Memory (Chapter 12)

So much for not updating for a few days... haha. I had a huge writing streak today. yay.
:)
Kinda crappy-ish because I wrote it out in like half an hour and I'm not in the mood to go back and make it better. Oh well.
Enjoy!
Oh! This chapter is a flashback by the way. :) Went from Josh's memories instead of Hayley's this time.

-Josh’s POV-

Hayley was getting more and more comfortable with being my friend every day, although she was still guarded whenever Joel or any of the other ‘popular’ kids came up to talk to me at school.
Never in my wildest dreams did I think Hayley and I would end up being friends. Even after she showed me her poem before school we never really hung out or talked. We were certainly a bit friendlier toward each other at that point, but we definitely weren’t buddy-buddy.
No, that was all on my brother. He made the three of us hang out constantly. And by constantly, I mean all the fucking time. He was convinced Hayley and I would be great friends, and that Hayley could join our band and we could really take off.

Well, as much as I hated to say it, my little brother was right. Hayley and I weren’t great friends yet, but we were well on our way. And she had been the singer of our band for a few weeks now. The only thing that was missing was a bassist.
But Hayley, always the prepared one, knew how to solve the problem. Apparently her mother had found a flyer a few weeks back saying that a funk cover band was in need of a new singer. Hayley had tried out, and got the position. Apparently the bassist in the band was ‘a-freaking-mazing’ and would be perfect. We were going to meet him today.

“Come on Zac.” I yawned at I pulled myself out of bed. “We’re gonna be late to meet Davis.”
“It’s Jeremy.” Zac said. I looked over to my brother, he was already dressed, sitting patiently on his bed for me to wake up. He looked like a kid at Christmas, waiting to go downstairs and see what Santa had brought.
“His last name is Davis, not his first.” He corrected.
“Whatever.” I yawned again.
“Hurry up!” Zac called after me as I grabbed a towel and headed for the shower.

I shut my eyes and smiled as I took a gulp of my coffee. I loved the feeling of the hot liquid warming my throat on its way down. Starbucks coffee was like a freaking drug for me.
“He’s here!” Hayley grinned suddenly as a van pulled into the parking lot. A tall, skinny guy with long blonde hair stepped out of the van.
“AHHH!!!!!” Zac ran out of the coffee shop excitedly and launched himself onto this Jeremy guy’s van. Jeremy raised his eyebrows in shock and looked a little pissed. Great job Zac.
“Uh hi?” Jeremy said as Zac climbed off the van.
“Hi! I’m Zac.” Zac grinned. “Hayley says you play bass. I play drums!”
“How old are you?” Jeremy asked.
“13!” Zac grinned.
“Sorry, Zac was dropped on his head as a baby.” I said, hurrying over before he did any more damage. We really couldn’t afford to scare this guy off. “Just ignore him.”
“13?” I heard Jeremy whisper to Hayley as she hurried over as well. He didn’t seem impressed.
“Just listen to him play.” She whispered back.
“I’m Josh.” I said, holding my hand out.
“Jeremy.” The boy replied, taking my hand and shaking. I looked him over, he looked…ghetto. White boy ghetto. He had a bandana on his head and all sorts of different colored shoelaces tied as bracelets on his wrists. What was Hayley thinking?
Hayley must have been able to read my mind as she whispered to me.
“Just listen to him play.” She said, repeating what she had said to Jeremy about Zac.
“So, uh wanna head back to my place and we can play a few songs, get to know each other a bit better?” I suggested. Hayley and Zac grinned and nodded eagerly. Jeremy looked hesitant, but agreed nonetheless.

“Wow.” Jeremy said, impressed as Zac finished playing a short drum solo he’d been working on. “That was… actually really good.”
“Of course it was good.” I snapped. I was very protective of Zac, even if he annoyed the crap out of me sometimes. It was one of those ‘no one can make fun of him but me’ things I guess. Hayley shot me a warning glare that clearly said, “be nice or else.” I rolled my eyes back at her. I honestly didn’t think Jeremy was going to work out. And, by the looks of it, he didn’t think he would either.
“Jeremy, why don’t you show us your mad skills.” Hayley said with a smile. “Prove to them that you’re as great as I’ve been saying you are.” Jeremy grinned at her and pulled out his bass.

~*~

Ok, so Jeremy was good. I still didn’t think it was going to work out. All we did was butt-heads. We disagreed on everything. But he really was too good to kick out. At least not until we found another bass player who was halfway decent.
He was so… weird. He liked rap music. He liked rock too, but he dressed like some crazy white-boy-rapper-wannabe. If he wanted to fit in with this band he was gonna have to start wearing normal clothes.
One thing we did have in common was our love for cereal, and food in general.
“So, are you and Hayley like, together or something?” Jeremy asked through a mouthful of Cap’n Crunch. I felt myself blush.
“Uh no.” I replied with a laugh. “Far from it actually. She just got over hating my guts.”
“Why would she hate you?” He asked.
“I had stupid friends.” I explained. I didn’t feel like elaborating much.
“Oh.” Jeremy replied. We sat in awkward silence until Hayley came to the rescue.
“Aw, look at you two! Getting along better every day.” She smiled as she ruffled our hair.
“Right…” I said slowly.
“Uh…” Jeremy said at the same time. Hayley laughed and grabbed the cereal box.
“You two will be best friends eventually. You’re more alike than you think.” She said knowingly.
“Hayles… you know you’re pouring two bowls of cereal right?” I asked. She nodded.
“I know you want to grow, but that’s just gonna make you fat.” Jeremy advised.
“Not for me.” She said. Just as the words left her mouth, my brother came tearing through the kitchen.
“Oh! Cereal!” Zac gasped.
“Already got you some.” Hayley handed over her extra bowl.
“YES!” Zac grinned, taking the bowl and filling it with milk. Of course, Hayley was making an extra bowl for Zac. She was always thoughtful like that.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! :D

Memory (Chapter 11)

hahahahhha mischievousness is my new favorite word. Try saying it! It’s fun. XD
Enjoy!!
More flashbacks soon by the way. :)

-Josh’s POV-

Well, that wasn’t too bad. Tracy was obviously not incredibly thrilled that I had found someone else, but I think she kind of saw it coming really. I didn’t tell her Hayley was ‘the other woman’ but I think she knew. She had always been a bit wary when it came to Hayley and I.
Part of me felt bad for breaking up with Tracy, but a bigger, more selfish part of me, was elated. Now, I could really be with Hayley. I had a new relationship and I felt better than I had in months. Just thinking about Hayley’s name sent a crazy grin over my face. With Tracy, I was happy; with Hayley, I was giddy.
A grin spread across my lips at that thought, I had found my “giddy.”
“Lucy, I’m home!” I sang as I opened the door to Hayley’s apartment.
“Ricky darling!” A strange voice replied. I blushed as I spotted Haley sitting in the living room with Leila, laughing at me.
Both of Hayley’s roommates were really nice, and the three together were a force not to be reckoned with.
Leila was always making everyone laugh and she was a constant ball of hyper-ness. It was impossible to feel down when you were around her. Taylor and Leila both obviously liked each other, but neither would admit it.
Haley was really nice too, she was calmer than Leila, but she definitely had her crazy hyper moments too. She and Hayley were both constantly writing, they both wrote amazing poetry. I guess that’s just it is if you’re named Hayley… or Haley…
When both Hayley and Haley were in the same room, we called Hayley, my Hayley, ‘Spongebob’ or ‘Red’, and Haley was ‘Hales’ or ‘Big H’, because she was taller than Hayley. Then again, everything was taller than Hayley.
“Be nice you two!” Hayley grinned, appearing from her bedroom.
“How’d it go?” She whispered. I shrugged.
“As well as could be expected I guess.” I replied as Hayley dragged me to her room.
“What?” Hayley asked as she spotted the grin now on my lips.
“I can kiss you guilt-free now.” I replied, moving forward slightly. Hayley backed away.
“This is weird. I feel so bad.” She frowned. “Poor girl.”
“Hayleyyyy.” I whined. “Come on, she’ll be fine.”
“But you two were so cute together.” Hayley said.
“Yes, well, you and I are cuter. Ask any of our fans.” I shot back, flashing a smile. “Seriously though, Tracy will move on in no time at all.”
Hayley rolled her eyes at me. “You’re a jerk, you know that?” She mumbled.
“Hayley! Movie?” Hales called from the living room.
“Yes please!” Hayley jumped up. “Come on.” She pulled me up from her bed and dragged me out the door.  I grumbled as I was lead into the living room, I understood Hayley feeling weird about the whole situation, but she couldn’t just give me a quick peck on the lips? Come on now! She wasn’t regretting being with me was she?

-Hayley’s POV-

I twisted my head to look at the digital clock on my bedside table. “3:12 AM” it flashed arrogantly back at me. I sighed, why did I always have to be wide-awake at three in the morning?
Josh had spent the night again, although I felt a bit weird about it. I mean, the guy just broke a girl’s heart. I felt like such a bitch for taking him from her, if that’s even what you could call it. On the other hand, Josh was really happy now and Tracy would certainly find someone new. She was pretty and had a great personality, there were loads of other potential guys out there for her.
I turned carefully onto my back to get more comfortable. Big mistake. I smiled as I saw Josh sleeping soundly next to me.  I was immediately drawn in and any previous thoughts I’d had about the appropriateness of our getting together evaporated at once.
He looked completely adorable. My eyes scanned over his facial features and settled on his perfect lips. They were parted slightly and his lip ring seemed to glow in the little sliver of moonlight that danced it’s way through my curtains.
Before I knew it was happening, some magnetic force pulled my lips closer to his. A thrill tore through my body as my lips touched his latent ones. I knew I was taking advantage of him and it was wrong to kiss him while he had no say, but the mischievousness of it all was far too tempting.
I gasped as his lips began to respond in his sleep. In a matter of milliseconds, he was kissing back eagerly, fully awake and aware of what I was doing. I felt a blush creep over my face in shame; I had let my hormones get the better of me.
“Well, hello to you too.” Josh whispered, flashing his gorgeous smile. “I could get used to waking up like this.” He continued. I let a laugh escape my throat and I buried my head into his chest, planting small kisses along his bare skin. After a few seconds, I rolled onto my back and shut my eyes, finally feeling tired.
“Oh no you don’t!” He said. “You’ve awoken the beast. You aren’t allowed to sleep now.” I felt him shift closer to me and soon his lips were on mine. I instinctively parted my lips and his tongue immediately darted into my mouth. I suppressed a moan as his tongue ran along mine deliciously.
The rest of my body seemed to be in shock at the fact that I was kissing Josh fucking Farro, my confidant, my band mate, but it soon got over that fact and my hands tangled in his hair.
We broke for air and he planted hard hungry kisses along my collarbone. As my brain seemed to finally catch on to the fact that I was making out with Josh, I pushed him onto his back and swung one leg over his hips so I was straddling him. I saw him grin lopsidedly as he looked at me towering over him before I crashed my lips into his urgently.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and trailed his fingers along my sides lightly, sending shivers of delight through my body.  My hand made its way to his side and my nails scratched gently at his hip, eliciting a delightful moan from his throat.
We pulled apart, panting for air, and smiled at each other.
“We should probably stop.” I said, as much as I didn’t want to. Josh pouted and gave me his best puppy dog eyes.
“Stop!” I wailed. “We’ll end up doing something we regret at this rate.” I climbed off of him and settled on the bed next to him, resting my head on his chest.
“I suppose you’re right.” He sighed, a hint of resentment laced in his voice. He wrapped an arm around me and kissed the top of my head.
“I’m always right.” I said cockily. “You should know that by now.” I knew he was smiling, but he didn’t respond, though I’m sure thousands of comebacks were flying through his brain.
“You’re comfortable.” I yawned, digging my head into his chest.
“And you’re cuddly.” He replied.
“You made me yawn.” He complained suddenly as he yawned loudly. I laughed and twisted my head to look at him. His eyes were shut lightly and his tongue darted out to moisten his lips; he really did look hot, no matter what he was doing.
I felt an increasingly familiar wave of hormones cloud my mind but I forced myself to stay where I was and not give in to my desire to kiss his face off.
“Night Hayles.” Josh mumbled.
“Night Josh.” I replied with a smile.

I have nothing for the next chapter as of right now... oops. I have an idea or two, but it may be a few days before I update...

"I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come in tomorrow..."

Apparently my dad and brother have never seen Office Space. So, I got to thinking... and I made a (short) list of a few movies everyone should see. haha.

1) Office Space "Work Sucks."
2) Fight Club "Mischief. Mayhem. Soap."
3) Amélie "One person can change your life forever."
4) Ferris Bueller's Day Off "One man's struggle to take it easy."
5) Crash "You think you know who you are. You have no idea."
6) Dogma "Get 'touched' by an angel."
7) Citizen Kane
8) Finding Nemo "71% of the Earth's surface is covered by water. That's a lot of space to find one fish."

There are a lot more, I know. These are just a few (mostly old ones) off the top of my head.
Let me know if there's something I should add to the list :)

EDIT:
OMG! I want one of these!!!

Memory (Chapter 10)

Wow, I'm spoiling you with all these updates... hehe
This will explain the last chapter. ...sneaky Zac... XD
Enjoy!

-Josh’s POV-

I woke up and smiled as I realized Hayley was pressed up against me. Wait… Hayley…what? I sat up straight looking around in panic. Why was I in her bed and, more importantly, why was I wearing nothing but my underwear? I thought back to the previous night and sighed in relief, remembering that Hayley had allowed me to spend the night because I was so tired, we hadn’t done anything… besides kiss?
I blushed as I remembered our kiss. Why had she kissed me? Millions of questions flooded my brain, including the most ominous one: she couldn’t possibly like me, could she? The last thing I remembered before the kiss, before I even talked to Hayley, was…Zac. What had he done?
I cautiously got out of bed, careful not to wake Hayley, and grabbed my clothes. A large gift tag stuck to my coat caught my eye and I abandoned my clothes to pick up the jacket and read the tag.
“To: Hayley
From: Josh
Merry Christmas, I love you.”
“That little bastard.” I whispered to myself. A grin crept over my face and I shook my head. Everything made sense now. Hayley had obviously read the tag, that’s why she was asking if it was true.
Her reaction when I confirmed that it was indeed true (although I had no idea what I was confirming) nagged at me though. I was sure she had said ‘me too’ when she hugged me. Curiosity got the better of me and I turned to face the bed.
“Hayley!” I whispered urgently. She mumbled in her sleep but didn’t wake. I felt bad waking her up, she looked so peaceful and beautiful, but I needed to know.
“Hayley. Wake up!” I said. Her eyes fluttered open and a grin spread across her face as she spotted me.
“Hey.” She said sleepily.
“Do you love me?” I asked, almost fearing the answer. She frowned at me.
“I thought we went over this.” She replied.
“I was effectively sleepwalking all night last night.” I explained. “Do you love me?” I watched her eyes go wide and she froze.
“D-do you love me?” She asked uncertainly. I bit my lip and nodded slowly. A beautiful gap-toothed grin broke out across her face.
“Well, in that case, I love you too.” She finally answered. I felt myself beaming and I knelt on the floor so I was at her level. Her lips parted slightly and I felt my own lips mimic hers. I nervously began to close the gap between us and kissed her slowly, testing to see what her reaction would be. She kissed back, just as timidly, but all hesitance was quickly forgotten as our kiss became more intense.
I heard her moan as I licked her lip lightly and she pulled away to plant small kisses along my jaw and under my ear, making my eyes snap shut. I tried to capture her lips in another kiss, only to be rejected.
“I need to brush my teeth.” She groaned, covering her mouth with her hand. “I have awful morning breath.”
“No.” I assured. “You’re breath is fine.” All I wanted to do was crawl back into the bed and kiss her all day.
“Too bad.” She giggled. She kissed my cheek playfully and stood before heading for the bathroom.

