You guys, Zac and Hunter should all wear your black ball busters for our set today!” She giggled at Josh and I.
“Every time you say ‘ball busters’ I cringe.” Josh laughed. “That term makes them sound really painful.”
“Ball busters!” Hayley sang. Josh shook his shoulders excessively, pretending to cringe.
“I came back for this?” I joked as Hayley continued teasing us.
We tended to joke about my short sabbatical from he band. It just made it easier that way. The second that plane took off, realization hit me smack in the face, it was like slamming in to a freaking brick wall, and I realized I didn’t want to leave.
But I couldn’t exactly go back. I was too stubborn to admit I was wrong. Plus, I figured they hated me.
I smiled as I saw Hayley rest her head on Josh’s shoulder with a yawn. Why the hell were they not together yet? They were perfect for each other.
Zac was always scheming and thinking up ways to get the two together, but his plans always failed miserably. Hayley and Josh were too oblivious. Oh, well, better for the band if they weren’t together I suppose.
“Come on, we play in an hour.” Zac grinned as he exited the bunk area.

~*~

I smiled as Hayley turned her microphone stand toward Josh’s I mean, her right side, of the stage as we finished up “My Heart.” Yeah, yeah, the song had that religious note, it was about our faith, but still, when she turned toward Josh’s side of the stage, I couldn’t help thinking the song was inadvertently aimed at him as well.
Hayley certainly didn’t actively mean for the song to be about Josh. Like I said, both of them were oblivious to the fact that they could be more than friends. But I think deep down, her subconscious wrote it, or at the very least sang it, with Josh in mind.
Ah, I was thinking about muddling in things that didn’t need to be muddled with again. If they were going to get together, they would. They didn’t need my help. Or Zac’s. At least not yet. If things were still like this in a few years, I’d revisit the idea of intervening, but for now, I’d have to let it be.

-Zac’s POV-

“You suck so hard!” Hayley giggled, shoving Josh playfully. He had a hot pocket, she wanted a bite, he wouldn’t give it to her, enough said.
I sighed, why couldn’t they see how they looked together? It frustrated me to no end that Jeremy wouldn’t help me get them together. He was always saying, “It’ll happen when it happens.” But I seriously doubted him.
All I wanted was for them to be happy. If Josh was having a rough day, all I had to do was stick Hayley in a room with him and he was grinning in seconds. It was the same case if Hayley was having a bad day. They were always so happy together.

“Zac!” Josh yelled, waving his hand in my face.
“Huh? What?” I jumped, snapping back into reality.
“I asked if you wanted a bite of my hot pocket.” Josh laughed. I glanced at Hayley. She had her arms crossed and she was pouting.
“Oh, sure.” I grinned.
“Not fair!” Hayley wailed. “I’m hungry!” I took the hot pocket from Josh and took a huge bite.
“Mmm! Hayley! This is so good! You really should try some.” I teased.
“Hey! Not such a big bite!” Josh complained.
“Sowwy” I replied through a mouthful of the pizza. I looked at Hayley and nodded subtly. She grinned and nodded back in understanding.
“Oops! I dropped it!” I said, throwing the hot pocket gently. Hayley snatched it from me and shoved it in her mouth.
“Hah! I win!” Hayley grinned. Sauce rolled down her chin as she began chewing what was left of the pizza. Josh hung his head in defeat.
“Stabbed in the back by my own brother.” He shook his head.
“Hos over bros.” I laughed.
“Hey!” Hayley screeched.
“You know I’m kidding.” I laughed.
“Don’t!” Josh said sternly. Wow, overprotective much? Thanks for proving my point Josh! You know you love her!
“Besides,” Josh continued quickly, “you got it backwards, its ‘bros over hos’”
“I know what I said.” I replied with a grin. “Hayley’s like a sister, I couldn’t let my sister starve now could I?” Josh rolled his eyes.
Hayley stood and dug around the tiny freezer for another hot pocket. “There, all better.” She smiled as she cooked up another hot pocket and handed it to Josh.
“Who wants to check out New Found Glory with me?” Hunter asked as he ran onto the bus. “They’re supposed to be really good.”
“I’m tired.” Hayley yawned. “I’ll catch them next time.”
“Their last day on Warped is today.” Hunter complained.
“I’ll catch them next year then.” She replied. “You go have fun though.”
“I think I’ll stay here too.” Josh said, nodding to his fresh hot pocket. “I’m eating anyway.”
“I’ll go.” I shrugged. That meant Hayley and Josh would be alone on the bus. Ha!
“You sure you two don’t want to come?” Hunter asked one more time. “I know you’d like them, especially you Hayles.”
“I’m good.” Josh answered. “Gonna work on some new stuff I think.” He patted the guitar next to him.
“Next year!” Hayley repeated. “I’m gonna die of exhaustion right now. There’s plenty of time to fall in love with a new band later.”