~*~

Half an hour later, I stepped out of Hayley’s shower, wrapping a towel around my waist. I really needed to get to the gym; holiday food had started leaving a slight patch of flub along my stomach. I looked around the bathroom and groaned as I realized I’d left my jeans and shirt in Hayley’s bedroom. I slowly opened the bathroom door and poked my head out, looking for Hayley’s roommates. When I was sure the coast was clear, I made a dash for Hayley’s room, holding the towel tightly around my waist.

-Hayley’s POV-

I raised an eyebrow as Josh entered my room, shutting the door behind him.
“Nice toga.” I said, startling him.
“I didn’t realize you were in here.” He said, turning to look at me.
“Well here I am.” I smiled.
“I uh, forgot my clothes.” He said, nodding to a pile on the floor.
“I see that.” I laughed. Awkward Josh was fun. He bent down to pick up his shirt but stood back up quickly as the towel began to slide down his narrow hips.
“How the hell do you make this thing stay on?” He asked. “You have no problem keeping it on at the hotels we’ve been at.” I laughed and scolded myself for automatically taking what he had said the wrong way. He, of course, meant the times the band as a whole stayed at hotels. And the few times I was running around my hotel room in a frenzy trying to find clothes in nothing but my towel while the guys waited, somewhat patiently, for me.
“Just tuck the end bit into the rest of it.” I answered. Josh looked up at me, confusion written over his face. I rolled my eyes and stood up.
“Like this.” I walked over to him, grabbed one corner of the towel and tucked it in at his hip. I saw his abs contract slightly as my fingers brushed passed his hip and I tried to hide a blush by turning away quickly.
“Uh, thanks.” Josh said, clearing his throat.
“No problem.” I mumbled lamely. I then turned to leave the room, figuring it was best if I got out as soon as possible.
“Dang it!” I heard Josh grumble as my hand reached for the doorknob.
“What?” I asked, turning to face him. Man, he looked so good in nothing but a towel…
“Uh, I left my underwear in the bathroom.” He replied sheepishly. I rolled my eyes. Of course he did.
“So go get them.” I said, gesturing toward the door.
“I’m not going back out there! Your roommates will see me.” He argued.
“You have got to be kidding me.” I sighed. “Leila and Haley not going to care. In fact, I’m sure they’ll enjoy the view.” I grinned. Josh rolled his eyes.
“I guess I could just go commando for now.” He said, blushing slightly.
“Fine. I’ll be right back.” I sighed, heading for the bathroom.
“Hey Hayley!” Leila smiled as she too headed to the bathroom.
“It’s not what you think, trust me.” I said, grabbing Josh’s boxers from the bathroom floor.
“Hayley! Whose are those?” Leila’s eyes went wide as she saw the underwear.
“Josh’s nothing happened.” I said quickly. Leila smirked, unconvinced. I rolled my eyes at her and hurried out of the bathroom.
My other roommate, Haley, raised her eyebrows at me as I rushed past her on the way to my room.
“Shut up!” I called over my shoulder to her.
“Ew, ew, ew, ew!” I said teasingly, holding the underwear as far from me as I could as I shut my door behind me.
“Shut up.” Josh laughed as he took the clothing from me. “Thanks.” He said. I nodded and left the room to give him some privacy and to quickly explain to my roommates.

-Josh’s POV-

“So, why did you decide that 11:30 at night would be the perfect time to confess to me?” Hayley asked as we prepared for lunch.
“I didn’t.” I admitted as I flipped over our grilled cheese sandwiches expertly so they would cook on the other side.
“What?” Hayley asked.
“Apparently Zac decided for me.” I explained. “He stuck that gift tag to me and left me, sleeping, on your doorstep.” I laughed.
“What?” Hayley repeated. “You were asleep when I answered the door?” I nodded. Hayley laughed.
“That explains a lot actually.” She smiled. “So Zac wrote out the tag?”
“Yeah.” I said. I took the sandwiches off the stove and arranged them on two plates.
“Well, tell Zac I said thanks for my Christmas present, it’s the best thing I’ve ever received by far.” Hayley giggled and hugged me from behind, making me smile. I loved the feeling of her arms around me.
“Here you go.” I said, handing one plate to her after adding a little something extra to her sandwich without her knowledge.
“Thanks…” Hayley said hesitantly. I waited expectantly as she raised the sandwich to her mouth and bit down. A grin spread across her lips as her sandwich crunched. I grinned as well as she chewed quickly and turned to face me.
“You remembered!” She said, pulling apart the sandwich to see potato chips in between the bread.
“Of course I did.” I laughed. “I always remember things that are extremely weird.” Hayley stuck her tongue out at me teasingly. For some reason, she preferred to have chips in her grilled cheese sandwiches. I had never really understood it; I guess she just liked the crunch.
“Yes, yes, the red head is crazy.” Hayley said. “Let’s make fun of her.”
“Actually, it’s pretty good this way.” I admitted, pulling apart my own sandwich to reveal chips.
“Yes! I converted someone to grilled cheese chip sandwiches!” She grinned triumphantly. I laughed, put my sandwich back together and took another bite. It really was surprisingly good.
“So, when did you and Tracy break up?” Hayley asked through a mouthful of sandwich.
Shit. Hello real world, thanks for reminding me I already have a girlfriend.
“Josh?” Hayley asked, dropping her sandwich on the plate. “You two didn’t break up did you?”
“Uh…” I bit my lip. How could I have been so stupid? Hayley closed her eyes and shook her head. “Shit.” I whispered.
“What the hell Josh!” She said. “How could you do that?”
“I’m so sorry! I – I forgot.” I said. It sounded so lame, but it was true. I had completely forgotten about Tracy. Hayley bit her lip, trying not to laugh at me. Well, at least she wasn’t too mad about it…
“What are you gonna do?” She asked.
“I don’t know.” I shrugged. “Well, break up with her obviously, but I don’t know how.”
“Well, you should tell her the truth, although in this case, you may not want to let her in on the whole truth.” Hayley advised. “Tell her you like someone else and leave it at that. I mean, don’t lie to her, if she randomly asks if you kissed someone don’t tell her you didn’t, but also don’t lead her to believe you did kiss someone. You know?”
I laughed, effectively bringing Hayley’s rambling to a halt.
“I’ll sort it out. Don’t worry.” I smiled. I leaned in to kiss her but she backed away.
“No more cheating for you.” She giggled, ducking away to the kitchen sink with her now empty plate. I sighed and pulled out my phone, dialing Tracy’s number.
“Not over the phone you idiot!” Hayley hissed.
“I’m not gonna do it over the freaki- Hi Tracy? Hey, it’s Josh.”

No updates for a little while, I have to write now. haha. I used up all my (mostly) pre-written chapters over the last few days.
Hope you liked your surprise Haley!! I've been secretly planning that for a little while now. haha.

Oh, and Happy 20th Miss Hayley Williams!! :)

Memory (Chapter 9)

You don't even want to know what I had to go through to get this posted. Let's just say, I hate my router, my old desktop computer and my sh**y ass external hard drive.....
And I'm still mad I couldn't post this on Christmas, but oh well.
It's kind of short, I'll be posting the next chapter soon though. :)

-Josh’s POV-

“Hayley’s on the phone for you.” Zac said, handing his cell phone to me. It was Christmas evening and my family had just finished a huge, and delicious, Christmas dinner.
I sighed as Zac wiggled the phone under my nose, waiting for me to take it. Hayley had tried calling me several times already, presumably to wish me a Merry Christmas, but I had ignored all her calls and texts. I knew I’d pay for it later, but I just couldn’t deal with her right now.
“I’m busy.” I mouthed to Zac so Hayley wouldn’t hear. “Can’t talk.”
My brother frowned. “You are not busy!” He said angrily, placing his hand over the receiver. “What the hell is wrong with you?” That was the question of the decade…
“I told mom I’d help her with dishes.” I lied, making my way to the kitchen. I heard Zac sigh and I paused just outside the door to hear what he was saying.
“He can’t talk. He’s being a loser.” Zac said into the phone. “I have no idea what’s up his ass either.” He paused for a few more seconds while Hayley talked. “Yeah, I’ll let you know if he talks.” Pause. “Uh huh, definitely. See you. Merry Christmas.” He hung up and I hurried to the kitchen. I felt horrible for avoiding her, but it needed to be done.
“Josh, you can’t keep ignoring her.” Zac said, catching me just as I got to the kitchen.
“I just need a break.” I said with a yawn. I hadn’t got much sleep recently, mostly because I hadn’t been able to get Hayley off my mind. It was driving me mad. Ever since that night on the bus, I kept having strange… not so child friendly dreams and thoughts about her and I figured it was best to avoid her until the unwarranted feelings passed.
“You’re an idiot.” Zac shook his head. I know bro, I know.
“Come on, we’ve got to get to Nate’s. And you’re calling her tomorrow whether you want to or not.” Zac ordered. I grumbled to myself but went to pack an overnight bag.
Over the years, it had become tradition for Nate, Zac, Jon and I to have some brotherly bonding time at Nate’s apartment. This brotherly bonding usually consisted of beating each other up and teasing each other mercilessly, but we always had a great time and it was boding time nonetheless.

“Come on Josh. We’re here.” I heard Zac say. My eyes fluttered open and I looked around. We were parked at an apartment complex. I sighed and shut my eyes once more, perfectly content with my current sleeping place.
“Five more minutes.” I grumbled sleepily. I could practically hear Zac roll his eyes and I heard his car door open and shut again.
“Ah!” I yelped in surprise as cool air crept into Zac’s warm car.
“Get out, we’re here.” Zac ordered, holding my door open. I unbuckled my seat belt and got out slowly, complaining all the way. I followed my brother, still half asleep, up loads of stairs until we finally reached Nate’s floor. Man, he lived further up than I remembered…
“You’re gonna need this.” Zac said, sticking something to my coat. I frowned, but I was far too tired to read it. It was probably a sign that said “Kick me, I’m tired as fuck and won’t kick back.”
“I’m gonna go grab our bags.” Zac announced. Leave it to him to get us all the way up the stairs before remembering we needed pajamas. He knocked on the door and took off for the car.
I grunted and leaned against the doorframe while I waited for Nate to answer. I felt my head droop down so I was looking at the floor, but I was too tired to pick it back up again.

-Hayley’s POV-

I heard a knock on my door as the microwave beeped, telling me angrily that my hot cocoa was ready. I frowned and walked to the door, looking through the little fish-eye peephole on my front door to see who could possibly be coming for a visit at this hour. I felt a smile break across my face as I recognized the top of Josh’s head and I unlocked the door to let him in.
The first thing I saw was a large gift tag on his chest. I read it curiously and looked at him, my mouth hanging open. He was looking at the floor, almost as if he was embarrassed or nervous.
“Really?” I asked breathlessly.

-Josh’s POV-

My eyes snapped open as I heard Hayley’s voice.
“Hmm?” I asked, raising my head to look at her. Crap, I had fallen asleep while we were clearly in the middle of a conversation.
“Is that true?” She asked, looking at me hopefully. I had absolutely no idea what she was going on about, but I didn’t want her to realize I’d fallen asleep in the middle of whatever conversation we had been having.
“Uh, yeah.” I said, hoping I’d chosen the right answer. A grin that warmed my heart spread across her face and she was suddenly on top of me in a hug. I guess ‘yes’ was the right answer...
“Me too.” She mumbled into my chest. I shrugged, still having no clue what was going on, and hugged back. Wait, wasn’t I supposed to be at Nate’s or something? Where’d Zac go? Was I dreaming? It sure felt like I was. Everything seemed far away and hazy because my body was so exhausted.
“You look tired.” Hayley noted as she pulled away and looked at me. I nodded vigorously. I was very tired.
“Come on in, you can stay here tonight.” She pulled my in to her apartment and I followed her to her bedroom.
I tried, unsuccessfully, to remove my shoes, and Hayley hurried foreword to help me. Once she removed my shoes and jacket, she looked up at me.
“You got it from here?” She asked. I nodded with a yawn and she turned away while I stripped down to my underwear and climbed into her inviting bed.
She turned back around as I pulled the blankets over my waist and she tucked me in before kissing me lightly.
I gasped in surprise, wondering what had brought the kiss on. She didn’t like me back, did she? Did I even like her? Or was I just having more lusty guy thoughts?
I pushed all reasoning and thoughts from my head and kissed back eagerly, deciding I must be having yet another Hayley-dream.

Hmmmmm what could possibly have been written on the tag Zac stuck to Josh....? Or is it all a dream? hehehe

Off to find out what in God's name is up with my router...

Memory (Chapter 8)

Ok here’s the deal. This chapter SUCKS HARD! haha. It makes things move along because I ran out of time. I have a Christmas chapter planned, I’ve had it written for ages now, but I thought I’d be posting this story faster than I am. Plus, this was meant to go up last night, but that wasn't meant to be (see previous entry if you feel the need.)
So yeah, speeding things up a bit to make everything fit in at the right times. The next chapter and every chapter after that will be SO much better in terms of the writing. Haha.

-Josh’s POV-

“Are we seriously turning the bus off all night?” Zac asked as our driver turned the keys in the ignition.
“Zac, it’s sixty-five degrees outside, we’ll be fine.” Jeremy sighed.
“It’s gonna get colder!” Zac wailed. He slept best when it was warm in the room, he was not a fan of cold.
“Oh be a man, Zac.” I mumbled. “You’ll survive.” I pulled an extra blanket off of the guest bunk and threw it at him.
"Yeah dude, we're up for a VMA. Come on." Taylor put in.
"T, that didn't even make sense in terms of the conversation we're having." Jeremy laughed. Taylor was getting a bit overly excited at the fact that we would be attending the MTV VMA's next week. He had taken to reminding everyone any chance he got.
“It’s plenty warm in here.” Hayley inturrupted as she appeared from the bathroom in her pajamas, shorts and an old band t-shirt. Zac grumbled to himself but didn’t argue further.