eh kinda boring. Sorry. It gets more exciting though. lol
I just realized I don’t really know where this fic is going… hahaha. I have the ‘drama’ part, but I have to think of something that gets me from here to there… hmm. *thinks*

Maine

So, over the past few days, I’ve been thinking about how much Maine sucks. Haha. So I decided to make a list of cool people and things in/from Maine to try to make me feel better. It worked. (for now, haha)
Anyway, I thought I’d share and show you guys a bit of the "cool side” of Maine.

Bands/Musicians (Only listing a few)

The Killing Moon (Hampden) – They’re on the "Punk Goes 90's" cd.
Ahh, I remember going to a few of their shows when they were still called "Animal Suit Driveby"... haha. If you haven't checked them out, seriously, head to purevolume and take a listen. I’m serious! Go NOW!!! :D They're on iTunes too.

Too Late the Hero (Berwick) – Another great band. Again, if you haven't heard them GO LISTEN!! Also on purevolume/iTunes.

Soundbender (Bangor) – Not really well known, YET! They're excellent though. New record comes out Monday! yay. They’re on purevolume too, but their MySpace has more/better songs if you want to listen.

More well known musicans:
Ray Lamontagne (Lewiston) – My dad loves him. I think he’s pretty cool too. lol.
Howie Day (Brewer)

Actors/Actresses/Other Famous People from Maine:
McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey) Lewiston – I (kinda) met him once, he seems really nice.

Stephen King (Portland/Bangor) – For those who don't know (I have yet to meet someone who doesn't know about him...), he's an author of mostly horror themed books. His books are amazing.
Not the reading type? A lot of his books are movies too; anyone seen Cujo? The Green Mile? The Shining? Yep, all based on Stephen King books. He has (fake) bats on the gate in front of his, slightly creepy looking, house, I think that's awesome. I <3 Stephen King...

Bob Marley (Portland) – The comedian, not the musician! haha. He's really, really funny. "Dude! Don't be such a dink!"

Liv Tyler (Portland) – Totally didn't know that until today! Thought I might have heard about that before now...

Other random stuff I find cool:

Vic Firth "The World's Largest Manufacturer of Drumsticks and Mallets" & Vic Firth Gourmet (Newport, Maine) – Jason McGerr (Drummer for Death Cab for Cutie :O !!) uses Vic Firth sticks. My friend tried to tell me that Zac uses Vic Firth but I'm 99.9% sure he uses Pro-Mark sticks. lol. Oh well, I'll have to convert him. :P ooooor not...
At my house, we have some salt and pepper grinders from Vic Firth, they are amazing, they’re so smooth. That sounds weird, but it's true... haha. Excellent quality.

L.L.Bean (Freeport) - This place is amazing. If you live in Maine and don't own an L.L.Bean backpack, you aren't a true Mainer. They sell a lot of outdoors type things. Like hiking boots/gear, fishing stuff, biking stuff and a TON of other stuff. They're open 24/7 in Freeport. They never close. Seriously. Even for Christmas. L.L. Bean is AWESOME.

Old Town Canoes/Kayaks (Old Town) - Kayaking is sooooo much fun.