Five hours later, it was starting to get a little cold on the bus. The temperature had dropped to fifty and, although it was still fairly warm, the temperature definitely called for more than a thin sheet as a blanket. I pulled my comforter up to my neck and settled back in to my warm bed, ready to drift back to sleep.
As I shut my eyes, I heard someone walk by, shivering on their way to the kitchen. I pulled back the curtain and stuck my head out to find that same someone digging around a storage closet for a blanket.
“Hayles?” I asked. Her head shot up in surprise.
“Oh, hi.” She said, trying to act normal. I smiled and motioned for her to come closer.
“Get in.” I said, lifting up my blanket. She looked at me like I was crazy.
“I know you’re cold, get in.” I said strictly. She hesitantly climbed into the bunk and laid next to me, body rigid. I threw my comforter over her body and wrapped my arms around her to get her warm.
After a few seconds, I felt her relax a bit into my arms and she shifted around a bit, trying to find a more comfortable position. It was hard for two people to be comfortable in these tiny bunks, but if you got close enough, it wasn’t too bad.
“You know, I don’t think Tracy would be too happy if she knew about this.” Hayley teased. I blushed slightly.
“She wouldn’t mind.” I said. Hayley rolled her eyes, obviously not believing me. That’s when I began to worry. My brain quickly began reasoning, the only reason Hayley and I were so close was because that made the tiny bunks more comfortable. And we were practically brother and sister anyway, so it wasn’t like it was wrong or romantic in any way.
I shook my head and silently laughed at myself. I didn’t need to come up with an excuse as to why we were in the same bunk. It was cold, I was helping Hayley out, we’re basically brother and sister, that’s all there was to it. Nothing a girlfriend should be worried about.
“What about Chad? I’m sure he – oh right.” I winced, angry with myself for forgetting they were no longer together. “Sorry.” I mumbled.
“No big deal.” Hayley smiled. “It’s all good.”
“Ah! Geez Hayley, you really are cold!” I gasped when her cold hand touched the bare skin of my waist as she relaxed a bit more in the bunk. My hips instinctively flew forward to get away from the cold, bumping into her hips in the process. I quickly backed away a bit, pulled my t-shirt back down to cover up any bare skin and grabbed her hand to keep her from touching me again.
“You feel like an icicle.” I teased.
“I'm gonna get you!” She giggled, trying to get her hand out of my grasp.
“I’ll break your fingers.” I warned, squeezing her hand lightly.
“Ouch!” She gasped in pain. I immediately let go of her hand.
“Gotcha!” She grinned. Now that her hand was free, she lunged forward to attack me. She pressed her icy hand against the first patch of bare skin she could find, which happened to be my hip.
“Ah!” I yelped. I pressed my hand over hers trying to somehow make it warmer. “Shit!” I laughed. “That’s cold!” Hayley laughed but refused to move her hand.
“Ok, ok.” I gasped. “It’s warm now.” She gently removed her hand and I involuntarily twitched as her fingers dragged along my abdomen lightly.
“Crazy bitch.” I mumbled as I moved to the far side of the bunk, trying to get away from her.
“Hey! Get back here, I’m still cold.” She complained.
“Nah, you lost your chance.” I replied, trying to hide a smile.
“Would you two shut the hell up?” Jeremy called angrily from his bunk.
“Sorry Jerm.” Hayley called over her shoulder. She wriggled over to me and pressed her head into my chest.
“You’re warm.” She sighed.
“I hate you.” I joked quietly. “I'm not your personal heater.”
“Hey, you invited me in, you should’ve expected this.” She whispered with a yawn. “Apparently you don’t know me at all.”
“I was just being nice.” I argued back.
“Uh huh. You know you want me in your bed.” Hayley said. She then started laughing, thinking her joke was the funniest thing on earth. Normally, I would have laughed along, but something in the back of my mind told me she was right. Hmm… that’s strange.

I woke up half an hour later to find that Hayley’s back pressed against my chest. …I was spooning her… at least it was warm.
I screamed at my body, telling it not to react to the feeling of her lower end pressed snugly against my hips and, for once in my life, it listened. I smiled to myself, glad that I finally had started to gain some control over my body and allowed my hand to rest on her hip.
As I drifted back to sleep, my fingers absentmindedly began to trace light patterns on her skin.
“That tickles.” Hayley mumbled in her sleep, shifting slightly. I immediately stopped, hoping I hadn’t woken her up. She sighed and rolled onto her back, making my hand drag across her hips and along her abdomen as she moved. I quickly raised my hand into the air and resettled it higher on her stomach.
Dang, so much for that little bit of control I thought I had finally gained over my body.
“Oshs cute.” Hayley mumbled in her sleep with a smile. Who the hell was Oshs? I assumed the ‘s’ on the end was supposed to be the word ‘is’ but that still didn’t offer explanation as to who Osh was. At least she was over Chad though.
I shrugged and closed my eyes, determined to fall back asleep. I’d tease her about talking in her sleep tomorrow.

~*~*~*~

-Jeremy’s POV-

“VMAs again baby!” Zac said excitedly as our limo pulled up to the red carpet. We stepped out and were immediately greeted by a sea flash bulbs and microphones. We made our way down the red carpet, stopping for photos and interviews along the way.
“This is so surreal.” Hayley smiled to Zac and I as we walked.
“Ohmygosh! ItsJessicaBiel!” Josh said quickly. The whole thing came out as one long word as he spoke. I shook my head as I watched him smooth out his clothes and hair as she walked by.
“Hi.” She said politely with a smile. Josh’s eyes went wide and he waived lamely.
Hayley rolled her eyes. “Smooth.” She teased.
“She said hi to me!” He whispered excitedly, ignoring Hayley. “Oh my gosh!”
“Lame.” Hayley said with a laugh. She turned and froze as Justin Timberlake walked by.
“Hey! Hayley Williams right?” He smiled. Hayley nodded in astonishment. “Love your music.” He said, nodding to all of us. He waived and walked over to Jessica Beil, wrapping an arm around her waist and posing for a few pictures.
Hayley turned back to face us, obviously trying to keep her cool. I could tell she didn’t want to get made fun of after she had just teased Josh.
I laughed and shook my head. I found it hilariously ironic that Hayley and Josh’s celebrity crushes were dating one another yet my band mates couldn’t seem to take the hint and realize they liked each other.
They were constantly flirting, even though Josh was with Tracy, and the sexual tension between them was so thick you could practically cut it with a knife and butter it on your toast.
“Come on you star struck morons.” I sighed, escorting the two down the remainder of the carpet.

“That was amazing!” Taylor grinned as we returned to our hotel. We had been up for Best Rock Artist and had won, setting rumors ablaze that we would surely be nominated once more for a Grammy and we would win this time around. None of us could believe it, we were all sure we were living in a dream.
“Now you have something to impress Leila with.” Hayley grinned. We all laughed as Taylor tripped over his words in a reply. Leila was one of Hayley’s roommates back home and Taylor was hopelessly in love with her, though he vehemently denied it.
“Zac, come here a sec.” I said as Josh and Taylor wandered off to get out of their stuffy clothes and Hayley declared she was going to her room to take a shower.
“Hm?” He asked.
“I have a plan.” I smirked nodding first toward Josh and then toward the door Hayley had just walked out of.
“Really?” Zac smirked, catching on immediately.
“You’re gonna have to be the one to pull it off though.” I said. Zac nodded and leaned closer so I could whisper my genius idea without being overheard.

Yep, the beginning wasn't too bad, but I feel like the last part was really rushed. :/ Next chapter is better, I swear.

Memory (Chapter 7)

Ok, incredibly rushed update!! Some parts of this chapter REALLY bug me, others are ok I guess. haha
Enjoy.

-Hayley’s POV-

I smiled as I watched my boyfriend and my best friend shoot at each other in some Xbox game.
“YES!” Chad jumped up out of his seat victoriously.
“I totally let you win.” Josh laughed, shaking his head.
“Lewwww-zer” Chad sang, pointing at Josh.
“Whatever, Grandpa.” Josh replied with a laugh. Chad put a hand to his chest in mock hurt.
“Ok lovebirds.” I interrupted. “Time to break it up.”
“You ready babe?” Chad smiled.
“Yep. All made up.” I replied, closing my eyes lightly to show off my eye makeup.
“Oh, pretty.” Chad said, obviously not too impressed with my new makeup skills, thank you MAC classes!
“Thanks for pretending to care.” I laughed. “Let’s go.” I grabbed my hoodie and his hand and dragged him off the bus.
As soon as we were off, I wrapped my arms around his waist. He tensed up a bit, before giving me a cocky half smile and placing his own hands on my waist. I stood on my toes and kissed him lightly, grinning. I missed kissing him. He bent down slightly and kissed back slowly. I ran my hands along his arms but frowned, something didn’t feel right… I couldn’t quite place my finger on what was wrong though.
Chad pulled back with a smile and guided me to his car, opening the door for me in his very gentlemanly way.
“Come on, I’m starved.” He said. I laughed and climbed in. Chad was always hungry. I was beginning to think it was just a guy thing after living with four boys for years. All they ever want to do is eat. Eat and sleep. With the occasional video game or movie marathon thrown in.

All through lunch, Chad and I talked about the tour I was on and the tour New Found Glory would soon leave for. I hated being away from him for weeks on end, but I guess it just made things more special when we did get a chance to see each other.
I frowned as I listened to Chad go on about a new song he was working on. He was acting normal, but I knew him well enough to see it was just a façade. Something was up. My brain ran through every possible scenario as to what could be wrong, but nothing made sense. I couldn’t think of anything that would be bothering him.
Something about our pre-car ride encounter nagged at me though. I was desperate to figure out what was so off about it, it felt like the answer was on the tip of my tongue, but I couldn’t quite figure it out.

“And then we poured ice water all over him!” Chad said, face red with laughter.
“Hmm?” I asked, I had totally missed whatever it was he was talking about. Chad looked at me and frowned.
“Nevermind.” He sighed. “So, what do you…” And then it hit me. I knew what was so off. I turned to face him as we got out of his car and interrupted whatever he was saying.
“Why was that kiss so…final?” I asked. Chad frowned. He reached for my hand and led me away from the bus.
“Hayley…” He began.
“Shit.” I whispered, closing my eyes.
“I’m so sorry.” He said quickly. “I love you, but there’s someone out there who is so much better for you than me.”
I shook my head. “Why?” I asked quietly. He looked at me, confused.
“What changed? Why are you breaking up with me?”
He sighed. "Hayley, you have so much life ahead of you to experience still. I'm getting to the point where I need to start slowing down. I couldn't possibly ask you to settle down with me. It wouldn't be fair to either of us."
"You don't see us getting married?" I asked sadly. He paused for a moment, as if he was trying to think of the best response.
"Honestly...no." He said.
I frowned. "Me either." I mumbled truthfully. For some reason, whenever I tried to picture my future with him… there wasn’t one. I couldn’t ever see myself being with him forever and always. I assumed that would change as our relationship grew, that I would eventually see our future together, but I never did. And now I never would.
Chad forced a smile and caught my eye. "Still friends?" He asked.
I shut my eyes. "Not yet." I replied, shaking my head.
"Take your time." Chad said quietly. "But I do hope we can still talk and be movie buddies." I let out a short laugh and nodded slowly.
"You alright?" He asked.
"I will be..." I replied. "I'll talk to you later." I added. He nodded, taking the hint, and hugged me tightly.
I hugged back, breathing him in one last time. It wasn't until then that the tears came. I spun around quickly, but I know he saw them.
"I'm just a phone call away if you want to talk." He whispered, rubbing my back gently. I heard him turn slowly and head for his car.
I took a few deep breaths and got myself under control, only allowing a few tears to escape, and sighed as I heard his car engine roar to life. I refused to turn back around until I was sure he was gone, I knew that if I saw him, I would cry.

I avoided the bus for as long as humanly possible. I knew that the second I stepped on, I would be bombarded with questions about how my date with Chad went and why hadn’t I brought him back with me to visit.
As the sun began to set, I sighed. I knew I had to get back and face the music. If I didn’t head back before it got dark, I would surely get lost. Everything changed in the dark, surroundings looked different, things were easily overlooked, making it harder to backtrack and find something even as large as a tour bus.
I stopped as I reached the bus, surprised, and disappointed, at how quickly I had made the journey. I took a deep breath and opened the door. My plan was to head straight for my bunk, saying I had plans for a video chat with Bekah, so I could avoid questions until I was ready.
"Hey Hayley." Zac nodded as he saw me.
"How was the date?" Jeremy asked, not taking his eyes away from the game he was playing against Taylor.
"Can't talk, late for an iChat." I lied, hurrying to the bunks.
"Alright." Jeremy shrugged as I disappeared.

-Josh’s POV-

"Seriously?" I said in amazement, looking around at my band-mates. They all looked back at me, confused.
I shook my head and stood up. "You're all idiots." I said under my breath as I walked toward the bunks.
"Hayles? You alright?" I asked, pulling back her curtain. Something had obviously happened to her, I could see it in her eyes, even if she had sped past in a blur.
"Fine." She said, a bit harshly. I raised an eyebrow. This was more serious than I thought.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Go away Josh." Hayley ordered. I didn't move.
"Hayley..." I said.
"Please, I'm supposed to be talking with Bekah." She said, refusing to look me in the eyes.
"Ok." I gave in. "I'm here when you're ready to talk." I added, turning to leave.
"He... broke up with me." Hayley whispered. Her voice was so quiet, I almost didn't hear.
"What?" I asked, spinning to face her once more. Her eyes became glassy and soon, tears sprang from the corners of her eyes. My heart broke for her as I looked on.
"He b-broke up with m-me." She wailed, flinging herself at me. I caught her and hugged her tightly.
"Hey, lets go to the back." I said, pulling her out of her bunk. She nodded, wiping her eyes, and followed close behind me.
"Did he say why?" I asked as we sat on the couches.
"He's getting ready to settle down or some shit like that." Hayley replied, tears still falling down her cheeks, though not as quickly. "He said he couldn't ask me to settle down with him."
I nodded thoughtfully. "Oh." I said lamely. I had no idea how I could possibly comfort her.
Hayley sighed. "I guess it's for the best really." She said, gaining control of her emotions. "I never really thought we'd be together forever anyway."
"You didn't?" I asked. Hayley shook her head. I was legitimately surprised. I had always assumed Chad would propose and the two would live happily ever after, leaving me behind to wait for my special someone to come along.
"Is there anything I can do?" I asked.
"No." She whispered. "I'll be fine, just give me a few days." She smiled weakly. “I’m really not as torn up about it as I thought I’d be.”
I felt her jump as my arms enveloped her in a hug. She immediately relaxed into me as I stroked her hair in, what I hoped was, a comforting gesture.
“If you need anything, I’m just a bunk away.” I smiled as I pulled away.
“Thanks Josh.” She whispered.
“No problem.” I shrugged, not really knowing what I had done to deserve a ‘thank you’.
I walked back to the front lounge to face three of my fellow band members, all waiting patiently for an explanation.
“Girly stuff.” I said, emphasizing the word ‘girly’. Hayley would tell them the truth in time. She didn’t need the ‘I’m sorry’ looks tonight.
“Ew!” Zac groaned. Jeremy slapped him across the back of the head.
“Get over it dude.” He said. “It’s part of life. No wonder you don’t have a girlfriend…” Taylor and I laughed as Zac rubbed the back of his head in pain.

Yep, it's kinda ehhhhhh. The one I post on the 25th will be WAY better!!
Off to make a billion sugar cookies. Someone save me :(

Memory (Chapter 6)

I was really excited about this chapter but now I’m not so sure because everyone seems to like the way it’s been going so far… I hope you all like the twist… and I hope it makes sense.
Enjoy!!

-Hayley’s POV-

I closed the old tattered photo album I’d been flipping through with a smile. I couldn’t believe that seven short years ago, I had almost never become friends with Joshua Farro.
Now, I couldn’t imagine my life without him. He was my rock. He was always there for me when something went wrong and he was the first one I went to when something exciting happened. Although these days, if something exciting happened to me, it most likely happened to him as well.
We were in a band together now, along with Zac and two other friends, and our band was really starting to take off. So most of the exciting news I received involved the band, which means Josh heard the news along with me.
“What’cha doin’?” Josh asked with a grin as he entered the back lounge of our tour bus.
“Reminiscing.” I replied with a smile, showing him the photo album. “It’s mostly pictures of when I first moved to Franklin.” Josh took the album from me and began flipping through the pages.
“You mean when you hated me?” He laughed.
“Who says I don’t still hate you?” I shot back with a smile.
“You couldn’t possibly hate this.” He said, gesturing to his face. I rolled my eyes and sunk back into the seat.
“Wow, it’s so weird to see pictures of you without dyed hair.” Josh shook his head as he turned his attention back to the old photo album.
“I know.” I laughed. “I definitely prefer the red.” I added, holding a strand of my hair in front of my face to get a better look.
“Oh wow! Is that Natasha?” Josh asked, pointing to a photo. I leaned over him, resting my chin on his shoulder, and scowled at a picture of a blond girl in a cheerleading uniform that had “Nashville High” printed across the front.
“Yes.” I said. That was definitely Natasha. The girl I had spit on the one day I was a Nashville High School student. Yep, that was Natasha all right, or ‘Miss Misery’ as I liked to call her. But Josh didn’t know that.
“She was a bitch.” Josh laughed and flipped the page.
“Glad you finally see it that way.” I said with a grin. Natasha had recognized me at a football game with Zac and Josh about three years ago. Apparently there were still some hard feelings about our little catfight and she had taken it upon herself to steal my best friend away from me.
Josh and Natasha had dated for several months before Zac and I were finally able to make Josh realize that she was a total life-sucking, fake, lying, bitchy whore who was just using him. Josh of course, didn’t know any of this. He just thought Zac and I didn’t like her, our reasoning was unknown to him.
“There’s the hair!” Josh smiled, tearing me from my thoughts as he reached the end of the album. “Not red, but at least it’s dyed.” I looked over his shoulder and saw a picture of myself with black hair and a terrible haircut.
“Oh! I looked awful!” I raised a hand to my mouth and laughed.
“Not as bad as I did when I went through the black hair phase.” Josh replied.
“For the last time, you did not look bad with black hair!” I said, shoving him playfully. “I mean really, it’s not too far off from your natural hair color anyway.”
“Eh.” Josh replied with a shrug. He closed the album and set it on the couch next to him. I leaned into him, happy to use him as a pillow, and we sat in silence.
“Ahh!” He wailed suddenly. “I’m gonna go crazy. I’m suffering major cabin fever here.” He frowned. We had been driving for hours on end. The one stop we had made was to refill on gas only, no one had been aloud off the bus except Jeremy so he could use the bathroom.
“We’ll be at the next city in…” I glanced at the clock. “Roughly three more hours.” Josh glared at me and I stuck my tongue out in response. I was about to go crazy myself, hence the reminiscing, but I hid it well.
“I need off this bus now.” He sighed.
“Sleep?” I suggested. That’s how I normally passed the time when I was anxious to get off the bus. Josh mumbled something under his breath but I couldn’t make it out. I pulled out my phone as it signaled that I had received a text message and opened it to read.
‘Hey, just wanted to say I miss u. see you nxt week. <3 chadball.’
I grinned and quickly replied to the message. I could feel Josh looking at me and I looked up to find a grin on his face.
“You always get so giddy when Chad’s around or when he texts.” He said. A smile immediately crossed my face at the mention of his name, further proving Josh’s point.
“How do you know he was the one who texted me?” I asked. Josh raised an eyebrow at me, silently calling me stupid. I could always read his facial expressions.
“I hope I find someone to be giddy about someday.” He sighed.
“Aw, what about Tracy?” I asked. Tracy and Josh had been dating for a few weeks now and made an absolutely adorable couple.
“Not giddy yet.” Josh replied. “Happy, but not giddy.”
“You’ll get there.” I assured. After a few moments of more comfortable silence, Josh stood up.
“Alright, sleep it is.” He sighed. He stretched his limbs and headed for his bunk.

-Josh’s POV-

I woke two hours later with a strange paranoia that I was being watched. I absolutely hated that feeling. I turned slowly onto my back and nearly jumped out of my skin as I came face to face with the fiery red headedness of Hayley.
“I’m bored.” She said after giggling at my fright. Her small hands quickly pushed me to the far side of my bunk so she could climb in.
“And why is my bunk the cure to your boredom?” I asked. I winced as my voice cracked from lack of use.
“Dunno.” She answered with a shrug. “Guess I just feel like bugging you.”
“Well, mission accomplished.” I said with a yawn.
“What? I’m not annoying!” She said incredulously. I refused to look at her, I knew she was pulling her adorable pout-y face and I wouldn’t be able to keep up my game if I saw it. In all honesty, I didn’t mind that she had woken me and she wasn’t in the least bit annoying.
“Yeah, you’re annoying as hell actually.” I teased, still refusing to look at her. “Kinda like that ‘Head-on’ commercial.”
“Shut up!” She laughed, shoving me roughly.
“Abusive too.” I added thoughtfully. Then, I made the mistake of looking at her. I was immediately drawn in by the mighty power of the pout and I snaked my arm under her neck and around her shoulders, effectively welcoming her into my bunk. She shifted so her head rested on my shoulder and shut her eyes happily.
“This bunk is way too small for two people.” I said after a few moments of silence.
“Shh.” Hayley whispered. “Quiet time, I’m sleepy.” I laughed and shook my head.
“Well, I’m not.” I said. “So move, I’m busting out of this joint.” Hayley giggled but refused to move.
“Fine.” I said, slightly annoyed. I wriggled my arm free from under her neck and prepared to climb over her.
“Damn, you have a comfy pillow.” She said as I swung one leg over her body. She buried her head into my soft pillow with a grin. “Smells good too.” She added.
“Uh huh.” I grunted, trying to pull my other leg over without hurting her. I finally jumped, well fell really, to the ground and turned to face her.
“Don’t get too comfy, I want my bunk back.” I warned.
“We’ll see.” Hayley called after me. “Why are other people’s beds so much more comfortable than mine?”

Now do you see why it’s called ‘Memory’? haha
Yeah, basically the first few chapters were of Hayley thinking about her past, remembering when she first met Zac/Josh. In case that wasn’t clear…
Sorry for grammar and stuff. I seriously can't focus on annnnything right now. I sat here and stared at this chapter for over an hour in a proofreading attempt. hahaha

Memory (Chapter 5)

There’s kind of a lot going on in this chapter but I couldn’t really find a good place to split it into two chapters without making both chapters really short…
So yeah, not too thrilled with it but oh well. I promise the next chapter is WAY better!!
Sorry for grammar stuff, I re-wrote this about a billion times and decided to just get it over with and post... lol

“Hey, it’s new girl.” Joel, the jock who tripped me on my first day, smirked. “Aw, poor new girl, still no friends.” I ignored him and took my seat in English class.
“Joel. Be nice.” The teacher said with a sigh. It had been like this for a month now. I would come to class and a different member of the ‘popular’ crowd would tease me each day in one way or another. I was getting good at ignoring the puns and provocations, but I couldn’t deny that they still hurt.
Zac’s brother turned to look at me, a blank expression on his face. Oh yeah, turns out I have a few classes with that jerk. He tried to apologize to me on several occasions, but I wasn’t getting anywhere near him if I didn’t absolutely have to be.
Zac’s brother (I refused to call him ‘Josh’) hated it when his so called ‘friends’ picked on anyone. But apparently he couldn’t say anything about it if he wanted to remain friends with these people.
It made absolutely no sense to me. Why be friends with someone if you didn’t like what they chose to do to others?
“Dude, she’s cute.” I heard Josh’s friend, Ajax, say in a whisper from a few seats in front of me. I shuddered slightly in disgust but didn’t otherwise show any signs of overhearing him.
Zac’s brother mumbled something that sounded like “Shut up.” Apparently Ajax was one of his ‘true’ friends. Ajax was a little older than Josh, but Zac and his brother both were close with the football player.
I scowled to myself as I thought about all of these useless facts. Zac was determined to get Josh, I mean his brother, and I to be friends. In executing his plan, he felt it was necessary to tell me all about his brother. The little random facts Zac had mentioned now invaded my brain every time I saw Josh and it was annoying as hell.
“I have your essays.” The teacher announced as she began passing papers back. Oh great, here we go. I suck at writing…
“Miss Williams,” she whispered as she passed my essay back, “you need to read the assignment more closely. I don’t give out extra credit, so perhaps you should consider a tutor to bring your grades up.” I went bright red and sunk in to my chair, trying to disappear. I looked at the teacher and bit my lip before nodding in understanding.
“Good work Mr. Farro.” The teacher said as she continued up the aisle, passing Josh Zac’s brother his essay.
“A! Good work buddy.” Ajax smiled, leaning over Josh’s shoulder to get a look at his paper.
“You should totally tutor the cute girl!” He suggested. I scowled to myself. I would never allow the jerk to be my tutor.
“Her name is Hayley.” Josh whispered.
“I know.” Ajax smiled. “Just wanted to see if you knew it. You must like her a little if you know her name. No one else knows it.” I blushed a bit but still stayed quiet.
“I’d get killed if I tutored her. It’s social suicide.” Josh pointed out. Yes! He said something mean about me, one more reason to hate him! I grinned happily to myself and pulled out my notebook for class.
“So.” Ajax continued the conversation, leaning back in his seat and shrugging. “If people can’t be mature enough about it, then fuck ‘em.”
“Social suicide dude.” Josh shook his head. “There’s no way. From what I hear, she’s hopeless anyway.” Ok, now I’d had enough.
“You realize I can hear you right?” I spat, leaning forward slightly. Zac’s asshole brother turned to look at me, face glowing bright red. Ajax looked at me with a cocky grin and shrugged.
“Well, you really aren’t too bad to look at.” He said truthfully. Josh slapped him in the back of the head. I felt my face burn, I should have just kept quiet. Why do I always have to speak up?
“Do we have anyone in the class who would be willing to tutor others?” The teacher interrupted, careful not to hint who exactly needed tutoring, though it was a bit obvious in my opinion. A few students giggled and stared at me, adding to my Ajax mortification.
“I’ll do it.” Josh sighed after a few minutes of no response. He visibly winced as the words left his mouth. I shook my head immediately. There was no way I was going to be tutored by that jerk.
“Really?” The teacher asked in surprise. Joel turned to face Josh and raised an eyebrow.
“Fuck ‘em.” I heard Ajax whisper to Josh.
“Yeah, I’ll do it.” Josh ‘Jackass’ Farro said with a sigh.
“Excellent. Thank you.” The teacher smiled. I groaned and let my head fall onto the desk in despair.

~*~*~*~

“So it sounds like your biggest problem is expressing yourself on paper.” Zac’s brother said. I was at my first tutoring session with him at his house, and I was officially in hell. I had tried everything possible thing I could think of to get out of it, but it was no use. At least Zac was only a yell away if his brother tried anything stupid.
The jerk (I still refused to call him by his name) had most definitely committed social suicide, just as he had said in class. I noticed that was teased at school for helping out the ‘new weirdo’ and now I only ever saw him with Ajax or Zac. I almost felt bad for him, but every time I started to, I reminded myself of my first day at school. I had been so humiliated and all he did was stand there and laugh at me.
“Lets try something else.” Josh said, pulling out a piece of lined paper. He handed it to me and gave me a pen. “Write down how you felt during your first week of school.”
“I can’t.” I said bitterly. It was impossible for me to write my feelings. To me, it was one of those things where you know what you want to write, but you can’t quite figure out how to put it in to words.
“Oh come on!” Josh snapped. “We’ve been here for over an hour and you’re not being the least bit cooperative.” I narrowed my eyes at him in anger. He didn’t deserve cooperation even if I was able to write.
“Please, just write how you feel.” Josh sighed.
“I. Can’t.” I said through clenched teeth. Josh groaned in frustration.
“Then talk! I don’t care. Just get it out.” He said. “How do you feel?” He demanded.
“Pissed.” I spat. He shook his head and rolled his eyes.
“Alright, fine. Build off that.” He said. “Why are you pissed?”
“Because you’re an ass.” I said a bit more loudly than I intended to.
“Good Lord you’re stubborn.” He said calmly. He was pretty good at keeping his cool, I’d give him that. If I was him, I’d be yelling right now.
“How many times do I have to apologize? Yes, I was an idiot. My friends are stupid and immature. I’m sorry.” He said once more. I snorted, not believing a word. He was just trying to get me to cooperate.
Josh took a deep breath. “Ok.” He said. “How did you feel when Joel tripped you?”
“I felt like crap.” I said shortly. Josh bit his lip, he was obviously finding it harder and harder to stay calm.
His new approach was definitely working. Ideas flooded my brain and I suddenly could think of a thousand words to explain how I felt. There was no way I was going to let him know that though.
“What else?” He said, shutting his eyes.
I sighed, might as well throw him a bone. “I felt like the world was against me.” I finally admitted.
“Thank you!” Josh smiled, raising his hands in the air.
“Now you.” I said. I certainly wasn’t going to be the only one spilling my guts here.
“What?” Josh asked.
“I see you at lunch.” I said. “You don’t sit with the popular kids anymore. How does that make you feel?” I said with a cocky smirk.
“Oh wow, I can’t play the almighty popularity card anymore. Who gives a crap?” Josh spat back at me.
I raised an eyebrow. “Sounds like you give a crap.” I said honestly.
“This isn’t about me.” Josh said. “And I don’t. They’re all retarded anyway.”
“Alright then, I guess we’re done.” I said simply packing up my things.
“Fine, whatever.” Josh rolled his eyes. “I give up. You’re impossible.” I shrugged in response, at least I had officially gotten out of tutoring with him.

“Hayley! Do you want to stay for dinner?” Zac asked as I left the dining room where Josh and I had been working.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea.” Josh and I replied in unison. Zac frowned.
“See you Monday.” I said to Zac before hurrying out of the house.
My brain was buzzing. Josh had somehow opened the floodgates and ideas were oozing from my mind. I hurried as quickly as I could to my house, feeling like if I didn’t start writing soon, I would lose the ideas.
I opened her door to my small house, said a quick hello to my mom and shut myself in my room with paper and a pencil.
By the end of the night, paper littered my bedroom floor and I had my first ever poem. I heard my mother come into my room to check on me, but I was far too tired to lift my head off my pillow.
She cleaned all the papers that surrounded me off my bed and tucked me in, obviously convinced I was sleeping. I loved my mom.