The coast - It's so pretty. Sometimes I go sit on some rocks by the ocean (when I have time to get to the coast anyway...) and just think in the summer. :) Most of Maine's coastline is composed of lots of rock and not too many beaches.  haha. The two well known beaches are Old Orchard (<3) and Sand Beach at Acadia Ntnl Park in Bar Harbor. There are also a ton of beaches around the lakes here.

Tourism (Everywhere) – This can be annoying too... but mostly, it's fun and cool. Lots of pretty boys to look at! hahahhahaha. Anyway, they don't call us "the Vacation State" for nothing people! We get like 930284357893427209 people coming to visit every year. (Many from Germany? (in the summer anyway) Don't know why... We get a lot of Canadians too because we share a border.)
Lots of beachgoers/hikers in the summer @ OOB/Acadia/Appilacian Trail/Baxter State Park, we also have the American Folk Festival in Bangor in August that brings in TOOOOOOONS of people from all over the world. Lots of skiing in the winter too. Oh, and can't forget the "Leaf Peepers!!" (people who come to see the leaves change color in the fall.)
I swear, every summer my house turns in to a hotel for out-of-state relatives/friends who want to come to the beach "visit my family and I".

Ok, so now I feel ridiculous for posting this. But whatever, it makes me feel a bit better about where I live in so HA!
I'll leave you with some pretty pics:

(O.O.B. [Old Orchard Beach] Looooooove OOB!!)

(Fall foliage for those leaf peepers.)

(Sugarloaf. So much fun!)

btw, all these pics are from google. haha. Just in case you were wondering. Sorry for the picture overload...

Memory (Chapter 13)

Still a flashback/memory/whatever you want to call it. :) Kind 'filler'-ish
Enjoy!

-Josh’s POV-

I hate being wrong. Although in this case I guess being wrong was a good thing. Jeremy and I were almost inseparable now. He was a really cool guy once you got past the looks. As for the band, well, a guy called John Janick took a liking to us. We had signed with his small record company, Fueled By Ramen, a few weeks ago and things were moving fast. It was insane. In just a few short weeks after Janick saw us play, we were in Florida preparing to record. I had barely even had a chance to say goodbye to family and friends before we were carted off to record.
Nothing felt real yet, I wasn’t sure if it ever would. My dreams were coming true, though it definitely didn’t feel like they were. I needed time to just think and soak everything in. What the hell had happened? One day were in Franklin, playing small shows and just having fun and the next were in some hotel or condo or whatever the hell this place was, with only each other as family.
Zac and Hayley were obviously loving the situation, they were always hyper and they were definitely enjoying the fact that there was little parental supervision. Don’t get me wrong, I was loving it too, it was just a huge shock that I had yet to recover from.
I was starting to get really nervous about the whole thing; we started recording tomorrow. We had some pretty solid ideas for what we wanted to put on our first real record, but there was still a lot to work out. I sighed and rolled over in my uncomfortable bed, willing myself to sleep.
Maybe I just needed to talk about my concerns with someone…

~*~

“I-I can’t do this.” I said, looking around to my band mates. “It’s too fast. I don’t… I don’t know, I just can’t.”
Zac, Jeremy and Jason hung with their mouths wide open in shock. I couldn’t bring myself to look at Hayley. We all loved music, but Hayley and I shared a special passion for it, we lived and breathed music. I felt like I was completely shattering her dream by leaving.
“Josh,” she said, placing a hand on my shoulder, “I know you’re scared, I am too. But we can do this! And if the whole thing turns out to be a big flop, who cares. We just go back home and keep playing local shows. No big deal.” I looked at her and she smiled reassuringly.
“I don’t know Hayley… I need time.” I replied.
“Josh, we record tomorrow, you don’t have time.” She said, getting angry.
“I need time.” I repeated. I found it increasingly hard to draw a breath. “I don’t understand how this happened so fast, I need time!” I began to panic as my lungs refused to fill with air.
“Too fast!” I gasped, grasping at my throat, trying to breathe. “Need time.”