~*~

Over the weekend, I had a sort of revelation about Josh. Maybe he wasn’t so bad after all if he was nice enough to volunteer to tutor me. Obviously it had meant his so-called ‘friends’ would ditch him, but he did it anyway.
“I know how you feel.” I said as I spotted Josh walking to the school entrance. He looked around, probably thinking I was talking to Zac, but Zac wasn’t anywhere near him.
“What?” He asked.
“I know how you feel.” I repeated. “Ever since you volunteered to help me out, you’ve felt like you lost whatever kind of power you had by being popular.” I explained.
“And I feel like everything and everyone is always against me.” I continued. I pulled out a wrinkled piece of paper, a cherished piece of paper, and handed it over.
Josh took it, still confused, and read. ‘Conspiracy’ was scrawled across the top of the page in my rushed writing. I smiled as I watched his jaw drop as he read, feeling proud of myself. I still couldn’t believe I had written a poem. And it wasn’t half bad.
“Hayley, this is…”
“Hey Farro!” Joel interrupted. “Come on, we’re gonna lose the good seats in Bio if you don’t hurry your ass up.” Josh looked confused. I felt my heart drop slightly.
“I see you made up with the jocks.” I said a bit rudely. I was angry with myself for thinking he had changed.
“Uh, I guess I did.” Josh said, apparently confused. I shook my head and tore my poem out of his hands before storming off.

I took my seat at the last lab table in Bio just as the bell rang.
“Hey Josh, I saved you a seat.” Joel said, motioning to the stool next to him. I rolled my eyes and refused to look at him as he mumbled something back to Joel. I opened my notebook and began doodling in the margins, in an attempt to get my mind off the situation.
Just as I thought I might actually be able to be friends with him, he, of course, had to mess it up and prove me wrong. So long as he hung out with the ‘popular’ jerks, I didn’t want anything to do with him.
“Is this seat taken?” A voice asked. I shook my head, not bothering looking up from my notebook. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a male sit down next to me, but I couldn’t be arsed to see who exactly it was.
“Hayley, you can’t just ignore me.” The guy whispered as class began. I furrowed my eyebrows, why did this guy know my name? I turned slowly and felt my eyes go wide as I saw a rather cute boy with long brown hair and deep chocolate eyes sitting next to me.
“J-Josh?” I said in surprise. He raised his eyebrows.
“You called me Josh.” He said, a slow smile creeping across his face. “Usually it’s ‘jackass’ or ‘jerkface’ or something.”
I scowled and ignored him. When had I started thinking of him as ‘Josh’ instead of ‘Zac’s brother’?
“I thought you were sitting with the popular crowd.” I spat, attempting to cover my tracks.
“Nah. Joel’s only being nice to me because he sucks at Bio and I’m not too bad with it.” He shrugged. “Not really someone I want to be friends with anymore.” I frowned, had I just been proven wrong again? Could he honestly have changed?

Yeah, not too happy with that... but again, I PROMISE the next chapter will be WAYYYYYY better!!
Get ready for a bit of a twist :P

Memory (Chapter 4)

Updateeeeee Enjoy. :)

To my delight, I actually ended up having one class with Zac, a music class. I had been at my new school for a week now, but this was my first time going to this particular class. It was just before lunch and I was really nervous. I had never taken a music class before and I had absolutely no idea what to expect.
“Class!” Mr. Bradley called over the noise. “Settle down.” He called. We all took our seats and looked at the teacher expectantly.
“We call him Señor Bouncy because he always bounces on his heels.” Zac whispered. I covered my mouth with my hand, trying not to laugh and watched as Mr. Bradley walked around the room. There was a definite bounce in his step.
“Class, we have a new student with us. Her name is Hayley, she just moved here from Mississippi.” Mr. Bradley continued, pointing to me as he spoke. I stood up, suddenly feeling self-conscious and bit my tongue as I watched the teacher bounce up and down. Stupid Zac, why did he have to tell me the nickname?
“Why did you move?” One kid asked automatically.
“Uh, my mom got a job here.” I said nervously. It wasn’t exactly a lie, my mom did get a job in Franklin, it just wasn’t the whole truth either. I had definitely learned my lesson about being completely truthful all the time.
“Oh.” The kid said, accepting my answer with no further questions. I smiled happily to myself and took my seat next to Zac.
“Alright, today we’re going to learn a new song.” Mr. Bradley spoke, diving in to the day’s lesson. The class collectively groaned as sheets of paper with lyrics were passed around the room.
“Most of the time we get to do fun stuff, like learning how to read music or playing instruments.” Zac sighed, explaining to me. “We don’t usually have to sing.” I began to panic. Was Señor Bouncy crazy? I couldn’t sing! I was going to look like a complete fool in front of everyone, yet again.

“Hayley, you need to participate please.” Mr. Bradley called a few minutes into the song we were supposed to be singing. Dang. I had been lip-synching in hopes that the teacher wouldn’t notice. I frowned but started singing very quietly. As the beat of the song picked up, I got into it, forgetting to keep my voice quiet.
“Who is that?” Mr. Bradley asked abruptly. The whole class stopped at once.
“Miss Williams? Was that you?” The teacher asked. The whole class turned to look at me and I looked to Zac, whose eyes were wide in astonishment. My face went bright red. Was I really that bad?
“I – I don’t know.” I stammered. Mr. Bradley frowned and began playing the music again. He stared at me as we began singing once more. I felt my face burn deeper red as a few people watched me, curious to see if it really was ‘the new kid’ Mr. Bradley was talking about.
I opened my mouth and began singing once more, stopping almost immediately. That was not my voice. It couldn’t be. I tried again and had the same reaction.
“It was you.” Mr. Bradley smiled. My eyes went wide. I was actually good at something! I had never been good at anything in my life. Just as everyone turned to look at me once more, the bell rang, signaling the end of class.
“Miss Williams, can I speak with you please?” Mr. Bradley called over the bustle of students gathering their things to leave.
I walked to the front of the class nervously and waited for him to speak.
“I don’t know if you’re interested, but I think you would do well to take vocal lessons.” He said, writing something on a piece of paper. “This is the number of a colleague of mine, he is one of the better vocal coaches in my opinion.” He handed over the paper. The name ‘Brett Manning’ was scribbled across the paper with a telephone number underneath.
“Oh, I don’t think I’m going to do vocal lessons.” I said. “Thank you though.”
“Well, keep the number. You could go far if you train your voice properly.” Mr. Bradley advised. I nodded and headed out of the room.
“Ohmygosh!” Zac said quickly as I exited. “That was amazing!” I giggled as he bounced around me excitedly.
“It was not.” I said.
“Are you kidding?! It was excellent!” He said, jumping up and down. “Holy poop!”
I raised my eyebrows. “Holy what now?” I laughed.
Zac shook his head. “Never mind. I just got a great idea though.”
“What?” I asked.
“Well, you know that band my brother and I have?” He said quickly. “Well, we need a singer.” He continued without waiting for me to reply.
“Oh no. No, no, no!” I shook her head, seeing where he was going.
“Yes!” Zac said urgently. “At least let him hear you sing. I’m gonna go get him. Stay here.” He ordered before tearing through the halls. I sighed and opened the door to one of three practice rooms lined along the hallway.
In all honesty, I was kind of excited to meet Zac’s brother. Zac was always talking about how great this ‘Josh’ was. And by the way Zac described him, he seemed really cool, friendly, and very passionate, just as Zac was. Zac obviously looked up to his older brother and thought he was the coolest thing since sliced bread, so there must be something great about him.
While I waited, I pulled out my CD player and put in a mix CD Zac had made for me. Apparently all the bands I listened to were crap, and Zac had taken it upon himself to educate me in what was supposed to be good music. I clicked through to my favorite track on the CD, a song by a band called Sunny Day Real Estate, and hummed along. I bit my lip and looked around. When I was sure no one was listening, I timidly began to sing along.
By the end of the song, I was so into it, my eyes were shut and I completely forgot to pay attention to how loudly I was singing. As the song ended I heard Zac begin clapping.
“See I told you she was good!” He grinned, talking to someone behind him. I jumped in shock and silently cursed myself for not paying attention.
“Wow.” A voice I didn’t recognize said in astonishment. “That was amazing!” He continued.
“Zac, stop bouncing around, I can’t see.” He said angrily.
Anger surged through me as my eyes finally landed on Zac’s brother.
“That’s your brother.” I spat furiously.
“Yeah! Hayley, Josh. Josh, Hayley.” Zac introduced happily, oblivious to the anger in my voice.
“You’re a jerk.” I stated, glaring at Josh. Zac looked confused.
“Hey! You’re that new kid – oh…” Josh said in realization.
“What?” Zac asked, desperate to know what he had missed.
“Your lovely brother here was part of that group that teased me my first day.” I explained crossly. “He’s a jackass.” I grabbed my backpack and shoved past the brothers, making sure to hit Josh extra hard as I passed. I heard Zac yell something angrily at Josh before he took off after me.

Exams are almost over!! So more constant updates soon! (If I can write that fast.... lol)
Happy day-late Birthday Mr. Taylor York!! :D

Memory (Chapter 3)

Kind of a filler chapter, but definitely necessary. :)
Enjoy.

“Hayley, get up. You’ll be late for school.” Mom said gently, waking me from my latest nightmare about my ex-stepfather.
“Wha?” I said sleepily. “I’m suspended.”
“Not anymore.” She said cheerfully. “Come on, up.” I groaned in complaint and sat up, rubbing my tired eyes with my fists. I stumbled into the bathroom and turned on the shower with a yawn. I really didn’t want to go back to that hell-hole, but maybe it would be better this time.

“Where are we going?” I frowned. “We can’t walk to school, its miles away.”
“Mom talked to dad and apparently she got us in to some private school in Franklin.” My older brother said as we began walking. I frowned, instantly angry with my mother for forgetting to mention the small fact that I would be attending a different school. I was nowhere near ready to meet new people again.
After walking for twenty minutes, we rounded a street corner and came face to face with a large brick building.
“No more fights.” My brother warned as he headed for the building. I rolled my eyes, it wasn’t like I wasn’t a victim too. Natasha provoked me! And she fought back. I even had the bruise on my arm to prove it.
I sighed and smoothed out my hair and clothes. When I finally felt like I looked presentable, I opened the heavy wooden door to the school and looked around, trying to figure out where the main office was.

“Oh look! Fresh blood.” A beefy looking boy in a varsity football jacket said. I walked by the group of boys and cheerleaders, ignoring them. As I passed, one of them, a taller and skinnier boy, stuck his foot out and I tripped over it. My backpack fell to the floor and split open, sending notebooks all over the floor.
I felt my face burn bright red as I grasped my knee in pain and tried to scoop up my things at the same time. I looked up to see a rather cute boy with long brown hair and deep chocolate eyes staring back at me.
His eyes were filled with sympathy, but he laughed cruelly at me along with the rest of his friends in the group. I felt tears burn at my eyes and I quickly grabbed my things before rushing away.

“Are you ok?” I heard a voice ask. I was sitting in a corner, sniffling. I hadn’t been able to find a bathroom and had to settle for a quiet hallway.
I looked up and my green eyes met with a pair brown ones. The boy standing over me was chubby, but looked very friendly.
“What happened?” He asked.
“I got tripped.” I said, wiping my eyes. “And my bag broke, and I’m new, and I don’t know anybody, and I have no idea where I am.” I continued in frustration.
“Well, I’m Zac.” The chubby boy said. “My brother and I are in a band.” He grinned proudly, holding out his hand. I took it carefully and shook. He certainly was open.
“I’m Hayley.” I said quietly.
“I can show you around!” Zac said excitedly. “Come on!” He pulled me away from my corner against my will and led me down the nearest set of stairs.
Next thing I knew, I was in the principal’s office getting my schedule and Zac was taking me on a tour of the school, gabbing away endlessly. I immediately felt at ease with Zac, there was just something about him that made him very likeable.
I soon discovered that his parents owned an Italian restaurant in Franklin, a restaurant that my family and I had actually happened to go to in our short time in Franklin, and that he had two older brothers, one younger brother and a younger sister. I told him about my family and about why we had moved while he listened sympathetically. He wasn’t like the others, he didn’t make fun of me for my family’s situation.
I could tell straight away that he was a passionate person, like me. He constantly talked about some band he and his brother were in and if there was a pencil or stick nearby, he would instinctively grab it and lay out a steady beat on the nearest solid surface.
Overall, Franklin was starting to seem like it might actually be all right.

Sorry so short. I'll try to update again soon. No exams tomorrow or Thursday, so I should be able to get something up within the next few days :)

Memory (Chapter 2)

Ok, so apparently I have a lot more free time this weekend than I thought I was gonna have.... haha

“Class, I’d like you to welcome Hayley.” Mrs. Hadley, my new teacher, spoke. Her hands had a gentle grip on each of my shoulders in what I assumed was supposed to be a comforting gesture. It definitely did not feel comfortable, in fact it made me feel incredibly awkward.
“Hayley, would you like to say a bit about yourself?” Mrs. Hadley asked.
“Sure.” I put on a brave smile, trying to project an image of courage and self-assurance when on the inside I felt like I was going to hurl from nerves.
“Um, I’m Hayley.” I said lamely. I wrinkled my nose as soon as the words left my mouth. They already knew my name, what was I saying?
“Uh.” I said quickly. “My family and I just moved here from Meridian Mississippi. We’re living a few towns away in Franklin but my dad wanted me to go to school here in Nashville.” I saw a blonde girl’s hand shoot up into the air.
“Yes Natasha?” Mrs. Hadley called.
“Why did you move?” The girl called Natasha asked with a smirk.
“To start over.” I answered honestly. I had always been taught to be honest, though my mother didn’t exactly live by the rule herself. I heard her lie all the time to my little sisters, telling them everything was all right when, clearly, it wasn’t.
“We wanted to get away from my step dad.” I continued, wanting to be as open and honest as possible.
“That’s weird. Family’s are supposed to stay together.” Natasha said, raising her eyebrow dangerously. I bit my lip as I felt my throat close up and tears sting at my eyes.
“Natasha!” Mrs. Hadley scolded. “That’s not polite.”
“I’m sorry Mrs. Hadley.” Natasha pouted. I didn’t think she looked very sorry…
“Hayley, why don’t you have a seat.” Mrs. Hadley said politely. I nodded and looked around for a seat. Of course, the only desk left was next to Natasha. I frowned but walked over in, what I hoped was, a confident manner and took my seat.
“Hi new girl.” Natasha said arrogantly. I bit my lip, I had a bad habit about biting my lip. So far, the day was not going as planned.