I sat up straight in my bed, sweating profusely. My lungs were on fire. I took a huge gulp of air and looked around. Zac was snoring lightly next to me, Jason was sprawled across the bed next to mine and Jeremy was nowhere to be seen.
I sighed in relief, it had just been a dream. I didn’t realize how hard I was panting until Zac stirred next to me and mumbled a quiet “Shut up.” I stood from the bed and left the room, I needed fresh air.
“Oh!” Jeremy said quickly as I entered the main room. “Uh, hi.” He shut his laptop quickly and turned to face me. I smirked and shook my head before collapsing next to him.
“Why are you up?” Jeremy asked.
“Nightmare about recording.” I replied with a yawn. Jeremy nodded slowly.
“I feel ya.” He said somewhat hesitantly. I could tell he felt a little awkward, probably because I had inadvertently caught him on whatever dirty website he had probably been visiting.
“If it doesn’t work out though, all we do is go back home and keep doing what we were doing before this madness.” I sighed, remembering what Hayley had said in my dream.
Jeremy nodded but didn’t say anything. It was unusual for him to be this quiet, but he was probably just nervous about our impending studio time.
“I’m gonna get some sleep.” Jeremy said slowly.  I frowned, he looked… ashamed of himself.

~*~

“We’re recording a bleeping RECORD today!” Zac screamed as we left our FBR provided lodging. He and Hayley had been bouncing up and down all morning. Even I was getting excited.
We stopped at Starbucks before heading to the studio. Once we arrived, they told us to go ahead and look around the place for a bit, we wouldn’t be starting for another hour or two.
After familiarizing ourselves with the small studio, Zac and Jason ran outside to blow off some excitement with a football while Hayley cheered them on.
“Over here!” I yelled, holding out my hands. Zac hurled the ball at me and I caught it, diving into the grass exaggeratedly.
“You in?” I looked over to Jeremy. He shook his head, looking like he might be sick.
“What’s up?” I asked with a frown.
“Uh, I need to talk to you guys.” He said quietly. We all walked over curiously and stood in a circle around him.
“Well, uh, I don’t really know how to say this.” Jeremy started. “I mean, this is all so awesome for you guys and uh…”
“For us? What about you?” Hayley questioned. “It’s your dream too.”
“Uh, yeah.” Jeremy said, getting visibly more nervous by the second. “But… I don’t know, I’ve been thinking and…” He paused. I felt my heart sink.
“Guys, I – I don’t think I can do it.” He admitted. “I need to figure some stuff out, see if this is really what I want to do.”
“Well, we don’t start recording your parts for a few days.” Hayley said, surprisingly calmly. “Why don’t you hang out at the hotel and just relax for a bit.” I shook my head. No, Jeremy had other plans. The incident with the computer last night suddenly made sense, he had booked a flight home.
“I don’t think that’s gonna work.” Jeremy said quietly. “I’m leaving in an hour.” No one said a word.
“Hey guys!” Some man yelled from the doorway to the studio. “You’ve just booked your first tour!”
“Fuck off!” Jason yelled back angrily. The man, looking thoroughly confused, not to mention slightly scared, turned and hurried back inside.
I saw tears spring to Hayley’s eyes and she hugged Jeremy tightly. As quickly as she had rushed forward to hug him, she was gone again, running away. Zac and Jason stood in shock while anger, mixed with understanding, flooded my veins.
“I can’t believe you.” Jason said quietly.
“Why didn’t you say something sooner?” Zac demanded. “You can’t just leave us! It’s not fair! You ass–”
“Zac.” I snapped. “Don’t.”
“Jeremy.” I turned to face him. He was looking at Hayley, who had collapsed in the parking lot a few hundred feet away.
“Jeremy,” I repeated, “What if you went home for a bit and then maybe came back.” I reasoned. He frowned in response. “Yeah, I thought that was a long shot.” I mumbled.
“I’m so sorry guys.” He said quietly. “I guess I’ll see you around.”

Aww. :( Well, we all know the outcome so it's not too sad. hah
I think there's only gonna be one more flashback chapter. I'm gonna go about it slightly differently though (a.k.a. not gonna be from Josh's memories) lol