I looked around the lunchroom for a place to sit. There were no empty tables and I hadn’t exactly made any friends yet. People kept brushing by me and bumping into me as if I was invisible. The bumps and collisions nearly made me drop my tray-full of not so appetizing school food several times. Not exactly a loss if I dropped the tray, but it would definitely garner unwanted attention with the crash.
“New girl!”
I turned around and cursed myself for responding to the phrase.
“You can sit here if you’d like.” Natasha smiled politely. I thought for a moment and shrugged, maybe this girl wasn’t as bad as I thought, at least she was offering to let me eat with her. I made my way to the table and took a seat cautiously.
“Cindy, this is new girl.” Natasha introduced.
“My name is Hayley.” I corrected quietly, earning a nasty glare from Natasha.
“Anyway.” Natasha said loudly. “She’s come here from Missouri-”
“Mississippi.” I corrected once more, earning another glare.
“She’s here to get away from her stepfather for some stupid reason.” Natasha continued, as if I wasn’t even there.
“He’s not my stepfather anymore.” I said. Why couldn’t I keep my stupid mouth shut? Natasha raised an eyebrow.
“Your mom has been through two divorces?” Natasha laughed. “Wow, is she hideous or something?” I bit my tongue. I wasn’t going to get into a fight on my first day.
“Look Harley” Natasha moved her head closer to mine.
“Hayley.” I corrected one more.
“Whatever. I’m the most popular and prettiest girl in this school. No one is gonna take that away from me. Especially some drowned rat like you.” Natasha spoke dangerously. I bit back a laugh.
“You’re threatened by me!” I said, amazed. Unfortunately I was unable to keep a smirk from crossing my lips.
“I am not threatened by a girl who’s mom is unwanted enough that she’s had two divorces.” Natasha said with a smirk. I felt my fists clench and tried to take a few deep, calming breaths.
“I pity whoever is unlucky enough to date your mom next.” Natasha said carelessly, holding her hand in front of her to look at her nails.

~*~

I glared at the depressing grey carpet outside the principals office, waiting. Finally, the door opened, making me jump in surprise, and my mother walked out. I felt my mom’s fingers wrap around my arm and suddenly I was being pulled up from the uncomfortable wooden chair.
We walked through the abandoned maze of corridors in the school, trying to find the exit. All was silent apart from the consistent clicking of my mother’s high heels on the ugly tiled floor. As we walked out of the depressing building, the large metal entry door snapped shut with a definitive bang, causing me to jump slightly.
I climbed in to the car, still unable to look at my mother, I knew I had let her down and, quite frankly, it sucked. We were supposed to be making a new, better life, and so far it was not going very well.
“You’re lucky I don’t start work until next week.” My mother sighed, starting the engine.
“I’m sorry mom.” I said quietly. We sat in silence for a few moments and I began picking at the broken skin around my fingernails.
“Did you really have to spit on her?” Mom asked quietly. I bit my lip, trying not to laugh and looked at my mom. She also seemed to be having a hard time keeping a straight face.
“She started talking crap about you!” I answered in defense.
“Hayley!” Mom said seriously. “You of all people should know enough to ignore what other people say.” I looked away, happy to stare intently at my ratty shoes, she was right, as always. If I had learned anything from my ex-stepfather, it was to ignore what other people said.
“I know.” I finally mumbled, knowing she was waiting for a response.
“You’ve been suspended for a week for fighting.” She sighed. “Not the best start kiddo.”
“Please don’t make me go back!” I begged. “There has to be a school in Franklin.”
“Your father says this is the best school in the area.” She replied.
“Mom! You don’t understand! I can’t be around that girl!” I wailed. I was on the verge of tears just thinking about Natasha.
My mom sighed. “Let’s just get you home for now. We’ll talk about this, and your punishment, later.”
I slumped against the car seat, arms crossed, as my mother put the car into gear and drove away.

New characters soon!! ;)  I'll update as soon as I can.

Memory ch. 1

Heyyyyy. I figured I'd post this sooner rather than later. Just a warning, updates will be slow for a few days. This is just to get things going. haha. More of a preview than a chapter because of the length I guess but whatever.
I may change the title, I'm not completely stuck on it yet...

I brushed a comb through my silky light brown hair one last time and grinned. It was my first day at my new school. Time for a fresh start.

I knew this was the greatest opportunity I'd had thus far in my short 13 years of life. No one knew who I was, no one knew me as "the girl with the crazy, controlling step dad", no one knew I had a broken life.

I got a do over.

Everything I didn't like about myself and my old life could be changed, rewritten. It was all up to me and it was an incredible feeling that both excited and scared me.

My old life had my ex-step father. My old life had pain. My old self was an outcast. My new life included being close to my father, my real dad, whom I loved very much. It also included a happier version of my mother and siblings. My new life had great potential.

"Hayley honey, time to go!"

"Coming mom!" I yelled. I grinned at my reflection in the mirror, I looked confidant and in control. I looked like I was finally ready to take charge of my life.

This time things would be different, things would be better

I thought I'd try this from 1st person POV instead of 3rd person. Just want to try something different. :)
I'll try to have another chapter over the weekend, but in all honesty, probably wont be able to get anything up until Tuesday. The next chapter needs a lot of work and I don't have the time or energy right now. lol

...

My state is confused as to what time of year it is... It was 6 degrees on Monday (-13 with windchill) and today, only 2 days later, it's 58 degrees (55 with windchill) ... oooook....

I hate school, I can't wait for this week to be over. I have a bunch of exams next week, but I'm really not too worried about them. Exam week will be so much easier than this week hahaha.
The point of all that rambling, is that I won't be posting more than a preview this week for the next joshayley. It's going to be called, drumroll please, "MEMORY"! Woohoo, how boring... Trying to think of a new name, but we'll see how it goes. lol

Ok, I should probably pay attention to what's going on in class now. lol

New Beginnings ch. 18

Last chapter!! (Bet you didn’t see that one coming! haha) Sorry it’s so short, but I felt like it didn’t really need to be any longer than it is.

Hannah walked to the local park, to their place, hers and Zac’s. She sat on a swing and allowed herself to swing about absentmindedly as a frown crept across her face.
She thought about how life’s biggest changes always seemed to happen over a few short hours or days.
One day, you could be on top of the world, completely lost in your happiness and utterly oblivious to what was happening around you, and the next day your world could come crashing down magnificently.
Everything changed so quickly. There was no warning, it just happened. Life was a cruel, cruel game, with a surprisingly sick sense of humor.
The thing that amazed her the most, was that this thing called ‘life’ always seemed to take a turn for the better after it knocked you on your ass. Life could take you from your high, chew you up, and spit you back out again in the metaphorical dumpster of the world, leaving you to feel confused, angry, hopeless and alone. But after all that, life moved on, you moved on. Somehow, things always managed to get better, or at least more manageable, after the low points. Then, the vicious cycle would begin again. It was like a nasty, yet thrilling, roller coaster ride.

Zac walked through the dark, damp streets of Franklin aimlessly. He thought about the events that had taken place over the last few days. The memory of the doctor delivering Hannah’s results would be permanently etched into his brain.
Her tests were all negative. She didn’t have cancer. A grin spread across his face at the memory.
It turned out that touring had taken a toll on her body, as she wasn’t used to the sleep schedule and not having proper meals all the time. Her body was simply fighting off a mild case of the flu, made worse by her weak immune system. As for the bruise, well, apparently she bruised easily in her weakened state, simple as that.
Zac shoved his hands into his pockets and smiled to himself as he thought about how lucky he was. Most people had never been through what he had been through over his lifetime. Most people didn’t get to live their dreams. Most people didn’t get to confess their love to a childhood friend and have that love be returned. Sure, he’d had his low points, but he still felt lucky as hell.
He hurried across the street as a car sped past and continued walking. Not knowing, or caring, where his feet took him.

Hannah was torn from her thoughts by a rustle in the bushes. Her eyes strained to see in the darkness and she grinned as she made out Zac’s figure walking toward her. He sat on the swing next to her and she allowed her head to fall onto his shoulder.
She shut her eyes happily, enjoying the feeling of being with him. Zac tangled his fingers with hers, not saying a word. He smiled as he looked around; this was their spot.
Always had been, always would be.

Awwww. Yay! No cancer. haha.
I just want to say thanks to everyone who has stuck with me through this story!! :) It was a lot of fun writing a Zacfic, but I don't think I'll do another one any time soon. haha
New Joshayley on the way... at some point... haha might be a few days. It needs a title, and I need to study for exams. icky.
Thanks again for reading/commenting/buzzing!!!!!

It's 1:45 AM and I'm bored

So I'll make a random journal entry.
I was about to (try to) go to bed, but I decided to check paramoreband's livejournal since it hasn't been updated in a while, and what do you know. UPDATED!! :) yay.

This is what Hayley had to say (from http://paramoreband.livejournal.com/):
"well, the real reason for this quick little update is to tell you guys that i've been spending tonight in my room writing. josh has a lot of really cool riffs and great music that i'm excited about. so far, i really like what i have and i wanted to share that with you guys. it's still just a start... i can't wait to make a record. "

So excited for the next record!! :D

New joshayley coming soon. (So long as exams don't kill me first...) Zacfic update tomorrow. (well, technically later today....)

Oh my gosh I'm so bored. and SOOO not tired... and I really don't want to do any schoolwork/studying.... hahaha

New Beginnings ch. 17

Hi. Update time. hehe.
Enjoy.

“Mark, lets get you to Ben’s house.” Hannah’s dad said as he spotted Zac in the doorway to Hannah’s hospital room. Her family said their goodbyes and walked toward the door.
“Oh hold on a sec. I’ll be right back.” Mark said, running back into the room. Hannah’s father nodded an ‘ok’ and placed a firm hand on Zac’s shoulder as he passed, giving him a sympathetic smile.
“Hannah?” Mark said quietly.
“What?” Hannah snapped. She hadn’t really talked to her brother since he had tried to blackmail her.
“I’m so sorry.” He whispered. He ran to her bed and hugged her tightly. “I was a jerk.” Hannah smiled.
“Yes, you were.” She laughed and hugged back. “But it’s alright.”
“I don’t want you to have cancer again.” He admitted.
“I’ll be ok.” She assured, she was determined to stay strong. “Now get out of here, Ben’s waiting for you.” She added with a smile. Mark nodded and disappeared out of the room.
Zac stopped Mark as he walked out of the room and patted him on the back; he had overheard everything the teen had said.
“Thank you.” He said. “I know that was hard for you and I know that made her really happy.” He added. Mark nodded silently and hurried down the hall after his parents, not saying a word.
Zac took a deep breath and stepped into the room.
“Zac!” Hannah said in surprise as she spotted him.
“Hi.” He said quietly. She looked like death. Her hair was a mess and she had huge bags under her eyes, which were bloodshot as if she had been crying.
“Why are you here?” She asked finally, refusing to look at him. She knew that if she did, she wouldn’t be able to take her eyes away.
“Why wont you let me in?” Zac asked, stepping into her line of vision. She looked away quickly.
“I got through it on my own the first time, I don’t need you worrying about me this time.” She replied coldly.
“You said I was always there for you when you needed me most last time.” Zac said. Hannah frowned. She could feel her willpower breaking. She slowly nodded her head, confirming what he had said.
“Let me be here for you now. This is one of those times.” Zac said, taking her hand. Hannah sighed, still refusing to look at him.
“I still think we should take a break.” She said. Zac frowned.
“This came for you today.” He said, choosing to ignore her comment. He pulled the postcard out of his back pocket and handed it to her.
Hannah took it curiously and looked it over. The front was plain, aside from the messy writing that said ‘Just a reminder.’ Hannah flipped the card over and saw the same tall, scratchy writing on the back. She had a bit of a hard time deciphering the scrawl, but managed nonetheless.

“Don’t ever forget:” It read. “You’ve gotta swim, swim for your life.
Swim for the music that saves you when you're not so sure you'll survive.
You’ve gotta swim, and swim when it hurts.
The whole world is watching, you haven't come this far to fall off the earth.
The currents will pull you, away from your love.
Just keep your head above.
Swim.
Zac called and told me your back at the hospital. Remember to keep your family and friends close at times like these. I know it's hard, but it's the best thing you can do.
I’ll stay strong if you do.
Always,
Andrew"

A sob escaped Hannah’s throat as she finished reading. Zac immediately wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close allowing her to cry into his shoulder.
“I’m scared.” She finally admitted. Zac felt tears in his own eyes.
“I know.” He said quietly, stoking her hair. “Me too.” He choked. Hannah pulled back and wiped her eyes.
“Shit.” She whispered when she saw Zac. “You can’t cry too!” She said. Zac laughed a bit, wiping his own eyes.
“I feel like a pansy.” He said. “Boy’s aren’t supposed to cry.”
“Don’t say that.” Hannah smiled. “It just shows you care about me.”
“I do.” Zac nodded. “I care very much.” He placed his hand behind her neck and kissed her. Her lips were wet from tears, making the kiss taste a bit salty, but Zac didn’t care. Their lips moved together intensely, as if it was the last time they would ever kiss.
Zac felt a tear run down his cheek as the thought crossed his mind that it very well could be one of their last kisses. He had been doing a bit of research and it sounded like if the cancer had returned, she wouldn’t be able to fight it off a second time.
He broke their kiss and pressed his forehead against hers. He looked at her and bit his lip as he saw that tears were streaming down her face once more. She was obviously thinking the same thing he was.
“I’m not going to take treatment.” She whispered. Zac froze. He suddenly found that he couldn’t breathe and his whole world shattered.
“No.” He gasped for air. “Hannah…”
“My chances would be so slim Zac… I don’t want to go through it again.” She said. Her voice was oddly high pitched as she talked through her tears.
“No,” his lip trembled. “I-I need you. You have to fight.” Hannah shut her eyes and leaned back against her pillows.
“Please, don’t leave me.” Zac whispered. Hannah smiled weakly.
“We’ll see.” She replied. Zac wiped his face with his arm, feeling completely hopeless.
“Hannah?” An important looking doctor entered the room carrying a clipboard. “Your test results have arrived early.” Zac tensed up, he felt Hannah’s body do the same. He slipped his hand into hers and squeezed hard.
This was it…

:O hehe. Andrew's letter to Hannah

New Beginnings ch. 16

Ridiculously short, sorry! I decided to put both the parts together, it really is ridiculously short with just part one. haha.

PART 1

Zac called Hannah’s phone, for what seemed like the millionth time that day, to no answer. He tossed the phone onto the car seat, frustrated. She had barely spoken to him since their dinner two nights ago and he’d had enough.
He drove to her house and knocked on the door heavily.
“Zac! Hey.” Mark greeted.
“Hey, where’s Hannah?” Zac asked. Mark’s face fell.
“She’s still in the hospital. I though you were meeting her there.” He replied.
“She’s where?” Zac said, eyes wide. “Damn it.” He whispered. He felt his heart sink, his suspicions about her being sick were true. He turned on his heel and headed for his car.

“Hannah?” Zac said quietly as he entered her hospital room. It had taken some major convincing on his part to find out what room she was in, but luckily, one nurse took kindly to him.
“Zachary! You’re here. We were beginning to think you weren’t going to make it.” Hannah’s mom greeted him with a hug. Zac smiled weakly. He glanced toward Hannah, she look shocked to see him.
“Do you mind if I talk to Hannah for a moment?” He asked quietly. Her mother nodded and shuffled out of the room, dragging her husband with her.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Zac asked, hurt.
“I’m sorry.” Hannah replied quietly. “I didn’t want to worry you. It’s nothing serious, just a few tests.”
“Cancer is serious!” Zac snapped, turning to face her. “I don’t care if its just tests, you need to let me know what’s going on. You can’t leave me wondering and thinking you hate me because you wont answer your freaking phone!”
“Zac, I’ll be fine.” She said, staring at the dull hospital wall across from her bed. “They’re keeping me here until the tests are done. You don’t have to be here.” Zac froze, words momentarily forgotten as his mouth hung open in shock.
“You can go.” Hannah whispered. “Please, just go.”
Zac’s face twisted in anger. “You…” He bit his tongue to keep from saying something he would surely regret.
“Call me.” He finally managed before storming out of the room.
As soon as he was out of the hospital, he pulled out his phone and called the only person her knew would understand.

PART 2

Zac waited for Hannah to call, but she never did. He had talked to her mother and discovered that the doctors feared the leukemia had returned, which was what he’d thought all along. He also discovered that her test results wouldn’t come until the end of the week. Apparently the hospital had to send away for the tests because they didn’t have the proper equipment.
“Zachary?” Zac sighed as he heard his mother’s voice. She only called him by his full name when he was in trouble, or when she was trying to have a ‘serious’ talk with him.
“Honey, I know you don’t want to talk to me about what’s going on, but I’m here when you’re ready to talk.” She continued as she watched her son. He was on the couch, flipping through the channels aimlessly. He looked awful.
Zac sighed after taking in his mother’s words.
“Did you two break up?” She pressed gently.
“Don’t know.” He replied. His mom raised an eyebrow, she clearly hadn’t expected him to reply. She hurried over and sat next to him on the couch, waiting for him to elaborate.
After a few moments of silence, and internal debating, Zac opened his mouth.
“She’s at the hospital. They think the leukemia is back.” He said quietly.
“Oh, Zac!” She pulled him into a hug but he pushed her away gently.
“Whey aren’t you there with her?” She asked. A wave of anger surged through his body.
“Don’t you think I want to be?” He said, a bit harsher than he meant to. “She wont let me.” He continued. His mother frowned.
“Fuck this.” He mumbled under his breath.
“Zachary…” She scolded lightly.
“I’ll be in my room.” He replied. He took the stairs two at a time and slammed the bedroom door behind him.

“Go away.” Zac said when he heard a knock on his door. Whoever was at the door ignored his wishes and entered the room anyway.
“I brought a sandwich for you.” His mother said kindly.
Zac shook his head. “Don’t want it.” He said. He was lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling intently. He wished she would just leave him alone. Why did mothers have to care so much?
He heard his phone ring and his hand shot into his pocket to dig it out. He sat up straight as he looked at the caller ID and shepherded his mother out of the room.
“Hello?” he said into the receiver as he shut the door.
“Hey…” Hannah’s voice replied quietly. Zac felt his heart sink. He already knew what she was going to say just by the tone of her voice.
“No.” He said. “Please don’t.”
“Zac…” Hannah sighed.
“No, please.” He begged. “Don’t be silly.”
“I just think we should take a break.” She said quietly. “We don’t have to officially break up or anything. I just need a break right now. I can’t deal with all of this at once.” She added, a sob escaping her throat.
“Hannah, it doesn’t have to be like this.” Zac said quietly, he could feel his throat begin to close up. He bit his lip and took a deep breath to steady himself.
“I can help you through this.” He said finally.
“I have to go.” Hannah said. “I think this is for the best.” She hung up.
Zac threw his phone against the wall in frustration.
“I’m going to the hospital.” He announced, walking out of the room.
“Maybe you should calm down a bit first.” His mom rushed after him, she had been standing outside the room and heard the phone hit the wall.
“I’ll calm down on the drive over.” He called over his shoulder.
“Honey, some gossip magazine came for you.” Zac’s dad declared as he walked in the door with the mail. Zac’s ears perked up and waited anxiously as his father sorted through the rest of the mail.
“And something came addressed to Hannah?” Mr. Farro added, confused.
“That’s for me.” Zac grinned. He grabbed a plain postcard from his father and ran out the door.
“That boy!” His mother huffed as she watched him swerve out of the driveway and speed down the street. “I can’t get anything out of him.” She mumbled.
Zac’s dad laughed. “You’re lucky you get as much as you do!” He said. “When I was his age, I didn’t tell my mother anything.” Mrs. Farro scowled and shuffled into the kitchen to make plans for dinner.

Sorry for the change. haha

New Beginnings ch. 15

Might as well update. It helps me avoid school work. XD

Zac flew around the kitchen in a blur, tasting sauces and checking temperatures. He heard the doorbell ring as he pulled chicken out of the oven.
“Damn.” He muttered. “Um…” He scanned the cluttered countertops for a place to put the hot baking sheet and settled on the countertop of the small island in the kitchen.
He rushed to the door. “Welcome” He said, grinning as Hannah walked in. He kissed her quickly before hurrying back to the kitchen to check on the pasta.
“Dinner’s almost ready.” He called over his shoulder.
Hannah laughed and followed him in to the kitchen. “Oh wow!” she laughed. It looked like a tornado had flown through the kitchen.
“Your parents are going to freak when they get back.” She said. Zac shrugged and waived his hand in an ‘I don’t care’ gesture.
“Mmm! Perfect!” He grinned, taste-testing the cream sauce he’d made. He pulled the sauce off the burner and dumped the pasta into a strainer.
“Anything I can do to help?” Hannah asked, she placed the dessert she had brought on the island next to the chicken.
“Nope.” Zac said, shaking the strainer to get all the excess water off of the pasta.
“I’ll cut the bread.” She said, spotting a delicious loaf of Italian bread on a cutting board. She snuck behind Zac to grab a knife.
“Ah!” She laughed as Zac backed up into her on his way back to the oven.
“Sorry! You alright?” He asked quickly. Hannah rubbed her arm where she had bumped it into the counter.
“I’m fine.” She insisted. Zac kissed her forehead and turned back to his cooking.
“Go sit, I’ll cut the bread.” He said. Hannah ignored him and sliced the bread anyway.
“Go!” Zac smiled as he realized she was still there. “I got it. I’m making dinner for you.” He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her. She pressed her back into his chest and relaxed into him. He kissed the side of her head and gently guided her into the dining room.
“You really went all out.” She laughed as she saw the table setting. Zac grinned and lit the candles on the table.
“Told you it was a romantic dinner for two.” He smiled. “Be right back.” He hurried out of the room.
He returned a few moments later with two large plates of food. He set them on the table and hurried back to the kitchen to return with the bread and a few other side dishes.
“This looks amazing.” Hannah smiled as Zac finally settled into his seat. “I can’t believe you actually cooked.” She stared at the plate in front of her; the chicken was served over the pasta with loads of cream sauce covering everything. It was one of Zac’s favorite meals that his dad cooked.
“I did it!” Zac said proudly, looking at the food around him in slight disbelief. Hannah laughed.
“You did.” She smiled.
“I hope it tastes alright.” He said uncertainly. Hannah grinned and cut a bite-sized piece of chicken, wrapping pasta around it along the way. Zac waited nervously for the verdict as she chewed. After a few seconds, she froze and screwed her face up in disgust.
“Damn.” Zac whispered. Hannah laughed.
“Just kidding, it’s excellent!” She raved. Zac laughed and took a bite of his own meal to be sure. He nodded his head as he chewed.
“Not bad!” He smiled. “Oh! I nearly forgot.” He jumped up and ran out of the room, returning with two wine glasses and a bottle.
“Wine?” Hannah asked in surprise.
“It’s ok, I cleared it with my parents.” He assured. “One glass each.” He began pouring.
“I’ve been told it’s a ‘full bodied white wine that goes excellently with this dish.’” He added, imitating his father as he spoke. Hannah laughed.
“I love you.” She said as he handed her the glass.
Zac beamed. “I love you too.”

After dinner, Zac and Hannah sat talking on the couch. Hannah shivered, despite the warm temperature, and leaned up against Zac, closing her eyes. The meal had been excellent, but she was exhausted. She had been tired a lot recently.
Zac wrapped his arms around her to keep her warm, and absentmindedly ran his finger along her arm with a smile. He hadn’t felt this content in ages. He kissed her gently and shut his eyes, allowing his head to fall back onto the couch.
“Ouch!” Hannah jumped suddenly as Zac’s finger brushed across her forearm.
“Sorry!” He said immediately. “What did I do?” He asked. Hannah looked at her arm, a nasty looking bruise had crept over her pale skin.
“What happened?” Zac asked, grasping her arm gently to get a better look.
“Must be from when I ran into the counter earlier.” Hannah shrugged. “I’ll be fine.” Zac bit his lip, the gears in his brain spun to life.
“You bruise easily girl.” He decided. Hannah laughed and stuck her tongue out at him.
“How do you think Hayley and Josh’s date went?” Hannah asked. Zac shrugged.
“Well I’d assume, otherwise he’d be back already.” He replied.
“Apparently I wasn’t supposed to say anything about the date.” She frowned. “You didn’t tell me that when you told me they were going out.” Zac laughed.
“That’s because I wanted her to be somewhat prepared.” He said.
“What?” Hannah asked.
“Well, Josh wanted to surprise her and ask her to marry him, but I thought she should at least know she was going on a fancy date. She’d be pissed if she was underdressed or something. And I figured, the less pissed she was, the better shot Josh had.” Zac explained. Hannah broke out into a grin.
“Seriously!” She asked. “Oh my gosh! They’re engaged!”
“Well, we don’t know for sure…” Zac said.
“Oh come on! You know she said yes.” Hannah rolled her eyes.
“Yeah.” Zac nodded with a smile. Touring certainly would be interesting now.
“I think it’s time for bed.” He laughed as Hannah yawned. She nodded her head resignedly and allowed herself to be lead to Zac’s car.

“I’ll call you tomorrow.” Zac said quietly. Hannah kissed him slowly, licking his bottom lip. Zac shut his eyes and kissed back, it still amazed him at how much her kisses affected him.
“Love you.” Hannah smiled.
“Love you too.” He replied. She kissed him one last time before opening her door and entering the house.
Zac turned and rushed back to his car, pulling out his iPhone on the way. He frantically typed in a web address as he slammed the car door shut.
“Come on!” He grumbled as the page loaded excruciatingly slowly. He had been waiting all night to do this and he didn’t think he could wait much longer. When the page finally loaded, Zac scrolled down the screen and read.
“Symptoms:
Fever, chills, night sweats and other flu-like symptoms, weakness or fatigue, headaches, bone pain, joint pain, dizziness, nausea, paleness, and unintentional weight loss are just a few of the possible symptoms. Other symptoms may include bruising and excessive bleeding.”
Zac's heart dropped. “Shit.” He sighed.

“How was dinner?” Hannah’s mother asked as she walked in the door.
“Great.” She replied with a smile.
“Are you alright?” Her mom asked, she could always tell when something was bothering her daughter. Hannah turned her arm to reveal the bruise.
“It’s happening again.” She said quietly. Her mom’s eyes went wide.

*gasp*

New Beginnings ch. 14

REALLY quick update!!!

Zac settled into bed, thinking of Hannah. It had been a week since the tour ended and he missed not being able to see her whenever he pleased. He made a mental note to talk to Josh about possibly finding an apartment together so they could have more freedom.
On tour, he certainly wasn’t free to do everything he wanted, but he definitely had more freedom than he did when he was at home. At home, his parents kept and extra close eye on he and Josh. Since their parents couldn’t supervise the two while they were on tour, it was like their parents felt like they had to be extra protective at home, to make up for what they had missed.
Zac was about to fall asleep when he heard something at his window.
“What the…” He grumbled roughly. He stood up and walked over to the large window, jumping as Hannah’s face suddenly appeared on the other side of the glass. He could hear her laugh from the other side and he shook his head, unlocking the window and opening it to allow her to come in.
“Sexy.” Hannah smiled as she looked him over. He was wearing a pair of boxer-briefs and nothing else. He blushed deeply before pulling on some pajama pants.
“It’s hot.” He defended.
“That comment wasn’t meant to tease.” She smiled. “Just stating a fact.” Zac laughed.
“Yeah, well your pretty damn sexy too.” He said, looking at her. She was wearing a light tank top and jeans.
“Shut up.” She laughed. “Where’s Josh?” She asked, looking around the room and spotting his empty bed.
“He snuck out. He’s staying the nigh at Hayley’s apartment.” Zac replied, falling onto his bed. Hannah sat down next to him.
“How’d you get out?” He asked.
“I’m staying the night at Hayley’s apartment.” She said, trying to hide a smile. Zac laughed. “Or that’s what my parents think anyway.” She added innocently.
Zac tried to pull her down so she was lying next to him but she stopped him, unbuttoning her jeans and throwing them into a pile of his dirty clothes. Zac grinned as she stood in front of him in polka dot pajama shorts.
“This is way more comfortable.” She laughed. Zac nodded, pulled her on to the bed and kissed her slowly.
She slid on top of him so she was straddling his hips and kissed back hard. Zac felt a small tug of desire in his stomach and he tangled his fingers in her hair, trying to pull her closer. He felt like he would lose her if he didn’t hold on tight.
They were quickly interrupted by loud footsteps in the hallway.
“Shit!” Zac scrambled to get away from Hannah. “That’s my mom. Hide!” Hannah panicked and headed for the closet but Zac stopped her.
“Get in Josh’s bed!” He whispered urgently.
“What? Are you crazy?” Hannah said anxiously.
“He’s supposed to be here. Just do it.” Zac said, pushing her toward the empty bed. Hannah’s eyes went wide. As the footsteps got closer, she was left with no choice. She jumped in the bed and pulled the blankets up until only a bit of her hair showed, just as the door opened.
Her heart stopped and she prayed that his mother wouldn’t get close enough to be able to see that one of her sons had magically grown breasts and longer hair.
She and Zac both froze in place, hoping that Mrs. Farro would assume they were asleep and would leave. After a few nerve-racking seconds, Hannah heard Zac let out a huge sigh as the door clicked shut once more. He hopped out of his bed and hurried to the door to lock it.
“Josh owes me.” He said as he helped Hannah out of the bed.
“Technically, he owes me.” Hannah grinned. Zac laughed.
“Now, where were we?” He asked. Hannah pressed her cheek against his, placing her lips next to his ear. She kissed him lightly under his earlobe and felt him shiver.
“Ah yes, I remember now.” He smiled as she continued planting kisses along his jaw line. She giggled and pulled away to lie on his bed.
“I’m tired.” She said with a yawn. “Goodnight.” She pulled the blankets up and shut her eyes.
“What?” Zac said in disbelief. “You can’t do that! That’s not fair.” Hannah laughed and patted the spot next to her on the bed.
“Come on.” She said. Zac grumbled in annoyance but laid next to her. A smirk passed across Hannah’s face as she cuddled up to him and kissed his neck.
“Oh, you’re sleepy are you?” Zac grinned, he turned on his side and brushed a few strands of hair out of her face. Hannah laughed and snaked her hand around his bare waist.

~*~*~*~

“You’re awfully smiley today.” Hayley noted as yet another grin graced Hannah’s lips. The two were looking around the local thrift and vintage shops.
Hannah took a sip of her coffee, hiding a blush with the large cup. “How about this?” She held up a shirt to her torso.
Hayley bit her lip as she looked. “Nah.” She decided. “Try this one.” She pulled out a similar shirt in a different color.
“Josh owes me.” Hannah said as she added the shirt to her pile of clothes to try on.
“Why?” Hayley asked. “Oh! I love these!” She added as she picked up a pair of bright green high heels.
“Those look ridiculous.” Hannah laughed. “And I covered for him while he was at your place the other night.”
Hayley placed the shoes back on the rack. “Wait, what?” She asked. Hannah recounted the story of the Farro’s mother coming in to check on Zac and Josh.
Hayley laughed. “Wait! Did you two… you know… again? Is that why you’re so smiley?”
“Not exactly.” Hannah said mysteriously, smiling as she thought back to the night. Hayley laughed.
“Well, all I can say is be really freaking careful!” She shook her head for emphasis.
“Hmm?” Hannah asked.
“I had a bit of a pregnancy scare.” Hayley whispered.
“What?!” Hannah replied in shock. “Seriously?”
“Shh!” Hayley giggled with a nod. “But I’m not, I took a test and I got mother natures monthly gift this morning.” She laughed. “Don’t tell Zac, I haven’t told Josh.”
“Are you going to tell Josh?” Hannah asked.
“Oh yes.” Hayley laughed. “He will definitely be hearing about that.”
Hannah laughed. “Anyway…” She said trying to change the subject.
“Want to go grab some lunch?” Hayley asked. Hannah nodded and they made their way to the register to pay.
“Oh, movie marathon at my place on Friday night if you and Z want to come.” Hayley said as the two left the store.
“Can’t.” Hannah smiled. “Apparently Zac is making a ‘romantic dinner for two’ on Friday.”
Hayley laughed. “Oh, that’s sweet.” She smiled. Hannah beamed and nodded.
“Hopefully I’ll be able to eat it.” She said.
“Hey, it’s the thought that counts. You can always order a pizza or something if it’s all burnt.” Hayley laughed.
“Actually, I’m kind of thinking that he’s going to order out anyway.” Hannah admitted.
Hayley nodded. “That would be the Zac thing to do.”
“Hold up.” Hannah paused thoughtfully. “I thought you and Josh were having a date night on Friday, you wouldn’t be able to do a movie night at your place anyway.”
Hayley frowned. “Did I tell you that?” She asked, worried that she had forgotten.
“No, Zac said that you and Josh were going out to a swanky dinner, Jon was going to a friend’s house and Izzie was going to a movie. So Zac and I would be alone for our ‘romantic dinner’ thing.” Hannah explained. Hayley looked confused.
“Oh!” Hannah said in realization. “Maybe that was a surprise…”
“Yep, that sounds very Josh-like.” Hayley laughed.
“Sorry.” Hannah frowned.
“I’ll act surprised.” Hayley shrugged it off. “And at least I won’t be under-dressed. Actually, in all honesty, I’ll probably forget about it and it really will be a surprise.” She was famous for forgetting things, just as Hannah was famous for blurting things out on occasion, but that was why Hayley liked Will so much. He made sure she remembered interviews, press things and what city they were in while they were on tour.
“Alright, well, let’s get out of here before I get myself into any more trouble.” Hannah laughed.

OMG!! My sister's friend just got her limited editon Final Riot DVD today!!! She's on her way over to bring me to her apartment so I can watch it with her because she knows I'm pissed that I haven't gotten mine yet (post office says I should get it tomorrow, but I can't wait anymore! haha)
I had to agree to one condition though: that we watch the concert first 'cuz it was amazing' (I know she's right, but I didn't get to go to the concert for real :/ she did, lucky. haha) Watching the concert before the documentary should be a must anyway in my opinion. haha.
IM SO EXCITED!! AHH!!
This is gonna be a loooong night... OH WELL :D :D :D :D

New Beginnings ch. 13

This is ridiculously short. Sorry.
I might post another quick chapter later to make up for it (if I have time) haha

“Welcome home!” Family and friends shouted as Zac, Hannah, Jeremy, Taylor, Josh and Hayley stepped off the bus into the warm night air. Everyone, except Zac, broke out into grins as they spotted their parents and siblings and rushed over to say hello. Zac took his time walking over, he knew he had let his mother down and he hated it.
“Zac! Come here.” His mom called. He forced a smile and walked over allowing himself to be pulled into a hug.
“Hannah sweetie!” She said, pulling away from Zac and hugging Hannah.
“How are you?” She asked.
“I’m well, thanks.” Hannah blushed slightly. Zac’s mom smiled. “Well, you’ll have to come by for dinner sometime soon.”
“Of course.” Hannah smiled politely.
“Mom.” Zac interrupted, he could tell Hannah was extremely embarrassed and slightly uncomfortable. “Can we get home? I’m exhausted.” His mom frowned.
“Sure.” She said simply. His dad took his luggage, loading it into the family car.
“I’ll be over in a minute.” Zac said to his mother. She nodded and hurried off to find Hayley, she’d always loved Hayley, Hannah too for that matter.
“I guess I’ll see you later.” Zac said to Hannah. Hannah nodded.
“Call me tomorrow.” She whispered.
“Yeah.” Zac nodded. “It feels so weird to be saying goodbye… we’ve been together for what? Three weeks now?” Hannah smiled and nodded.
“Come over anytime if Mark is being an ass.” Zac said seriously.
“Alright.” Hannah sighed. She really hoped her brother would be nicer now that she was back.
“I’m gonna miss you.” She hugged him. He smiled and kissed the top of her head.
“Well, I’m taking you out tomorrow night, so you wont miss me for long.” He said. Hannah laughed.
“See you then.” She smiled. Zac leaned in and kissed her quickly. Hannah blushed as her parents and Zac’s parents looked on.
“What? It’s not like they don’t know.” Zac laughed. Hannah slapped his chest with a giggle.
“Bye.” She said, sticking her tongue out at him. He waived and hopped into the car.

“Alright, I’m going upstairs.” Zac said with a yawn. Josh and the rest of his siblings had gone to bed long ago, but Zac had been sucked into a television program his mother was watching.
“Goodnight sweetie.” His mom said, eyes glued to the crossword puzzle in front of her. Zac frowned, she couldn’t even stand to look at him. He stood and headed for the stairs.
“Mom?” He said, turning back to the living room.
“Yes?” She asked.
“I’m sorry I disappointed you.” He said quietly. He turned back to the stairs quickly as he felt his eyes begin to burn.
“Zachary Wayne Farro!” She said sternly. He stopped in his tracks.
“Look at me.” She demanded. He turned slowly to face her but couldn’t make himself meet her gaze. She stood and walked toward him, placing her hand under his chin and gently pulling his face up so his eyes met with hers.
“Don’t you ever say that again.” She said powerfully. “You could never do anything to disappoint me.” Her voice softened and she pulled him into a hug.
“Not even if I murdered someone?” He asked. She laughed and pulled away.
“No.” She smiled, wiping a tear from her face. “I’d just blame myself for being a bad parent.”
“You’re not a bad parent!” He said at once. She placed her hands on his shoulders and smiled.
“I love you Zac.” She said. “I always will. No matter what trouble you get yourself in to.” Zac smiled.
“Love you too mom.” He said.
“Alright, now get to bed, it’s after midnight.” She smiled.
“Ma, I haven’t been to bed before 2 AM in weeks now.” He laughed. She rolled her eyes and gently pushed him up the stairs.

Rant

I feel like ranting. hahaha. You don't have to read.

I'm reaaaaaally not liking the postal office right now. I STILL don't have my Final Riot DVD. :( I'm one day away from giving in and buying the standard edition, I swear.
Although, I did recently check the paramoreband livejournal and I found 3 other people 2 other people who haven't gotten theirs yet so that makes me feel a *little* better. (Dang, one of the three just got hers. And another one of the three has it on the way now... that leaves ONE (known) person besides me :/)
AND I paid for Priority mail but it was sent on Standard so I emailed FBR to see if I could get my (techically my mom's...) $ back for shipping and the reply was "Sure, we'll refund the difference: .70 cents" ...not exactly great, but ooooook. It seems to me that if THEY messed up the shipping, then I should get ALL of the shipping back, especially since the DVD was so expensive. But whatever, I'm not going to argue it. .70 is better than nothing I guess.
Ugh, I'm tired of waiting. :/

In other news, school is kicking my butt. haha. I have SOOOOOO much work to do and only a week and a half to do it. 3 papers, a powerpoint thingy and LOADS of photoshop work. I'm gonna have a loooooong weekend...
Then, after all the projects/papers there's a week of tests. Ahhhhh I'm gonna die... I can't wait for break.

Ok, rant over.

Non rant part: I love Buzznet though, it lets me forget/avoid school work and provides hours of entertainment. haha. Everyone on buzznet is so nice too. It's great. lol

New Beginnings ch. 12

It's all filler. Sorry :/
Enjoy.

“And now I’d like to ask Zac a question.” An interviewer said, turning to the drummer. Zac internally groaned. They were on their tour bus, doing an interview for Rolling Stone.
“There was an article published recently…” The interviewer began.
“Yeah.” Zac said with a forced smile. He wished Hayley would answer for him, he didn’t know what to say. But before the interview, she had pointed out that if she answered for him, it would make it look like he was trying to hide the truth, which was essentially exactly what he was trying to do.
“They printed a retraction pretty quickly though.” He added. “I mean, yeah, we kissed, but what teenager doesn’t.” The interviewer nodded.
“There seems to be a lot of support from the fans on this little mess. I hear they’ve been calling the paper that published the article and have been giving them a hard time for it.”
“Really?” Zac laughed. “I had no idea. That’s pretty awesome actually.”
“So, just to be clear, nothing did happen?” The interviewer asked. Zac took a deep breath.
“Well, we kissed.” He laughed. “As everyone saw from the photo. And, come on, in the middle of a venue? Seriously?” The interviewer laughed.
“Yes, that would be a bit stupid wouldn’t it?” The interviewer said. A blush snuck in, high on Zac’s cheeks. He rubbed his face, pretending he was tired, hoping the interviewer wouldn’t notice the blush.
“Actually, can I add something?” Zac asked. Hayley shot him a glare that clearly said ‘shut your hole!’ but Zac ignored her.
“Of course.” The interviewer nodded.
“Paramore is not a Christian band.” Zac said. “People have been saying that if everything was true, then Paramore, as a band, isn’t sticking to their morals. Yes, as individuals we are all Christian, but we are in a rock band, not a Christian band. So crap like this shouldn’t make the band as a whole look bad.” He finished with a smile. Hayley nodded at him encouragingly.
“And even if you do …uh, that… before marriage, it doesn’t mean you’re a bad Christian.” Zac continued. “I mean, if you’re in love and you’re going to get married anyway why should it matter? I dunno, that’s just my opinion the whole topic.” He felt his face heat up after he finished talking and he wondered if he had gone too far.
“Very well said.” The interviewer smiled. “Well folks, there you have it. The whole article was just a sleazy reporter digging for a story.” The interviewer said into his recorder. He turned it off and faced the band.
“Thanks guys, this should run in the next issue and will be online by the end of the week.” He said, shaking everyone’s hand before leaving.
“I didn’t have to lie!” Zac smiled triumphantly. Jeremy laughed.
“Well, you sorta did…” Josh said.
“No! I never once said ‘no we didn’t’ I said we had kissed and then said a venue was a stupid choice, which it was by the way. That guy took it as a ‘no we didn’t’” Zac grinned. Josh laughed and shook his head before pouring himself some Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Hannah caught Zac’s attention and nodded to the back of the bus subtly. Zac excused himself from his band mates and followed her to the back lounge.
“I overheard the interview.” She said, looking at the ground.
“Oh?” Zac said.
“What did you mean by that…” She asked. Zac felt his heart race, he hadn’t said anything bad about her had he?
“By what?” He asked.
“When you said that having sex before marriage doesn’t make you a bad Christian. You said if you were going to get married anyway, it shouldn’t matter.” She said, finally looking up at him.
“I said that?” He frowned. He remembered saying that having sex before marriage didn’t make you a bad Christian, but he didn’t remember the last part.
Hannah laughed and nodded.
“Damn, I have to learn to think before I talk.” He laughed.
“Well…” he said. “I’m not gonna lie, I’ve definitely thought about it. Marriage I mean.” Hannah bit her lip.
“And I don’t think being married to you some day would be the worst thing in the world.” He continued with a smile. Hannah broke out into a huge grin and kissed him happily.
“Well who says I want to be married to a stinky drummer like you?” She said suddenly.
“Uh, that kiss.” Zac laughed. “And I am not stinky!” He added, smelling his armpits to be sure. Hannah laughed.
“I love you.” She smiled.
“I love you too.” He said, pulling her close. He kissed her slowly and licked her bottom lip. Her lips parted slightly and he slipped his tongue easily into her mouth.
“Hey! I think it’s a bit soon for a repeat performance.” Taylor interrupted. Hannah jumped away quickly while Zac silently cursed his best friend.
“Shut up dude.” Zac laughed.
“Come on, time for sound check.” Taylor informed.

Last chapter of being on tour btw. hah. I kinda ran out of touring ideas for the moment.
Sorry so short!

Plans

Ok so I just thought I'd let y'all know what I'm planning for future fics. haha
1) Finish Zacfic (obviously)
2) Post a new (probably short-ish) Joshayley
3) Post MFEO II!!!!!!
4) ??? Out of ideas at this point. haha.

I have to think of ideas for MFEO II, so I'm gonna be posting a different Joshayley first so I can give myself some stalling time. haha. I have a few, but I'm trying to think of some sort of twist and my brain doesn't want to do it. hah. Maybe when school gets out for the holidays I'll be able to think. [any ideas/suggestions? It doesnt have to be something dramatic, I just want to hear what you guys would like to see in the sequel :)]

ALSO! I was gonna do a Christmas one-shot, BUT it kinda sorta morphed itself to fit in with the Joshayley I'm planning. hahaha. So, I'm going to try to time it up so that the Christmas part happens on/near Christmas (may end up overlaping the Zacfic). Otherwise, I'll probably just think of a new Christmas one-shot I could post. haha. Might do that anyway if I randomly get an idea...
And as far as #2 goes, I'm gonna try something different for this fic, something to challenge me as a writer because I really want to get better. Especially with descriptions. I suck at description. lol. Anyway, just thought I'd let you know that it's gonna be slightly different to what I usually do and I'm REALLY liking it so far! yay :P

As for the Zacfic, thanks to everyone who reads/comments! You make my life! haha
